Austin is one of the busiest BJJ tournament cities in Texas, with events held across the city and in nearby Leander, Cedar Park and Round Rock.
Grappling Industries Austin is the most frequent event by a clear margin. The ADCC US Open has been held in Austin several times, and NAGA, Tap Cancer Out, United Grappling and FUJI BJJ (Austin Fall Championship) also run events here. Other competitions include Texas Baddest Blue, the Jaspr $20k Invitational 10th Planet Austin Qualifier and Enigma Austin's round-robin tournaments.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are both widely offered, and close to half of events include an absolute division. Around three in ten events run kids divisions. Round-robin brackets are common, and ADCC and IBJJF rules both appear. Adult entry is typically around $30–$112. Autumn is peak season, with October the busiest month, followed by August, September and November.
