My daughter started a few weeks ago. We've been enjoying it but haven't put it into practice... until now. Earlier this evening her brother was annoying her by chasing and poking at her with a stuffed animal, and she didn't want to hurt him and was trying really hard to run away. Normally I would step in and get them to stop running around the house. But for the first time, I was able to do something different. I said, "stand in the center of the livingroom. If he comes at you, do a take down and restrain him. Protect his head." Something definitely clicked and she did it perfectly. From there, as her brother was trying to escape, all I had to do was say "get side control," "put him in your guard," and "back pack!" and "maintain control until he's tired." During the entire thing, I did not have to separate them or discipline anyone, she protected her little brother's head. I was able to remain at the dinner table and eat peacefully the entire time.
Amazing place!! The instructors explain the moves very thoroughly so kids can follow along. My kids enjoy going to class.

I never thought that jiu-jitsu would become a hobby for me, and here I am going to every class and improving every day, I as a woman found in addition to a hobby something that will help me in my self defense if necessary, a lot of discipline and attention, the professionals at A-Force are amazing, the teachers are always very attentive, they like to make sure that you are learning the movements and doing them correctly, little by little you aren’t just a learner, but you are part of it from a big family. Moved to the island and was looking for a bjj academy for my 4 year old. So happy we found A-Force. The professors and coaches work well with the children and the environment is family friendly. If I can sum up the experience my baby is having - Being taught respect, healthy life choice through exercise, being challenged, and having lots of fun!
I had the fortune of starting jiu jitsu with Andre. I’m not sure if I would have stuck to it with anyone else. Since then, even though I live out of state I make it a point to visit whenever I’m in town. I’ve had the pleasure of since meeting professor Alex, Luan and Gregorio and can’t say enough good things about the academy. They all have great jiu jitsu and I learn from them each time, but they make it a point to be welcoming and kind to all levels for all goals and needs. They are all amazing with kids too!

I leave each class better than I came in. I've been to all locations (Port, GN, Manhasset, & Syosset) and the consistency across the board is exactly how a business should be ran. Above and beyond in their quality of teaching and professionalism. That's rare to find these days. I recommended this to my best friend and he signed up on the first day, will continue to do so with other friends/family.
I recently moved to Long Island and was looking for a BJJ school for my daughter to attend. A-Force Academy has been amazing! The teachers are great with kids and masters in the gentle art. I can already see the benefits with my daughter on and off the mat. Highly recommended!

The professors are always helping you and encouraging you to get better and better. They always have the best attitude. You will feel like you are at home. The atmosphere is great and when you are there you feel like you are around family. Everyone there is very nice and courteous. A-force is great for all ages and genders. Everyone is very respectful and will apply everything in the classes. Kids will learn a lot of values that are very important in Jiu Jitsu. Discipline and respect is taught to everyone. I’ve cross trained at a lot of different academies over the years. Thankfully I came across AForce after my academy closed. They were very welcoming, and there is a camaraderie that i haven’t experienced in any other academy; not to mention having amazing instructors that care about your journey and are amazing competitors. The children's program is amazing and makes me smile. It’s shocking to see what these little people can do after being trained. The professors (instructors) at A-force are top notch and are very knowledgeable. My daughter loves training there and the professors keep the class entertaining for kids while the kids learn discipline. I also goto the adult sessions and they are also amazing. Overall it’s a great workout, you learn some amazing moves and be part of a wonderful community!!
