Fayetteville has a steady BJJ tournament calendar for the Sandhills region, with an occasional event in nearby Spring Lake.
The Newbreed Fayetteville Fall Championship is the most frequent recurring event, and Ultimate Battle Grounds runs its own BJJ series. Local events include the Battle of Spring Lake Tournament, Battle at Bragg, King of the Blue Belts, Thunderdome 2: Last White Belt Standing and an American Jiu Jitsu League team tournament. Gi divisions are slightly more common than No-Gi, and around a third of events include an absolute. October is the busiest month, followed by September and December.
