Update: Back in London and of course I had to drop back into this beautiful facility for the comp class. I saw familiar faces and was welcomed back with open arms. Thank you for having me, see you again in September. Big shout out to Coach Ffion, Coach Stuart, Tom, Enzo and Noor 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🧼🧼🧼
From the moment you walk through the door, the facilities immediately stand out. The space is clean, modern, and clearly designed by people who actually train. The mats are immaculate, the layout is thoughtful, and everything, from changing areas, strength and conditioning area, recovery area (sauna / cold plunge) , feels intentional and high-level. It’s the kind of environment that makes you want to train harder simply by being in it.
At the front desk, Poppy is an absolute gem. She’s warm, professional, and incredibly welcoming, exactly the kind of first impression that sets the tone for the entire academy. Whether you’re a brand new white belt or a seasoned competitor dropping in, she makes you feel genuinely valued and taken care of. That kind of energy matters more than people realize, and ARMA nails it.
And then there’s the coaching.
Coach Stuart Cooper (yup that Stuart Cooper) brings something rare to the mats: elite-level technical knowledge paired with a calm, thoughtful, and intentional teaching style. His coaching isn’t about ego or flash, it’s about clarity, precision, and helping every student truly understand Jiu-Jitsu. You can feel the depth of experience in the way techniques are explained, connected, and contextualized. Whether you’re focused on fundamentals or refining high-level details, his guidance elevates your game.
But what really sets ARMA apart is the culture. It’s serious without being intimidating, welcoming without being watered down. You feel supported, challenged, and respected, all at the same time. That balance is incredibly hard to create, and ARMA has done it beautifully.
In short: world-class facilities, outstanding staff, elite coaching, and an environment that actually makes you better, on and off the mats.
ARMA Jiu Jitsu Club isn’t just a place to train. It’s a place to grow.
