When arriving at Base Jiu Jitsu for the first time I was a bit apprehensive because as a man in his 40’s with limited experience I had visions of it being full of cocky 18-21 year olds who would want to throw me around and have a good old laugh at my expense but it was quite the opposite. Everyone, young and old was very welcoming. The instructors are all extremely professional and always take the time to work with you on drills and positioning both as a group and on a one to one basis offering advice and encouragement every step of the way. I’m now 4 weeks into my development and I feel like I have learnt so much. I feel at home and as soon as one session finishes, I’m already looking forward to the next one. At Base Jiu Jitsu there are no egos, just a team full of great people working to help each other get better.

Excellent club to train in Belfast. I was made to feel very welcome and the dojo has a really good atmosphere with some excellent quality teaching. Would recommend this club to any level of Jiu Jitsu student from beginner to advanced.

Id been toying with the idea of having a go at bjj and in 2022 i decided to give them a shout and enrolled in the 5 week beginners class and i haven’t looked back since! A bit daunting at the start as id never done anything like it before… but the guys soon put you at ease! A great amount of knowledge in the club! I can’t recommend the club enough to anyone that’s thinking of giving it a go it’s never too late… I started 39!!! Weight loss… competing… or generally want get a bit fitter drop them a msg! Great facility and they can supply you with all the gear like gi’s rash guards and shorts to get start ( kev’s you man for size etc)! Give it a go 👍🏼

Brilliant Gym with class instructors. I have trained in a few different Bjj gyms and this place comes out top for me. Your made very welcome and made to feel part off the team from day one. Myself and my son have been made very welcome and the techniques are broken down and linked together in a very simple piece to piece way. It's certainly been a great move for us. Cheers Jim

Couldn't ask for a better place to start learning BJJ. Incredibly welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all levels of ability and any age group! BJJS also have multiple black belt coaches with a wealth of knowledge on BJJ delivering the highest quality coaching and training. Wish I had joined here sooner!
