PBJJF RULES BOOK

FORMAT - DOUBLE ELIMINATION (Except Adult & Master Brown and Black Divisions)

All divisions follow a double elimination format, except for the Adult and Master Brown and Black Belt divisions (male and female), which are single elimination.

• In the double elimination format, winners advance in the main bracket. Athletes who lose a match move to a secondary bracket, giving them the opportunity to compete for third place.

• In this system, the athlete who wins all matches receives the gold medal, the finalist earns silver medal, and the winner of the secondary bracket earns bronze medal.

• Please note that the double elimination format is guaranteed only if all athletes in the bracket attend and compete. PBJJF cannot ensure the attendance of all registered athletes.
• For the Adult and Master Brown and Black Belt divisions (male and female), the format is single elimination only.
