New York State Championships 2026
Tarrytown, United States
Tarrytown, United States
Beginning with this year’s New York State Championships, weigh-ins will take place 15–20 minutes before an athlete’s first match, with a +1 kg allowance for Bantams and a +2 kg allowance for Intermediate through Adult divisions to account for the gi.
If you fail to make weight before your match starts, you will be moved up to the next weight class or division only if that division has not yet started. If you miss weigh-ins entirely, you will be disqualified and no refund will be issued.
This approach supports transparency, minimizes mistakes, and ensures that all competitors enter the mat under the same standards.
ALL NOVICE COMPETITORS MUST HAVE FEWER THAN 25 WINS AND THEIR SMOOTHCOMP PROFILE OPEN FOR THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.
WEIGH-INS:
Athletes must report to the scales six matches before their first fight, wearing their gi.
Bantams will receive a +1 kg allowance.
Intermediate through Adult divisions will receive a +2 kg allowance.
There is only one opportunity to make the official weight. If the competitor does not make weight, they will be disqualified.
Please make sure you are registered in the correct weight division. No changes will be accepted on the day of the tournament, and no refunds will be issued.
