Please read the following information carefully before registering and competing. It is each competitor’s responsibility to ensure they understand the rules, weight requirements and event policies before the day.
The competition will operate under an IBJJF-style No-Gi ruleset, including IBJJF scoring, legal techniques and penalties appropriate to each belt level.
If a match finishes level on points, the competitor with the greater number of advantages will win. Where competitors are also level on advantages/disadvantages, the result will be determined by referee’s decision.
All referee decisions are final.
All matches will be 5 minutes, regardless of belt or age division.

Where necessary, divisions may be merged in order to provide competitors with matches. We will always aim to make any merges as appropriate and competitive as possible.
Weigh-ins open from 9:30am.
There is strictly no weight allowance. Competitors must make the weight category they have registered for.
If a competitor misses weight, we will attempt to move them into another suitable division where one is available. However, we cannot guarantee that an alternative division or opponent will be available.
Please double-check your registered weight before the event.

Competitors are responsible for arriving with enough time to check in, weigh in and prepare before their division begins.

This is a No-Gi competition.
Competitors may wear:
Clothing must be suitable for grappling.
No pockets, zips, exposed metal, hard plastic or other potentially dangerous fittings are permitted.
Jewellery and watches must be removed before competing.
Shoes must not be worn on the competition mats.
Event officials and referees reserve the right to refuse any clothing or equipment considered unsafe or unsuitable for competition.
For the safety of everyone competing, please arrive with clean training kit, trimmed fingernails and toenails, and good personal hygiene.
Competitors must not compete with any known or suspected contagious skin condition or infection.
This includes conditions such as ringworm, staph or other potentially transmissible skin infections.
IMA reserves the right to deny a competitor access to the competition area if a skin condition is considered potentially contagious.
Please respect your fellow competitors and do not compete if you believe you may have an infectious condition.
We want the event to provide a competitive but welcoming environment for competitors, coaches, families and spectators.
Abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour towards staff, referees, competitors, coaches or spectators will not be tolerated.
This applies both on and off the competition mats.
Competitors and coaches are expected to respect referee decisions and conduct themselves appropriately throughout the event.
Spectator entry is £5 per person, payable on the day by cash or card.
Please remain outside the designated competition area unless you are competing, coaching or have been given permission by event staff.
The competition will take place at IMA Leeds, Limewood Approach, Seacroft, Leeds.

Competitors are responsible for registering in the correct belt, age and weight division.
The organisers reserve the right to combine or amend divisions where necessary to create suitable matches.
While we will always do our best to accommodate competitors, alternative matches cannot be guaranteed if you miss weight or if your registered division does not have another suitable competitor.
