San Antonio is one of the busiest BJJ tournament cities in Texas. Grappling Industries San Antonio is by far the most frequent event, running many times a year.
NAGA holds its San Antonio Grappling Championship here, Ohana Academy runs the Ohana Open in September, and United Grappling and Tap Cancer Out also bring events to the city. Some tournaments take place in nearby Seguin.
October is the busiest month by a wide margin, followed by January, April, July and March. Gi divisions are a little more common than No-Gi, kids divisions appear at close to four in ten events, and around a third include an absolute division. Round-robin brackets under house rules are typical, and entry usually costs around $30–$98.
