One Team 24 Jiu Jitsu Caerphilly is a community of individuals who share a love and passion for martial arts. We've created an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes growth, development and well-being for all members, regardless of age, gender, ability, experience, background or any other unnecessarily perceived boundaries. Our children's and youth programme is a key part of the larger community and we are actively working to build relationships across all ages and experiences

Adam Johns

Purple Belt

Long time student and a respected member of the community Adam brings a lot of experience and a direct no nonsense approach to Jiu Jitsu.

Our resident leg lock expert DC is an extremely methodical technician when it comes to all things no gi and leg locks. With a vast amount of mat time and experience under his belt his teachings are felt throughout the whole club, adding new dimensions to our members games.

Elliot Ryall

Purple Belt; Black Belt - 1st degree

Elliot is a true life long martial artist and head of striking at 24JJ. He has 10yrs Brazilian Jiu-jitsu experience.

Ioan o'hanlon

Black Belt

Ioan is our resident wrestling and Judo coach. With 15 years Judo under his belt he is currently ranked as first Dan. A former Welsh champion in various weight divisions, he brings a wealth of experience backed up by passion and drive for the art. Gold medalist in various wrestling competitions, he is also a level 2 and 3 qualified PT.

Jon Bull

Black Belt

Extremely experienced, time served black belt under Bryn Jenkins and the 24JJ banner. Jon has a super offensive style of Jiu Jitsu and is excellent at sharing his knowledge. Although having a complete game Jon is known for having a top shelf level closed guard with relentless attacks coming from every angle.

Kai Maybury

Black Belt

Kai is a dedicated practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu who has humbly earned the rank of black belt. With over 15 years of experience in the art, he has also explored other disciplines such as Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, and Taekwondo, making him well-rounded in the martial arts world. He has gained valuable experience through his competition in both gi and no-gi grappling. As an instructor, Kai is passionate about sharing the love of Jiu Jitsu and creating a positive, inclusive environment for all to thrive.

Outstanding Club with a Supportive Community! I’ve been training here for almost six months now, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From day one I noticed the incredibly welcoming atmosphere and truly supportive ethos. The environment is ego-free and focused on helping everyone improve together. Loads on offer including Gi and No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, MMA and dedicated beginners courses. The instructors are knowledgeable, approachable, and take the time to ensure proper technique and safety. The guys are really welcoming and respectful to any one regardless of skill level and ability. I joined in January on the beginners course and it was the best thing i ever did. Its a real community in this gym, everyone is there for each other and happy to help!

An awesome club and great place to train! Attended one of the beginner courses which is an excellent way to dip your toe into the world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Great teaching from Kai and the other instructors. The existing club members have all been really welcoming to us newbies - they give you helpful tips and advice as they're strangling you! :-) I highly recommend anyone thinking of trying out BJJ to give it a go. It's a great detox for the mind and will get you fit in no time. It's awesome fun and will certainly satisfy those with a competitive streak. And if you're not, who knew that getting arm-barred, strangled, smothered - the list goes on - could be such a laugh?! Go on, you know you want to!!

Posting on behalf of my husband Cameron. Great gym, especially for beginners. The coaches explain things clearly and are patient, which makes learning a lot less intimidating. Everyone is friendly and respectful, and the overall vibe is welcoming with no egos. Classes are well run and the gym is clean. Definitely a good place to start jiu-jitsu.

I joined in December ,a few months after my son started training here, and he enjoyed it so much that I decided to give it a try myself. From my very first class, I felt welcomed straight away. Even though I was the only woman there that day, the atmosphere was so friendly and respectful that it genuinely felt like I already knew everyone. The sessions are well structured and supportive of all abilities and fitness levels. You also get the chance to train and learn alongside people with different levels of experience, which really helps you improve. Training here has made me feel more confident and strong, and it’s been amazing for stress relief. It’s also a great workout. I’ve just finished the six-week beginner course and it’s been a really positive experience. A big thank you to Kai, who led all of the beginner sessions and made the course so enjoyable and supportive. I’d highly recommend it to anyone thinking about starting jiu-jitsu.

Kai is a brilliant coach and support. This gym is way more than a BJJ gym. It’s a community that supports you to achieving your goals and levelling up. Great bunch of guys go here. Sadly I don’t live in the area so not a regular, but would recommend to anyone, local or pass through, all welcome.

Amazing place to train jui jitsu and MMA. Every coach is extremely helpful, patient, and really friendly. I've just finished the beginners course and it was amazing and such good value for money, I can't recommend it and this gym enough!

Very very friendly club. Started in the beginners course in January and felt very welcomed. I also joined in with the other classes, the instructors and the other members were very helpful and welcoming to me as a beginner. 10/10 would recommend this club, loved every session so far!
