Concord hosts a number of BJJ tournaments serving the wider Charlotte area. Encounter Combat runs regular jiu jitsu events in the city, including a winter event in December, and FUJI BJJ holds its Charlotte Winter Championship in Concord. The NEWBREED Charlotte New Year Open has also been held there.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are offered in equal measure, and around a quarter of events include kids divisions. Absolute divisions are less common. November is the busiest month, followed by August and December.
