Great BJJ program for kids. My daughter really enjoys the training. she is physically getting stronger and her confidence is glowing. The Profs are engaging and are no nonsense during class- good command of student’s attention and they demand respect and effort.

Instructors are respectful, professional, mindful of the audience and always there to provide support. My daughter started taking classes when she was 5 years old and has been going for a over a year. She absolutely loves it and asks to go multiple times a week. The instructors are fantastic and make the classes fun and exciting for the kids, while doing an outstanding job teaching them BJJ. My daughter's skills and confidence have grown tremendously, and BJJ training at A-Force has become an important part of her identity.

Our son just started his trial period at AFBJJ and so far the experience has been great. Great instructors, everyone is pleasant, they understand how to work with children at all different levels and they make it fun for them! I recently did the FREE women's self defense class and it was wonderful! I learned so much and all of the instructors Andre, Alex and Luan were very caring and really explained things well. I definitely learned a lot from the class that I can take with me for the rest of my life! Update: Our son is approaching his second year at this awesome academy. We are so happy that he's still training with incredible teachers. He's on his third belt and really feels accomplished every time he gets a stripe because he knows that his hard work is paying off!
My son has been training here for BJJ since 2018. The classes are set up well, incorporating both skills training and fun activities. He is now a yellow belt, and I can definitely see all of the training has paid off. Different professors coach on different days and my son does not have any preference - they're all great. I recently started training Muay Thai with Professor Alex. The sessions provide both a grueling workout, and improvement in the art. Alex has a great way of blending both. So give Aforce a try for yourself or your children. You will not regret it!

As a BJJ beginner it’s hard for me to comment on the technical aspect of training but one thing I can tell you is that if you are like me a bit older and slightly nervous to try something new this is the place for you. Probably the best martial arts academy I've been to in nyc. I've visited many martial arts academy and most of them were way too expensive and had limited scheduling. I'm attending Muay Thai classes here. The scheduling is flexible here and the price is so affordable, compared to numerous other martial arts academy. I'm really thankful for this place. Friendly and professional environment! The instructor Alex is also a really amazing person. He is really kind and attentive to all his students, ensuring they're doing ok. He's understanding and accommodates for you. I highly recommend this place!! Try the trial class and see if you like it! That's how I started too and signed up on the same day.
Went yesterday for my first free trial class and fell in love with the gym. The people are great and the coach is an excellent instructor who’s mantra is family. I felt the connection and will be making the gym my new home. I recommend it, specially if you want to grow in a healthy environment!
I love coming here for Muay Thai. I first came here in April 2021 to improve my cardio since I only lifted weights. Professor Alex has definitely helped me achieved that goal and, in addition, I’ve also become quicker, more agile and most importantly, healthier all thanks to him and his trainig methods. Asides from the health and physical gains you get from training here, what is most important and, the reason why I come every week, is the people. Everyone is extremely friendly and it genuinely feels like one big family.

Joining A Force BJJ Academy has been a life changing experience! I have been able to get my body in shape in a new and exciting way, while learning a skill that also challenges my mind. As a martial arts practitioner for over a decade, I can tell you that the culture of the school you go to is very important. The culture here is professional; leaving politics and personal issues aside, and focusing on the martial art during class. The instructors here are always friendly and welcoming. Always greet and acknowledge you when you go in. The students are average people like you and me, young and older from diverse walks of life. The price you pay per month is fair, considering that you can attend classes every business day of the month for one price. It’s much more engaging and social than a gym membership. The facility is clean, well lit, safe, and welcoming to beginners, as I have only trained for 3 months or so as of writing this review. Yes, it’s worth going in for a trial session. Getting into martial arts is a commitment, as the body needs time and effort to condition into fighting condition. If you like it here, stick it out for a few months, your efforts will definitely pay off regardless of what your goal is.
We signed up my daughter in mid June and she absolutely loves it at A Force BJJ. I love the family oriented environment and she truly enjoys attended every single class. Would recommend them over and over again!

I had been training BJJ elsewhere for about 5 or 6 years before I began training Muay Thai at A-Force in Great Neck during the pandemic as an alternative to BJJ. I immediately noticed Professor Alex's clear and effective instruction and the great energy he brought to his teaching. When I moved from Manhattan to the eastern part of Queens, I needed to find a new place to train BJJ as things opened up, so A-Force was a natural fit. The instruction from Professors Alex and Andre is always clear, effective, and consistent. They're also incredibly supportive and welcoming. I'm also especially impressed by how welcoming everyone at the academy is. Everyone is super supportive, helpful, and friendly on the mats, and the A-Force team is a joy to train with. There's a true family vibe here. But don't be fooled by the friendly vibe - this academy is filled with monsters on the mats.
My family and I have been students for three years and have made the best choice possible . Anti bullying training is amazing . Physical fitness is amazing . Professor Andre Alex and Luan and instructors are just AMAZING. I am 55 years old and disabled, my sons 18 and 12 have been students for 3-4 years now . Simply . AFORCE jujitsu is the best school in queens and Nassau . It’s a family , all the instructors and students are just amazing and loving . A true family atmosphere open to all!! Great workout . World class ranked jujitsu athletes teach the course and are active in competition , or self defense . The Thai boxing class is just awesome!!! Great for women children men. I love Brazilian Jui Jitsu, I’ve been a part of a few gyms and really love my time at A-Force. All the instructors are phenomenal, the other students are challenging and encouraging and I’d highly recommend this to anyone of any level
A Force Great Neck is a fantastic place to train. The instructors are friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgable. I have specific weight loss goals in mind, and they have taken the time to work with me to reach those goals. The academy is clean and provides ample space to roll. Everyone has been welcoming and thoughtful in their approach. I've watched the kids' classes, and the instructors are great with them. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu offers, self-defense, amazing cardio, weight loss opportunities, confidence, and discipline. If you are in the Nassau/Eastern Queens area, definitely stop down for a class.

The coaches are great, starting with professor Andre Monteiro who has been training, teaching and competing for more than 2 decades then professor Alex Oliveira one of the best BJJ black belts in the state and also a great MMA fighter and last but not least professor Luan Gomes a young black belt competitor who has won multiple championships. All of them are ready to help you and your kids achieve your goals in BJJ, Muay Thai and fitness for very accessible prices.

A-Force is a great, friendly environment to learn Muay Thai and BJJ. Before COVID, I was allowed to sit and watch the classes before I decided to join. Professors Alex and Luan are patient and make sure you understand the concepts of each sport. I took Muay Thai with Professor Alex for a year and a half. He takes the time to answer all my questions about technique and form, while making sure I'm doing everything right. Students are welcoming and help each other with training. Once the school was allowed to re-open, Professors Alex and Luan made sure the mats are cleaned between classes and COVID rules are followed.

The Academy is a well maintained facility with welcoming instructors that have sound and ample grappling experience. The professors keep up with modern techniques as well as more traditional based jiu-jitsu. Students here have a great overall grappling knowledge that starts from standing to a strong guard game. I’ve had a great interaction with the members, specially Alex who is a great professor. I would highly recommend anyone from the area to come and join the gym here

They do a great job here. Our son has multiple sensory sensitivities. This facility and coaching staff provide a nurturing and attentive setting. My son loves going and it is very good for his OT/PT needs. I can't say enough good things on what they do. I highly recommend them.
Highly recommended, amazing place to train!!! I started here a month ago, but have been to many different places over the years, and this is one of the best I have found. Alex is an incredible instructor and I love how he mixes up the classes to provide a great balance of technique and strength/ conditioning. He is extremely knowledgeable and attentive and has already made me better with some small adjustments. I have only gone to the Muay Thai classes to start, but will definitely look into the jiu jitsu in the future.

I took some classes here as visitor from another school and these guys treated me with tremendous hospitality. The students here are trained well and approach the sport the right way. These guys are as good as it gets when it comes to a training academy. Professor Alex is tough as nails but he's really patient when it comes to teaching both kids and adults. The mat and the equipment here are well maintained. The space is very clean. If you're new, don't hesitate to start your jiujitsu journey with this school. Students of all levels and genders are given the attention they need. If you've been training for some time, there are plenty of advanced belts to keep you busy and help you progress.
Great experience. I came in as a blue belt who hadn't trained in 3 years. It was hard to push myself back on the mats but I'm glad I finally did. And also glad it was at A force. Everyone is super cool, and the instructors really care about the students and their progression. The facility is very clean as well.
For our son Jiu Jitsu has been a very advantageous sport, giving him self-confidence and strength. Unlike prior engagements in other martial arts, Jiu Jitsu allowed our kid to experience real contact that is strenuous enough to build his body and character while not too crazy to break his bones, scare or injure him. Interestingly it is a fun activity that we never have to drag him to, he has always been excited to go there for the past 4 years (he's 10 now). I would attribute this positive experience to the studio's masters Andre and Alex who have been instrumental in setting up appropriate atmosphere for kids to learn. They're very engaging and can relate to kids amazingly well, making the experience so much more pleasant. Would strongly recommend you consider the sport and this particular studio for your kids, girls included.

I thought there was a catch to why this place got 5 stars all around. I totally get it now. Everyone is professional, cares about your progress in Jiu jitsu (not a gym where you just get beat up), and they aren't pushy about money and payment for the class. I recommend this for anyone. I have been training at the A Force Gym in Great Neck for two years. I have had a great experience during this time. The gym feels like a family. There are people from all different backgrounds that come together under the guidance of Professor Andre and Professor Alex to learn the philosophy and techniques of BJJ. Amazing academy! The first day I checked out the academy was the day I made up my mind to join. They all welcomed me and shook my hand and welcomed me into the family way before I even signed up. This made me really excited about doing a trial class the next day After my trial class, I was exhausted but Professor Andrea, Alex, and Luan all treated me with respect and such care that I knew I was in good hands. 3 months later, I might not be the best guy in there but I sure as heck am enjoying every moment of it. I had to change schools because I recently moved. A Force accepted me with open arms. This is more than a school...it's a family. The Professors are excellent. The instruction at this school is amazing and really has stepped up my game. I have checked out several schools, but A force by far is the best. Professor Tim is simply one of the best instructors period. I have been lucky enough to train with him a lot over the years and I can guarantee beyond a shadow of a doubt that his knowledge and skill as an instructor is unmatched. My boys have been going to BJJ for over a year and love it here because they are constantly learning new skills and have different routines to keep the students engaged. We also love Alex and Andre as their professors.

I was in Long Island from Ohio to visit family over the 4th of July holiday and dropped in to train with these folks. They were all super hospitable. There were about 9 of us for the morning class and Rokas was our instructor. The teacher and students couldn’t have been any friendly to this outsider. I’ll be sure to drop in every time I’m in town.
