This Halloween, we're turning Southside Park into something completely different — Jiu-Jitsu, costumes, food trucks, music, vendors, prizes and surprises all day long.

DIVISIONS — SIMPLIFIED ON PURPOSE
Too many youth divisions create tiny brackets, dead brackets and kids with nobody to compete against.
MLG uses 5 age groups, 3 weight classes and 3 skill levels.
Fewer dead divisions. Bigger brackets. More matches.

Ages 5–11: Boys and girls may be combined when necessary to create competitive brackets. Parents/coaches will be notified.
Ages 12–17: Boys and girls compete separately.
MLG may adjust or split divisions based on age, actual weight, experience and registration numbers to create the safest and most competitive brackets possible. Parents/coaches will be contacted before significant changes.
Coaches/Parents are responsible on putting kids on the correct bracket.
Kids can always sign up to a second bracket. THEY MUST COMPETE UP ONLY!

When and where is Major League Grappling 6?
Major League Grappling 6 is on October 31 at Southside Park in Sacramento.
What age groups and weight classes are offered?
The age groups are 5–7, 8–9, 10–11, 12–14, and 15–17. Each age group has Light, Middle, and Heavy weight classes with listed ranges from 50 lbs & under through 165.1+ lbs depending on age.
What skill levels are available?
The skill levels are Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. For ages 5–11, they correspond to White, Grey, and Yellow+; for ages 12–17 and 15–17, they correspond to White, Grey + Yellow, and Orange + Green.
Can boys and girls be combined in divisions?
For ages 5–11, boys and girls may be combined when necessary to create competitive brackets, and parents or coaches will be notified. For ages 12–17, boys and girls compete separately.
Can divisions be adjusted or split?
MLG may adjust or split divisions based on age, actual weight, experience, and registration numbers to create safer and more competitive brackets. Parents or coaches will be contacted before significant changes.
Is there a division capacity limit?
Yes. There is a hard stop with 8 people per division.
Can kids sign up for a second bracket?
Yes. Kids can sign up for a second bracket, but they must compete up only.
Are costumes required?
Yes. Costumes are required and must be safe to grapple in. All costumes are subject to referee approval before competition.
What costume restrictions apply?
No glitter, capes or loose/hanging fabric, hard or sharp accessories, jewelry, props during matches, rigid masks or headpieces during matches, or inflatables are allowed. Face/body paint must be water-based.
What is the match format?
Matches are 5 minutes, submission only. If there is no submission, there is a 2:30 submission-only overtime; if overtime ends without a submission, the match is decided by referee decision.
