Love this gym. I’ve trained at several gyms and this has the best community, coaching, and facility. It’s super clean, plenty of mat space, and always a great time.

My daughter has had an incredible experience at the 10th Planet Portland kids BJJ class. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about sharing their love for the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The classes provide a perfect balance of technique, drilling, and live rolling, ensuring that students develop a strong foundation in this complex martial art. Not only has my daughter's BJJ skills improved, but her overall confidence and discipline have grown as well. If you're looking for an engaging and supportive environment for your child to learn BJJ, I highly recommend 10th Planet Portland.

If you’re in Portland looking to learn jiu jitsu for the first time, you’re not going to find a better place than this gym. I came in with 0 experience having only dropped into a couple gyms around for trial runs, and felt more comfortable at 10th planet than anywhere else. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, no one is there with anything to prove or any ego, everyone is there with the desire to improve themselves and doing it for the love of the game. When you start you’ll most likely decide to stick to the fundamentals class, which is great since as a beginner you’ll only be rolling with other beginners who are starting from scratch like you. As you build your confidence you can start going to open mat after a while, where you can roll with more experienced grapplers and learn even more. Coaches never make you feel like you’re bothering them or wasting their time, and in fact will probably check in on you periodically and will always give you the extra time to go over a technique or answer a question.

After only a few short lessons I saw an amazing boost in confidence and kindness from my two girls age 6 and 8 from their kids program. The gym is full of incredibly talented and nice people. They worked amazingly smoothly making us feel at home and just went ahead and adjusted classes to accommodate my daughters who have no experience. Truly couldn't recommend these guys and gals highly enough.

This was one of the best drop-in experiences I’ve had yet. At least 6+ individuals came across the mat to introduce themselves and welcome me. As an older bjj roller, the younger guys that were clearly more talented than me paced down to where I was at and were super respectful. You guys are a class act, keep it up! Jimmy, good luck on your competition this weekend!
