I will have been training at the Kobukan Dojo for two years in September. I have so many good feelings and memories with the dojo, it's hard for me to choose what to write about. The environment is super inclusive and I always feel safe and supported. The dojo has become a second family to me, and I can't recommend the adult and youth classes enough. I appreciate how the dojo meets you wherever your level is. I use Aikido as my primary source of exercise, and the improvement in my endurance and strength is something I'm proud of. Even the techniques that seemed really intimidating at first have become some of the favorite parts of my training.

Wonderful Aikido school with great lineage and a skilled instructors. The teachers are all very nice, approachable, and precise. Instructions are always clear and there is never any hesitation from teachers (or senior students) to help students of all levels. The training space is clean and accessible, and there are many options for classes at different days and times. The Aikido Yoshokai Kobukan dojo is a very positive environment, welcoming and supportive. Lots of support and encouragement from instructors and fellow students to keep learning, trying, and growing. By putting in the training time you will find yourself growing in areas of your life other than just martial arts. The Aikido is phenomenal (and fun!), but make no mistake that many of the lessons here extend beyond the mat. I recommend this dojo to anyone interested in practicing Aikido or martial arts, both kids and adults.

My daughter and wife have been studying Aikido here for a while, and it’s been a very positive and supportive experience for both of them. It’s nice to have a martial arts school that isn’t just shouting and punching, especially for kids (my daughter started when she was 7)

I am a former student of Aikido Yoshokai and I highly recommend this organization. The instructors are skilled, dedicated and regularly attend training sessions both here and at the headquarters dojo to stay current with the head instructor's teachings. You don't just learn the martial art's curriculum here but also the ideas and philosophy behind it. It was my pleasure and honor to be a part of Aikido Yoshokai of Minnesota for as long as I was.
