Emeryville hosts a regular schedule of grappling events in the East Bay, with competitions also running in nearby Hayward and Alameda.
BJJ events here come from a mix of local organizers. The Oakland Grappling League and 510 Renegade both run tournaments in Emeryville, BJJ Tour has held its East Bay event here, and the Legacy Jiu Jitsu Championships has run in nearby Alameda.
Gi divisions are more common than No-Gi, and kids divisions appear at some events. A small number of events include an absolute division, and rulesets range from IBJJF to submission only. December is the busiest month, followed by October and February.
