Description

The Old Pueblo Jiu-Jitsu Open Winter Classic 2026 -  will take place at Catalina Magnet High School (Hines Gym). The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition will offer kids, Juveniles, adult (Male and Female). Gi and NOGI divisions. We will have a master division (s) 35 + years, and Senior division (s) 43 + years.

THE TOURNAMENT IS PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY. We highly recommend you register for Gi and Nogi to guarantee two fights day of tournament. 

Adults/Masters/Kids/Teens Gi/NOGI Prices:

Early Bird Registration: July 24th  - September 24th 11:59 PM  1 Division – $85 | 2 Divisions Discount Combo Pricing - $155 ($15 savings)

Normal Registration: September 25th - October 18th 11:59 PM 1 Division – $94 | 2 Divisions Discount Combo Pricing - $173 ($15 savings)

REGISTRATION CLOSES: November 3rd at 11:59 PM

SPECTATOR FEE: $15, cash only at the door. Kids 6 and under are free!! $15 fee is due at the door, regardless of your child's registration. 

COMPETITOR LISTS: Competitor Lists will be LIVE throughout the registration process and can be viewed by checking out the registrations tab on the event page. We encourage everyone to login by the last day of registration and check their details along with the competitor lists, and not wait until the brackets are published and locked in to confirm such details.

CHANGING DIVISIONS: After registration closes, all competitors, coaches or parents have until 1pm the following day to make any changes to their registrations. 

WEIGHT DIVISIONS: Located when you register. 

DIVISION MERGERS: After deadline, competitors who do not have anyone in their division group may be merged with another division. All athletes who remain solo in their divisions once brackets are released means had no default merges available to them, and therefore there are no matches available for that competitor. They will receive a full refund . Boys and girls are sometimes matched in the same divisions. Kids only 4-9 years.

REFUND POLICY: We issue refunds only when you can’t be matched. Do not be afraid to register even if nobody is in your division. We will fully refund you, if we can't match you. This will insure others to jump in!  If you cancel for a medical reason, we can issue a credit for a future event. 

BRACKETS and SCHEDULE: 48 hours prior to the tournament, the event brackets and schedule will be released. You will be able to locate both on the event page brackets and schedule tab.

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE: Doors open at 8:15 am. Kids/Juniors Start at 9 am to 12 pm. Adults start at 12:30 pm to 3 pm. Academy awards at 3:30 pm. 

WEIGH-INS: Day of tournament only! You will be allowed to weigh in, 30 minutes before you compete day of tournament. We recommend being in 1 hour before. Be on time! After weighing in, please stay in the bullpen until you fight. Location for weigh-ins will be at Catalina High School (Hines Gym) on Pima and Dodge. Please make sure you do weigh ins, in order to avoid disqualification. Wearing the uniform is required! Make sure your uniform is the right size. 
There is only one opportunity to check the weight. Competitors who do not meet the division's weight limit are subjected to disqualification. 1 pound over will be allowed.  

COACH & CROWD: We will have 1 chair on each side of every score table, 1 for each coach of the competitor on the mat. The only other people allowed within the barricades during the tournament are the competitors on the mat having their match. Competitors on deck need to wait in bullpen at all times. Each Coach will receive a bracelet to enter the barricade area. Each team will get one coaches bracelet per 10 athletes. 

MEDALS and PHOTOS: Beautiful gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to all podium finishers. Keep in mind this is a single elimination tournament and there will only be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals. During the post-week of events, we will upload an album of an event's podium photos to our Facebook page. 

TEAM TROPHIES: Team Trophies will be awarded to top three adult academy GI/NOGI combined. A separate trophy will be for kids too. If your team does the absolute division and wins, this will give your team extra points.

MEDIC ON HAND: There will be a trained and professional medic on sight. 

PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER ON HAND: Action Shots.
