The Melbourne Wrestling Academy are proud to present the 2026 Melbourne Wrestling Championship for ALL clubs on Saturday the 5th of December 2026 at: 

Address: Unit 2, 6-8 Tennyson Street, Williamstown

WEIGH INS will commence from 8.30am to 9am .

AGE CATEGORIES 

The following age divisions will be conducted at the competition:

- Male  U15 (13-15 years)

- Male U17 (16-17 years)

- Male U20 (18 and 19)

- Male Female U23 (20, 21, 22 and 23)

- Male Senior Freestyle (20 years and older)

1KG weight allowance will be allowed

Uniform Requirements

Wrestling singlets preferred but shorts (pocketless) and t shirt/rash guard are also accepted. If competitors opt not to wear a wrestling singlet they must have 1 red and 1 blue t shirt or rash guard to wear while competing.

COMPETITION RULES and Conditions of Entry:

  1. All competitors are responsible for their own medical and physical fitness to wrestle and understand that the nature of the sport of wrestling involves some physical risks that can result in serious injury or death. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they are free of skin lesions or allergies and are fit to compete.
  2. All competitors are encouraged to have private health insurance in case of any injury.
  3. Competition will be conducted in accordance with UWW Rules; draw will use a modified pairing system.
  4. All competitors must make weight within these categories.
  5. No weight changes are permitted after the registration deadline.
  6. All competitors must wear a rashguards and shorts or wrestling singlet for weigh in.
  7. Proof of Age, is required for all competitors. (Copy of Original Birth Certificate or Passport is required with entry form).
  8. Special consideration will be given for entries wishing to compete in a higher age categories.
