Top tier grappling, the coaches and and people overall have been very sound I always look forward to training. Glad I joined 10/10 service
One of the best places in Birmingham. Discipline, brotherhood/sisterhood, atmosphere, instructors, super friendly. All 10/10. No egos, but rather they ease you in. I use this place for my personal training and I love it. Thinking of a full membership.
I highly recommend Aura MMA. One of the best MMA gyms in Birmingham. The coaches are quality and actually care about helping you improve. Training is solid but you’ve got to put the work in to get results. It’s good for both kids and adults, with proper wrestling and jiu-jitsu being taught. The people you train with are sound as well. No one’s trying to hurt each other, everyone just helps each other get better. Another thing I rate is the setup for Muslim brothers. You can pray there no problem, and a lot of the brothers pray together.
My little input… I send my daughter to these classes not only to learn MMA, this helps them learn self protection and really helps build confidence. Other reason is it’s a good atmosphere for her, girls there seem to have good adab and come from families that are deen orientated. The coaches are all good and genuinely caring. The Islamic studies class that is now run is the cherry on top. alhamdulillah
My son has been here just under a month and his confidence is out the roof and he already knows so many moves. The coaches know what they’re doing and they are so supportive. they know how to encourage and engage the kids. I was hesitant at first but after seeing all the coaches work with the children and help them I will be renewing my membership! My boy loves it 100%
Had a drop in session here at a masters class while passing through the area. Coach Jules is very experienced and made it very welcoming. Will be back here when visiting iA
Posted 2 years agoI've never been there but I witnessed on their tiktok, they train post-iftaari & pray taraweeh together during Ramadan 🙌
Posted 2 years agoMy daughter has recently started attending, she loves it and is learning a lot. Great female coaches and brilliant facilities. Thanks
Posted 2 years agoAbsolutely thrilled with the MMA gym! Not only do they teach the technical aspects of martial arts, but they also instill discipline, respect, and self-confidence in every child. The coaches are patient, skilled, and truly passionate about what they do. My children looks forward to every session and has grown both physically and mentally since joining. Highly recommend!"
Posted 3 years agoAfter 6 months of training here, I can honestly say this is one of the most overrated MMA gyms around. The changing room taps have been broken for months, and somehow they still haven’t been fixed. That’s one of the most basic things a gym should be able to maintain. The discipline in classes is shocking. Every session has people messing around, talking through coaching, and treating training like a social club instead of a place to improve. It rarely gets dealt with, so if you’re actually there to learn, expect constant distractions. The sparring culture is even worse. You’ve got cocky lads walking around acting like they’re the next UFC champion, then going unnecessarily hard on beginners just to feed their own ego. Instead of helping less experienced people develop, they try to make themselves look tough. What makes it even more frustrating is that, from my experience, the coaches seem to give most of their attention to the same small group of ego-driven favourites, while everyone else is left to get on with it. If you’re not part of that circle, it can feel like you’re just another membership payment rather than someone they’re interested in helping improve. For £75 a month, the standard is embarrassing. Poor facilities, little discipline, an unhealthy sparring culture, and coaching that, in my experience, doesn’t make most members feel valued. There are far better gyms out there that actually invest in all of their members instead of a select few. Save your money and train somewhere that genuinely wants to help you improve.
I had a very disappointing experience here, particularly with a staff member called Sohail. After my son had a free trial, I was spoken to in a shocking and offensive manner. One of the comments made to me was along the lines of, “Did you think you didn’t have to pay?” — which was completely unnecessary and rude. At no point was I asking for free access. My issue was that there were months where I was still paying despite my son not attending due to personal circumstances, and I was trying to discuss the situation properly. Instead of handling it professionally, I felt I was spoken to aggressively and with very little understanding. I also explained the accommodating nature of the gym and my situation regarding arrangements with my ex-wife, but this was not dealt with respectfully. On top of that, there seemed to be no proper provision or clear system in place to deal with situations like this, which only made matters worse. For a local community club, I expected better communication and a more professional approach. If there are terms and expectations, they should be explained clearly and respectfully — not in an offensive tone
The customer service is really bad and the communication is really horrible and you ring the parents and starts shouting over the call. Aura mma I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone my son only went there for 3 weeks and I had a call and the manager was shouting over the call and saying how come we didn’t pay when it is a monthly payment and he didn’t give me any form to fill in and no information about anything to do with the service.
