Newry is a regular venue for BJJ tournaments in Northern Ireland. Empire Grappling holds its All Ireland Open in the city, and All Stars BJJ has run its Northern Ireland and Ireland events here.
Around three in four events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, along with absolute categories, and around half include kids divisions. March is the busiest month, followed by February, with an event in November.
