we greatly appreciate the patient and fun atmosphere here after having tried another place that was far too intense for beginners. coach matt is great with my young kids! highly recommend.
I’ll start with this is an awesome and well rounded dojo! We started here almost 5 months ago after shopping around Onslow County for many months before finding our new family. I and my two kids 6/8yrs old practice BJJ here. I roll at 6am and the kids are in the beginners and comp class. Wife will be starting with the awesome all womans self defense class. Firstly the price was what put them to the top of my list but the atmosphere and the people is what sold us. The instructors here are very out going and better yet a great roll model for my kids to immolate. They push the kids to their individual limits and build they up with the right amount of encouragement for the confidence they need to continue to have fun and keep bettering themselves. This dojo is up and coming with their future additions for additional amenities for member to indulge in soon!!!! So excited we found them and we couldn’t be happier with all the love and care towards our family always showing compassion and understanding. As for us adults this is an instructor who truly loves what he does and take the time to perfect your technique and pushes us to as good and we can even when we start to give up on ourselves(me haha).
Such a great place to train. Matt cares a lot about his students and is a phenomenal instructor.
I recently visited this Jujitsu place and was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, making it easy to feel at home. The environment is inviting, and the instructor/coach mat teaching methods are clear and easy to understand. I'm eagerly looking forward
Stopped by for their open mat and was greeted by everyone with lots of hugs and smiles. Very inviting place. The rolls were great, challenging, and very fun. I would most definitely stop by again if I find myself in the area.
Outstanding place to train. Matt is great and is wonderful at catering the techniques to each individual's skill level. Such a good place and not at all an intimidating experience for those who wish to try it out. The people that train there are very welcoming. The kids and adults at the gym are respectful and try to help you have the best experience! Great to watch this newly established martial arts academy’s notable success!
Great place to train for both kids and adults!
Can’t vouch for coach Matt enough. Great training and great atmosphere 😊
Great location, Matt is AWESOME! Can't wait to get back there!
Professional, clean, and respectful. This academy is just what This town needed with an amazing instructor. 10/10 would recommend.
Great gym. Good location and Matt is fantastic!! Come check it out!
Was really excited to try something new for a homeschool class that was offered. Have never done this before, completely new to martial arts and my kids were really excited. Will NOT be going back after the instructor put my 5 year old in a choke hold until he cried without giving any instruction just to ‘come wrestle him’. This terrified my son and I was not expecting a grown man to wrestle my 5 year old. Very little instruction or patience for young kids. Couldn’t even believe what happened within our free trial class. Do not recommend.
