TMIYC - TAP ME IF YOU CAN (GI & MO GI Tournament)

Location: Fightschool Hannover, Vahrenwalder Str. 211, 30165 Hannover

Doors Open @ 8:00 am. | Event Starts @ 9:00 am.

Brackets Format: On this edition there will be an opportunity for everyone to try out their skills during the competition. All competitors will be guaranteed to fight at least 2 fights.

2 Competitors: Best out of three

3-4 Competitors: Round Robin

5-7 Competitors: Round Robin (4 Fights Limited)

8+ Competitors: Round Robin (2 Fights Limited)

During this tournament we will have at 5 competition areas and a warming up area.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORS

We will have a maximum of 350 competitors.

WEIGH-INS

Competition starts on all mats at 9:00 am.

All competitors have to weigh-in at least 1 hour before your bracket starts.*

*Athletes competing in both divisions may check the weight only once.

Please bring your ID to the weigh-in!

EVERY COMPETITOR has to check in at the weigh-in, to verify your presence.

How to change weightclass or cancel.

500 gr. overweight is tollerated.

Above 500 gr. overweight athletes will be disqualified, there won’t be the chance to

enter another weightclass, athletes have to be professional concerning their weight.

They will get the chance to weigh in again until the end of the official weigh-in-time.

There won’t be any refunds if you miss weight.

DIVISION MERGERS

After deadline, competitors who do not have anyone in their division group may be merged with another division. All athletes who remain solo in their divisions once brackets are released means had no default merges available to them, and therefore there are no matches available for that competitor. They will receive a full refund .

ABSOLUTE DIVISIONS

The Absolute Division is open weight and combines all skill levels. Brown/Black Belt rules will be applied.

The bracket will follow a single elimination format.

Winners of the Absolute Division will receive a Championship Belt.

⚠️ Important: A minimum of 12 athletes must be registered in the division for the belt to be awarded.

FIGHT TIME

Stay updated before and during the tournament on Smoothcomp, follow the live brackets on the screens or on your phone. It is your own responsibility to show up on time at the Warming Up Area. Find out your dynamic starting time.

RULES

How to win in regular time: The fight can only be won by submission or when the opponent receives 3 or more penalties for passivity. In the regular round, there are no points, no advantages and no negative points. If any of the competitors exceeds the limit of 3 penalties in the regular time, the overtime will not be played and the fight will be lost by the person who received more penalties or was the first to receive the third penalty in the case of a "draw".

How to win in overtime (Starting from Back control): Submit your opponent faster than he or she can submit you. If there is no submission by end of overtime, the competitor with the fastest escape time in that match will win.

In case of no submission or escape, the referee will decide the winner based on the submission attempts during the match. If neither competitor has a clear advantage in submission attempts, the referee may consider overall aggression, control, and positional dominance when making the final decision.

1 coach per academy/gym. No one is allowed to coach at the mats, everyone has to stay behind the mats.

Where is the tournament held and what time does it start?

The tournament is at Fightschool Hannover, Vahrenwalder Str. 211, 30165 Hannover. Doors open at 8:00 am and the event starts at 9:00 am.

Can I register late or at the event?

No. This tournament is pre-registration only, and late registrations or registrations at the event are not accepted.

What are the registration prices and deadlines?

Early Bird Registration is 50,-€ if you register before January 18 at 11:59pm. Late Registration is 60,-€ if you register before January 25 at 11:59pm. The Absolute Division costs 20,-€.

Is there a spectator entrance fee?

Yes. The entrance fee is 10,-€.

What competition format will be used?

All competitors are guaranteed at least 2 fights. Divisions with 2 competitors use best out of three; 3-4 competitors use round robin; 5-7 competitors use round robin with a 4-fight limit; and 8+ competitors use round robin with a 2-fight limit.

How many competitors and competition areas will there be?
