Osorio Training Center is proud to host an upcoming Muay Thai Point Sparring Event, bringing athletes, coaches, and supporters together to celebrate one of the world’s most respected combat sports.
Known as the Art of Eight Limbs, Muay Thai emphasizes discipline, strategy, conditioning, and respect—demanding both physical strength and mental focus. This point sparring format highlights skill, control, and technique, allowing competitors to showcase their timing, footwork, and precision in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Whether you’re a practitioner, a supporter of combat sports, or new to Muay Thai, this event offers an opportunity to experience the intensity, athleticism, and culture that make Muay Thai such a powerful and transformative discipline.

ISKA Semi-Contact No-Knockout Controlled Sparring Rules
1. No Knockouts or Technical Knockouts. Any KOs or TKOs will result in immediate athlete disqualification.
2. All fights will be carefully overseen by ISKA state officials.
3. All matches are Semi-Contact, and athletes are only allowed to compete at low-medium impact.
4. Athletes not following the rules will be warned 1-2 times before being disqualified.
5. Fighter safety is top priority, and referees can intervene or stop a match at their discretion for a safety concern.
6. Athletes must follow the referee’s commands at all times or risk disqualification.
7. Competitors must accurately disclose their fighting experience when registering and failure to do so will result in disqualification.|
8. Matches are made within a 10lb weight allowance; 15lbs for athletes 185lbs and up. Open weight class begins at 224lbs.
Disclosing Fighting Experience
When counting previous fights, include all PKBs, PMTs, MDLs, other point matches, smokers, amateur fights, and any other matches in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and MMA. For example, 2 MDLs, 5 PMTs, and 1 smoker would equal 8 previous fights.
ABC Classes
Athletes are placed into classes based on their previous number of fights.Fighters with any number of amateur fights, but under 10 matches total are placed in the “A” class.
“C class Amateur” - “A” class athletes that have completed 10 or more semi-contact sparring matches are now C class Amateur Level athletes.
“A” class athletes have 7-9 semi contact matches.
“B” class athletes have 4-6 semi contact matches.
“C” class athletes have 0-3 semi contact matches.
Required Gear
• All adult, junior, and youth athletes 13 years and above will use 16oz boxing gloves
Youth athletes 12 years and under will use 12oz boxing gloves.

Illegal techniques
A. Elbows
B. Groin strikes
C. Head Butts
D. Knee strikes directed to the head
E. Linear or thrusting kicks directed to the knees of a weight-bearing leg
F. Biting
G. Spitting at the opponent
H. Hair pulling
I. Attacks to the throat
J. Thumbing or eye gouging
K. Strikes directed to the back of the head or the spine
L. Striking your opponent while grounded
M. Hip, shoulder, or leg throws (No hip tosses, grape vining, reaping, or lifting an opponent)
N. Grasping the opponent’s lower back while also forcing an opponent's spine to hyperextend
O. Intentionally falling on a downed opponent, pressing elbow or knee upon him/her
P. Wrestling, back or arm locks or any similar judo or wrestling hold
Q. Trips or sweeps using the side of the foot or hooking the opponent’s leg.
R. Catching an opponent's kick and pushing an opponent for MORE than two steps in any direction without attempting to deliver an attacking technique. (i.e., permissible to catch your opponent’s kick, hold your opponent’s leg, and take up to two steps)
S. If a fighter’s leg is caught while kicking, he/she may not intentionally ground themselves
T. Striking a downed fighter or fighter entangled in the ropes
U. Attempting to 'pile-drive' an opponent's head into the canvas
V. Striking on a break
W. Striking after a bell
X. Holding the ropes/cage or using the ropes/cage while striking or clinching
Y. Holding the opponent’s shorts
Z. Timidity or causing intentional delays in the action (Repeatedly or intentionally avoiding engagement or contact with the opponent, spitting out the mouthpiece, or falling out of the mat or ring to cause delay)
AA. Unsportsmanlike behavior including use of abusive language and/or gestures.
BB. Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee; Once the referee has called for a stop of the action to protect a fighter who is unable to continue to compete in the fight, fighters shall cease all offensive actions against their opponent.
CC. Interference from fighter’s corners or seconds; Interference is defined as any action or activity aimed at disrupting the fight or causing an unfair advantage to be given to a corner’s fighter. Corners are not allowed to distract the referee or influence the actions of the referee in any fashion.
