The best growing business in NC. The people in the gym really connect with each other. Everybody that goes to the gym becomes something great. The gym even dipped its toes in martial arts and doing amazing.
My son & I train BJJ here and couldn't be happier with the staff, facility, curriculum, or environment. Their schedule and pricing is unbeatable and the atmosphere is as welcoming as you will find. Highly recommend !
Fantastic gym with top notch instructors. I have been training for 8 years and have never found a school more inviting with as much knowledge as here. There’s a great team of experienced coaches, who always make themselves available to answer questions even outside of class. Highly recommended for all ages and skill levels.

I've been in martial arts gyms for over 12 years and I have to say that hands down this is the best gym that I've ever been to. You are always treated with respect and the amount that you learn is astonishing. Unfortunately I had to move out of the state but if I could take everybody with me I would do it without hesitation.
A great martial arts program, especially for children. Professional, kind, knowledgeable and patient staff. A clean dojo with ample equipment. A plethora of programs and training times. I’m very thankful to have found this group of martial artists.
I have traveled around the US trying many different gyms but Martial Arts and More easily stands out among all of them. If you want to become a legitimate well rounded martial artist train at Martial Arts and More. I tried every gym in Jacksonville and no other gym took care of me better than here. All the instructors are caring and great mentors and now have become what I call family. The instructors are extremely passionate about their craft and you’ll be able to see it as well. I trained at this gym for for nearly 4 years as the Lejuene area was my first duty station and I couldn’t have asked for better teachers to be surrounded by.
I also happen to be a competitor and here’s a few medals I’ve won within the 2-3 years I was competing
I don't usually give 5 stars to a location, but I strongly believe that this dojo deserves a 5 star review. I moved here from an entirely different state only knowing a couple of people. I started learning martial at the dojo around October. Since I started here I have learned so much and made a who new group of a support system and friends. I was uncomfortable when I first walked through the doors not knowing anything about martial arts and now I have a family of people who love to train. I look forward to walking in and training everyday I get the chance to. Their first goal is self defense and they stick to it. I love it here and can't wait to see where my journey is going to take me.
They are amazing. The self defence class has a group of caring lady's that make it comfortable to be uncomfortable around. This class has helped alot with anxiety, confidence, and respect for myself. And others.i feel more prepared to protect myself and my kids then I did before I started. Nothing more important then that.
Both my daughters absolutely love Martial Arts & More and get excited coming here! Shout out to Sensei Aaron and Coach Caitlyn who have made an huge impact in both my daughters lives. Sensei Aaron has an incredible amount of patience with all the kids but perfectly balances that with discipline. He is by far the best Sensei I've known! My daughters have learned so much here, from Karate to life lessons about being courteous and respectful and much more. The past 7 months have made a huge difference in physical and mental development of my daughters. I could not ask for anything more. I highly recommend taking your children here! I wish I discovered this place years ago. I was shy, and had no confidence. Martial Arts & More turned turned my life around. I'm no longer afraid, or shy. They taught me more than just karate, they taught me about life. These people care, and they will do everything they can to help you succeed. I signed up for the adult karate program, and I have no regrets.
Great family oriented place. Very professional and Veteran owned. The fact that the owner is a world champion and in the black belt hall of fame gives me reassurance that he wouldn’t hire just anyone and that they all know what they’re doing. They have tons of different options so you can find your perfect fit to reach whatever goals you may have. I’ve enjoyed the time I have spent there.
This seems like a really excellent school. I watched the head instructor teaching jujitsu and I was impressed. He really took his time to break down concepts and the order of techniques. If I lived closer, I would sign up. The karate looked good and the instructor was very competent in his technique. I would recommend this facility.

I absolutely love all the time that is put into each and every class. Sensei Aaron takes the time to get to know every kid and help them pinpoint what they need to work on. My son was having so much fun with karate that my husband and I decided to start doing it ourselves. Now all three of us can't help smiling all through class. I don't think we could have made a better choice as far as dojo goes.

Attended a birthday party here and the kids, 5 and 10, loved it. The set up was great and the instruction was suitable for beginners. The Sensei was tolerant but stern and handled the rambunctious kids with lots of patience. It was very laid back and comfortable. If I lived in Jacksonville I would definitely bring my kids here for lessons. Thanks for a great time.
I was very satisfied with my first ever visit/training session. I felt like I was in a supportive and non judgmental environment. The instructor was very good I understood exactly what he wanted me to do and how he wanted me to do it. Overall martial arts and more is a great place to train experience or not and is definitely what I'm looking for and is 100% what I have been looking for.
This school is the best around, hands down! The staff all work relentlessly to bring innovative, fun and exciting ways to keep people involved in a fit and active lifestyle while providing the tools for people to develope into disciplined, proactive and goal oriented leaders for themselves and their community! They offer everything from traditional karate, hybrid styles, boxing, kickboxing, mma, fitness, jiu jitsu as well as special events that anyone can enjoy! It's a very welcoming place that anyone can feel right at home with! Their programs are also nationally recognized and all ranks earned are honored at every participating location in the event that you have to move for any reason, so nobody should have to start over or prove themselves to multiple gyms for any ranks they've already earned! Can't say enough good about it, if you're in the area, you should really stop in and check it out!
My son loves going here! We signed him up last May and we started him out with the basic Karate program. We just last month upgraded his membership so he can have a well rounded experience by attending the black belt club, the Gracie Bully Proof program which my son has a blast in and he continues to attend the Karate classes. They offer everything at a fair price. Go check them out!!

Along with the joyful environment experienced, in speaking directly with the owner and practitioner of the martial arts himself, I immediately sensed a wealth of knowledge and wisdom I will personally gain from his mentorship and the instructions of the sensei’s I have met thus far. They don’t mess around in there either; leadership and that “grind” mentality was on display once scheduled lessons began. I highly recommend this place of business and look forward to a long stay of mutual gains and successes.
I have to say the environment has a great feeling about it as soon as you walk in. All of the employees are absolutely awesome and welcome you in as if your family. I wasn’t to sure about getting into kickboxing but I tried it and I’m hooked I couldn’t ask for a better group to work out with. Coach Chino is awesome he uses his own experiences while instructing, he has welcomed the whole group into his family. We were included in his engagement with his fiancé veronica. She also is extreme helpful with catching people up or assisting with instruction. I couldn’t ask for a better coach and place to go. Martial arts and more is a family friendly zone. If your interested look into it, drop in classes are $20 Monday and Wednesday.
Enough could not be said about this place. Any martial arts training you want, while being surrounded by consistently supportive, encouraging and inspiring instructors and students that become another family. I highly recommend any class they have that fits your needs. You will NOT be disappointed. The daily fitness class at 5:30 is a great mix of all arts and is a great full body workout with positive comradery! Coach Chino’s kickboxing class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 is amazing, working with all levels of kickboxing from beginner to advanced, including step by step breakdowns and demonstrations, group and one on one application, and bagwork practice every class!
My son has attended this school for a year now, and he absolutely loves it! In just one short year he has learned so much in both karate and Jiu Jitsu. He honestly can’t get enough of the place. 5 stars all the way!
I love how welcoming everyone is as soon as you walk through the door! The atmosphere is so friendly and clean! The training I receive helps put into perspective what exactly I need to know when it comes to defending myself! I think it is also cool that they give you the opportunity to learn techniques with different the different weapons and gear! They also offer a women's only class which is very comforting especially if you are nervous about training in the first place! I can't wait to continue training with them in the hopes of receiving my black belt here!
My son loves going to classes and learning lots of techniques on his path to being a black belt! We started out on the basic program and recently moved up to the black belt club because the instructors have instilled a confidence in my son. They are knowledgeable and sincere at every class with every child.
My experience as one of the students- Martial Arts & More is the one place everyday I look forward to going everyday.I learn a lot every class and the way the sensais teach its fun and memorable along with the self-discipline. They also have fun activities outside of the classes such as star parties where you can bring friends and as senai says if you don't have any buy get a job and buy some. They have pizza and we play games, there are holiday parties in which have more games food and fun and parents night out when parents can drop their kids off and have some alone time. In addition to all that awesomeness they have promotion camps and you can most likely get promoted there too. Martial Arts & More is a good place to be so why not add it on to the things you've done in your life.
My children (3) have been coming to Martial Arts and More (Jacksonville) since 2013. I initially signed two of my children for introductory karate classes and the oldest child in the Master's Club program. All three loved it there.
The two older children have moved on. Our youngest son switched to Gracie Kids. He loves Ju-Jitsu and is really thriving there. My son is being challenged to put forth his best effort and be an outstanding leader. His Sensei is an incredible instructor.
I highly recommend Martial Arts and More as a place where your children can develop themselves physically and develop good character.
I have trained at other facilities over the years and Martial Arts and More is by far the best! I have been training at Martial Arts and More for approximately 8 months in Kempo Karate and several months in BJJ and I am hooked. Sensei Wright and Sensei Nate are extremely knowledge and talented Martial Artist. My 2 year old daughter and I are also in the "Parent and Me" class. I highly recommend this class.
My 9 yr old son and 3 yrs old daughter love going to their karate class. Such an improvement in my son's confidence. The instructors are all very professional but make the classes fun for the kids.
My 5 year old takes all the different forms of martial arts available at this school and I am more and more impressed every time! In just a few weeks I am seeing a change in her confidence. The instructors are all so great. They are able to teach a 15 year old and a 5 year old the same move by showing them in a way they will understand. We love it here!
I love that Martial Arts and More focuses on creating leaders in the building and outside the building. The students must preform at home, at school and on the mat. The staff is also amazing! I've never been somewhere where all the instructors know all of the kids names, it makes for a personal experience every time we are there!

This Martial Arts center is by far one of the best and most professional in the area without a doubt! We also love how affordable it is for our family, though honestly at any cost I would continue to have my daughter attend classes here! My 4 yr old was once a wild and crazy child and Sensei Nohelia helped her with kindness and discipline become a very respectful young lady again! My son has attended Martial Arts and More for approximately four months. Mr. Wright, as well as most of his team, provide quality instruction and guidance to members. The staff members are well trained in all areas of martial arts.
Well I have been at Wright's Extreme Martial Arts ( Which is now called Martial Arts and More) since 2010. They have excepted my entire family with open arms especially my son Julian who is diagnosis with Autism. This is a Family friendly environment. I started training in Kempo karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2010. Now in 2014 I am their first ever woman promoted to blue belt in brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the school and a certified Black Belt instructor who also teaches at the school. My husband is also a Blue Belt in Brailian Jiu Jitsu and a Green Belt in Kempo karate. My daughter is an Orange Belt in Kempo Karate and my son has two yellow Stripes on his white belt as well. I really love this school because it has gradually made me a better person and my family closer. I really suggest that everyone here in town comes and checks out our school it will change your life in everything and anything you do in life.
I have been a member of Martial Arts and More (formerly Wrights Extreme Karate) for well over four years. I signed my son up because of his interest in Karate under the basic program. Mr. Wright then talked to us about Brandon doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Mauy Thai and boxing. Brandon enjoyed it such much that we checked into the prices and they didn't cost no more than we were already paying, so we became part of the Masters Club as a family.
Roughly after six month my other two kids decided they wanted to try the karate program, so between them playing soccer, we managed to get them involved. Well a long story short both my soccer players have become Martial Artist full time.
I now have a 16 year old black belt in karate and future blue belt in BJJ and recently promoted green belt in Judo, and two green belts who are diligently working towards their black belt. One of those green belts, my 12 year old daughter has been training in BJJ and this past weekend has now decided to try Judo.
Mr. Wright has made my kids feel like a part of his family. The one trait I do enjoy about him and his staff. knowing each time my family walks through those doors we are greeted with smiles and hellos.
Any parents out there that wants to help build their child's confidence in themselves should give Martial Arts a try. I know the staff here at Martial Arts and More is very helpful and understanding and are willing to work with anyone.
I highly recommend parents to get your kids involved in Martial Arts for their confidence and the ability to protect themselves in the need arises. I know I feel safer knowing my 12 year old daughter can take care of her self, especially in today's society.
Most dojo's in this area do train in the Martial Arts in the form of BJJ, but if you want to do the whole package: Karate, BJJ, Judo, Mauy Thai, fitness programs, kick boxing and boxing, I recommended you give Mr. Wright and his staff a shot.
This is not a rating on their Martial arts for any age group, I'm sure you do fine in your teachings. The classes I did go to were fine, the people were nice. I just wish the payments would go through you guys directly and not through another company. IF YOU SEND A LETTER TO CANCEL MAKE SURE ITS THROUGH CERTIFIED MAIL! The billing company will try to keep making you pay. Ask all the questions before you are ripped off. I hope this helps someone.
Years ago I had my Daughter and son there fir a summer camp. My son is Autistic so he being active during my daughter's belt training. Then Lady manager removed my son for coming because they could no longer deal with his autism. However I was more than welcome to allow my daughter to continue. I had a meeting with the manager to discuss the issue. To let them know that it has to be both my children and the advertisement is that the company does well with autism, but they want to kick my son out. So we just stop sending our kids there. I payed the full price for the remainder of the summer and just sucked it up. I apologize because my hope is that this has changed and I wish you nothing but success in the future. It was just a moment In being a parent I don't care to enjoy. . Take care
Textbook McDojo, not sure whom it was in the Gracie clan that endorsed anyone here, but it was clearly a mistake. There are far better options in the Jacksonville area.
In regards to the children’s classes, I felt like it was all a way to rob parents of money. On top of paying for the children’s tuition you are urged to by gear almost monthly. After paying my fees to cancel early, my card was charged once more. I messaged to get an understanding of what the change was for and received no reply. They seem to be in it solely for the money... find Somewhere that cares more about training.
