Indianapolis is the centre of Indiana's BJJ competition scene, with regular events also held in Noblesville, Fort Wayne, Columbus, South Bend and Plainfield.
The UFC BJJ Open has brought a major national event to Indianapolis. NEWBREED holds its Indianapolis Championship in spring and autumn, FUJI BJJ runs the Indiana State Championship and the Fort Wayne Summer Championship, and Grappling Industries visits Indianapolis several times a year.
Around half of events offer both Gi and No-Gi, and over 40% include kids divisions. Adult entries typically cost $35–$175 depending on the organiser. November and October are the busiest months.
