We believe in fairness to be the utmost important value in our tournaments. When the judges see a competitor having signed up in the wrong division or is trying to hide his/her belts/experience, the organisers have the right to change the bracket or disqualify the athlete. In severe cases the we will ban the competitor for life from our tournaments.

WEIGHT-INS

  1. All competitors are allowed to weight-in on the day before the first day of the tournament at the venue, starting 6 p.m. and closing 7:30 p.m. Please bring a valid ID (passport, ID card) to the weight-ins. Weight-in must be done barefeet in fight-clothes (shorts/spats and eventual rashguard). Fighters who weight-in topless must fight topless in competiton. Female fighters MUST wear a rashguard or sportsbra.
  2. Fighters, who haven't done the weight-in on the day before the tournament are asked to come to the weight-in on the day of the tournament starting at 9:30 a.m. All fighters must have their weight checked and cleared at least 15 minutes their division starts but not later than 10:30 a.m. this day.
  3. We will have up to two scales and weight-in points ready on both days.
  4. After successful weight-in all competitors will be given a wristband they have to wear all day until their first match. Before the first match the wristband will be taken off only by the referee on each mat. You will not be allowed to fight if you don't wear your wristband when you enter the mat for your first match.

TOLERANCES

The scales used for the weight-in are calibrated fitness studio quality scales. As not everybody has access to a scale with that precision, the organiser will grant athletes a weight-in tolerance of 0,5kg. This means: if you've signed up for a weight-class e.g. "-80kg", the number on our scale can be up until -80.5kg, but not a single gram more.

  • The athlete is solely responsible for managing his/her weight. If the athlete is heavier than the upper limit of the weight-class + 0,5kg, the athlete will be disqualified without a refund and can not compete on this event.
  • The organiser will not allow athletes outside of the weight-class +0,5kg limit to compete in this weight class as this would not be fair to the other athletes who managed their weight accordingly.
  •  Athletes can change their registration until 2 days prior to the event and adjust the weight-class they will compete in, if they do not want to fight in the weight class they have initially signed up for.
  •  Changing the weight class an athlete will compete in after the date shown at "last chance to edit" will not be possible, hence no changes can be made on the competition day or the day prior.

COACHES/COMPANIONS

  1. Only 2 coaches per team are allowed to enter the venue! No exceptions. Every coach will get a wristband she/he has to wear all day during the stay in the venue.
  2. Boys and Girls under the age of 14 are allowed to have one parent with them for competition. Wristbands will be given to them at the weight-in. The parent has to accompany their kids to the weight-in to get that wristband.
  3. We only have limited space for spectators or other companions available. Tickets will be sold onsite for 10€/piece until no longer available.

SMOOTHCOMP

  1. We organise our event using Smoothcomp and we ask all coaches and fighters to check their times in the event schedule and mat schedule on Smoothcomp. If you are not weighed-in 15 minutes prior to the start of your class you will be disqualified.
  2. After the date listed under "Last chance for 100% refund" you won't receive any refund when cancelling your participation.
  3. When the schedule shows a sign "Go to WarmUp" for your match you should move to the warm-up area right next to the fighting area.
  4. When the schedule shows a sign "Be ready in WarmUp" you must be in the warm-up area ready to step on the mat for your fight. You will be called only once to come to the mat for your fight and when you don't show up immediately you will be declared the looser of the match.
  5. We will post a schedule of the event on Smoothcomp 1 day prior to the competition with all brackets released.

MERGING OF CLASSES/ONLY ONE COMPETITOR IN A CLASS

  1. You can follow all registrations easily on Smoothcomp. If you have no opponent in your division you are free to move your registration to another class or age group until 2 days before the tournament 11:59 p.m.
  2. If you are alone in your age- and weight-class in your division, we will move your registration on the day before the tournament by either one weight-class up/down or by one age group down (Masters adults only). If this is not possible you will stay in this weight-class and you will be awarded the gold medal in this group.
  3. You have to weight-in in time within the limits of this weight-class. When you are over the weight-limit of this class you will be disqualified and will not get the gold medal in this class.
  4. After having successfully weighed in in your weight-class and you are the only competitor you will receive the gold medal during the award ceremony on the tournament day when the first award ceremonies will be done after the kids and masters divisions have fought.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where can I do the weight-in?
All competitors may weight-in the day before the first day of the tournament at the venue, starting 6 p.m. and closing 7:30 p.m.; fighters who miss that may weight-in on the day of the tournament starting at 9:30 a.m., but all fighters must have their weight checked and cleared at least 15 minutes before their division starts and not later than 10:30 a.m. that day.
What do I need to bring and wear for weight-in?
Bring a valid ID (passport or ID card); weight-in must be done barefoot in fight-clothes (shorts/spats and possible rashguard), fighters who weight-in topless must fight topless, and female fighters MUST wear a rashguard or sportsbra.
Is there a weight tolerance and what happens if I exceed it?
A weight-in tolerance of 0.5kg is granted (for example a -80kg class allows up to 80.5kg on the scale); if an athlete is heavier than the upper limit plus 0.5kg they will be disqualified without a refund and cannot compete in the event.
Can I change my registration or weight class, and what are the refund rules?
You can change your registration or adjust your weight-class until 2 days before the tournament (until 11:59 p.m.); after the date listed under “Last chance for 100% refund” you will not receive any refund when cancelling your participation.
How many coaches or companions can enter and are there spectator tickets?
Only 2 coaches per team are allowed to enter the venue and each coach receives a wristband to wear all day; boys and girls under 14 may have one parent who receives a wristband at weight-in, and limited spectator tickets will be sold onsite for 10€/piece until no longer available.
What are the wristband rules on competition day?
After successful weight-in competitors are given a wristband they must wear all day until their first match; the wristband will only be removed by the referee before the first match and you will not be allowed to fight without it.
What prize money is offered and what are the conditions to receive it?
Absolute Novice winner: 250€; Absolute Beginner winner: 500€; Absolute Intermediate winner: 500€; cash prizes are paid only if at least 6 starters are registered, have weighed in, and are on the mat in time in the absolute class, and the recipient pays any transaction fees.
How and when will event brackets and match calls be posted and enforced?
A schedule with all brackets will be posted on Smoothcomp one day prior to the competition; competitors must check their times on Smoothcomp, move to the warm-up area when the schedule shows “Go to WarmUp,” and be ready in the warm-up when it shows “Be ready in WarmUp,” since you will be called only once and failure to show immediately will result in being declared the loser.
What happens if I am the only competitor in my class?
If you are alone in your age- and weight-class you may move your registration to another class or age group until 2 days before the tournament 11:59 p.m.; if still alone the day before the tournament your registration will be moved by either one weight-class up/down or one age group down (Masters adults only), and if that is not possible you will remain in the class and—after successfully weighing in within the class limits—be awarded the gold medal during the award ceremony.
