Description
Texas has never been a place where greatness is simply handed out. It is earned.
Texas Shootout Championships was created to expand the wrestling experience, and make it accessible to all.
Texas Shootout Championships is open to competitors 18 years and older from all grappling backgrounds. Whether you come from Freestyle Wrestling, Greco-Roman, Judo, Sambo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or another grappling discipline, you’re welcome to step onto the mat and put your takedown skills to the test.
Built around the most explosive and decisive element of wrestling—the takedown—Texas Shootout brings competitors face-to-face in a fast-paced combat sports environment where there is nowhere to hide. No stalling for a decision. No waiting for someone else to determine who controlled the fight. When the whistle blows, the mission is simple:
Take your opponent down. Get back on your feet. Do it again.
But Texas Shootout is more than a tournament.
It is a championship promotion built to create recognizable competitors, rivalries, title contenders, and champions. Our inaugural tournament will establish the first generation of Texas Shootout Champions, but winning the title is only the beginning. Champions will have something worth defending, contenders will have something worth chasing, and every new competitor who enters the Shootout has an opportunity to make a name for themselves.
We want to give wrestlers another road to glory beyond the traditional scholastic, collegiate, and international pathways—a place where accomplished veterans can continue competing and hungry newcomers can test themselves against them.
The result is wrestling presented with the energy of combat sports and the pride of Texas competition.
Big takedowns.
Hard scrambles.
Championship rivalries.
A crowd close enough to feel every impact.
And when two wrestlers step onto the mat, reputation means nothing.
You either take your opponent down—or they take you down.
Welcome to Texas Shootout Championships.
Come take your shot.
