EVENT FORMAT

Elevate Grappling Company provides both Gi and No-Gi competition for youth and teen athletes.

  • No-Gi: ADCC-based rules
  • Gi: IBJJF-based rules
  • Double-elimination brackets and or guarenteed two matches.
  • Competitors compete for third place β€” no double bronze

AGE GROUPS

  • 4 years (COED)
  • 5–6 years
  • 7–8 years
  • 9–10 years
  • 11–12 years
  • 13–14 years
  • 15–17 years

Competitors must register using their correct age, weight, belt/experience level, and division.

Elevate Grappling Company reserves the right to combine divisions when necessary to create competitive brackets.

MATCH LENGTHS

Ages 4:  2-minute matches

Ages 5–12:  3-minute matches

Ages 13–14:  4-minute matches

Ages 15–17:  5-minute matches

Specific rules, legal techniques, scoring criteria, and penalties are determined by the competitor's age and division.

WEIGH-INS

All competitors are required to weigh in one hour prior to their match time.

One Pound Allowance.

Competitors must make their registered weight division within the permitted event allowance. Competitors who do not make weight may be moved to an appropriate division when one is available.

Final brackets will be published 24-48 hours prior to tournament start time

BRACKETS, SCHEDULE & MAT ASSIGNMENTS

Final brackets, estimated match times, and mat assignments will be published through Smoothcomp.

Competitors should monitor Smoothcomp throughout the tournament because match times may change as the event progresses.

Competitors must report to their assigned mat/staging area at least 15 minutes before their scheduled match time.

Athletes are responsible for monitoring their brackets and being prepared when called.

Failure to report after being called may result in disqualification and advancement of the opposing competitor.

Competitors registered in both Gi and No-Gi divisions are responsible for monitoring both brackets.

WHO CAN COMPETE?

Elevate Grappling Company events are open to competitors from all academies and affiliations.

Athletes do not need to qualify or receive an invitation to compete.

GI COMPETITION

Gi divisions will follow IBJJF-based rules, including age-appropriate restrictions on legal and illegal techniques.

Competitors must wear an appropriate competition Gi and meet uniform requirements at inspection.

NO-GI COMPETITION

No-Gi divisions will follow ADCC-based rules, modified where necessary for youth safety and age-appropriate competition.

Legal techniques vary according to the competitor's age and experience division.

Competitors and coaches are responsible for reviewing the applicable rules before competing.

REGISTRATION CORRECTIONS

Competitors are responsible for ensuring that their Smoothcomp registration information is accurate, including name, academy, age, weight, belt/experience level, and Gi/No-Gi division.

Corrections should be made before the registration correction deadline.

Elevate Grappling Company may move or combine competitors when necessary to create appropriate and competitive brackets.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUND POLICY

Registration fees are refundable when cancellation is requested NLT October 18th, 2026.

When approved, a tournament credit may be issued toward a future Elevate Grappling Company event.

Credits are subject to Elevate Grappling Company's registration and cancellation policies.

COACHES

Each registered academy will receive 2 Coach Passes.

Only properly credentialed coaches will be permitted inside designated coaching areas.

SPECTATORS

Spectator Admission: $15

Toddlers and kids under 4 years of age are free!

SPORTSMANSHIP & COMPETITION INTEGRITY

Elevate Grappling Company is committed to fair, competitive matches and a professional tournament environment.

Closeouts: Competitors are expected to compete when matched against teammates, friends, or athletes from affiliated academies. Intentional closeouts or predetermined match results are prohibited.

Sandbagging: Competitors must register in the appropriate age and experience division. Knowingly registering for a lower skill or age division to gain an unfair competitive advantage may result in removal from the division or event and may affect eligibility for future Elevate Grappling Company tournaments.

NO GREASING / SKIN LUBRICANTS

Greasing is strictly prohibited.

Competitors may not apply oil, lotion, petroleum jelly, lubricants, excessive moisturizer, or any other substance to the skin or body that could make the athlete excessively slippery or provide an unfair competitive advantage.

Competitors may be inspected by tournament officials before or during competition.

Any competitor determined by an Elevate Grappling Company official to have intentionally used a substance for the purpose of greasing will be automatically disqualified from the event.

DISQUALIFICATION FOR GREASING IS FINAL AND NO REFUND OR EVENT CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED.
