I’ve been training here for the past 3 years. The gym feels like home and everyone is friendly here🙏
There are three different levels of classes you can join- beginners, intermediate and advanced, plus separate sessions for kids.
Trainings are 6 days a week and we work on routinely on techniques, pad work and sparring.
We also have gradings regularly and there are interclub fights for people interested in getting some fighting experience.
Raf is a great coach and there are many fighters who have won several belts that train here and are always happy to share their tips and tricks.
I recommend 8limbs to anyone who is thinking about learning martial arts. It has not only improved my fitness, stamina and confidence levels but also given me a sense of community, motivation and drive. 🫶
Incredible atmosphere, very friendly and knowledgeable instructors. Raf has done a great job at creating a really welcoming environment where it feels easy to learn, with no messing about. By far the best I’ve felt in a martial arts gym. Really really worth having a go if you are considering it.
I visited for just one session but the martial arts family vibe was super welcoming. Great equipment and facilities, very clean. The coaching was great. Sparring was playful and technical, I didnt feel any egos on the mat. There is a beautiful style of Muay Thai being tought here. Thanks to Raff and Matty and everyone else on the mat.
Excellent BJJ class on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Great instructors, no egos, everyone is looking out for each other. Feels like a great brotherhood.
I recently attended classes here and initially enjoyed the training itself, however I was quite disappointed with the hygiene standards.
The toilet is not clean, and the mats during class had visible hair and debris, likely due to multiple sessions running back-to-back without cleaning in between. Given the nature of martial arts training, where people are barefoot and in close contact, this is quite concerning from a hygiene and health perspective.
Also, the trainer offers no structured stretching. After such a high-intensity class, the final few minutes are instead dedicated to additional high-intensity exercises rather than a proper cool-down. This may increase the risk of injury, particularly in a class involving striking and kicking.
It’s a shame, as the class itself had potential, but the cleanliness of the facilities and overall structure would need to improve for me to feel comfortable returning. I had paid £60 for a full month but chose not to return after just two classes, as my health and safety come first.
Update: Following this review, the team reached out to me directly, apologised and issued a full refund, which I do appreciate.
