Dallas Mustangs - PGF
The Mustangs are looking for athletes who can finish, take coaching from Master Carlos Machado, and represent this city on a live broadcast. Win your division and you earn a guaranteed spot in the Season 10 Draft pool. Standouts who do not win may still be considered for preselect, alternate, or future invitation.
Winners of each division are guaranteed entry into season 10 Professional Grappling Federation Draft.
Winning does not lock a Mustangs contract. Final roster calls belong to Dallas Mustangs and PGF leadership at the January 17, 2027 Draft. Season opens March 2027.

Who can compete
Open rank. All belts and styles. 145.0 / 155.0 / 170.0 / 185.0 / 205.0 lbs Men, 18 or older on event day.
Register the class you will make. There is no extra pound unless staff posts it on this page before weigh-ins open.
Mustangs staff may approve, deny, or remove a registration for safety or integrity.

- Weigh-ins (night before): Saturday 10 October 2026 · 6:00–8:00 PM CT
- Weigh-ins (morning of): Sunday 11 October · 8:00–11:00 AM CT
- Rules meeting: 12:00 PM CT — mandatory
- First match: 12:30 PM CT

Format
- No-Gi
- Single elimination
- 6 minutes
- Submission or Event Lead decision only — no points, no advantages
- No draws. If nobody finishes, the Event Lead picks the more exciting athlete and the better potential PGF roster piece
- 20-second shot clock
- Heel hooks and leg locks legal
- Tight rash guard and shorts. No pockets, zippers, or strings
- Officials have final say on penalties, DQs, and disputes

Registration
- $100
- Deadline: 7 October, 2026 at midnight CT
- Registration is complete only when this Smoothcomp entry is paid
- We may close a division when it is full at 16 in a division
Refunds: No refund for no-show, missed weight, DQ, or inability to attend after you register. If we cancel the event, the $100 entry is refunded.
Spectators and coaches
- Adults 18+: $10
- Ages 6–17: $10
- 5 and under: free
- 1 coach pass included per registered athlete
- Extra coaches, teammates, or corners buy a spectator ticket
Conduct, medical, media
Professional conduct is required. Disrespect of opponents, coaches, referees, or staff; threats; fighting off the mat; or ignoring staff is a DQ with no refund.
You compete at your own risk and confirm you are fit for this ruleset. Staff can stop a match or pull an athlete.
By registering you grant Dallas Mustangs, PGF, and partners the right to use photos, video, interviews, and match footage for broadcast, social, and marketing.
If you are invited into camp or onto a roster, expect professional standards: on time, coachable, media-ready, represent Dallas.

What is the schedule for weigh-ins and matches?
Night-before weigh-ins are Saturday 10 October 2026, 6:00–8:00 PM CT. Morning weigh-ins are Sunday 11 October, 8:00–11:00 AM CT, the mandatory rules meeting is at 12:00 PM CT, and the first match is at 12:30 PM CT.
Who can compete?
The event is open rank for all belts and styles. Competitors must be men who are 18 or older on event day, in the 145.0, 155.0, 170.0, 185.0, or 205.0 lb classes.
How much is registration and when is the deadline?
Registration is $100. The deadline is 7 October, 2026 at midnight CT, and registration is complete only when the Smoothcomp entry is paid.
What happens if I miss weight?
You must register for the class you will make. The event scale is the official scale, and if you are not on weight by 11:00 AM on event day, you forfeit that division.
What is the competition format?
The event is No-Gi, single elimination, with 6-minute matches. Matches are decided by submission or Event Lead decision only, with no points, no advantages, and no draws.
What uniform and rules restrictions are listed?
Athletes must wear a tight rash guard and shorts with no pockets, zippers, or strings. Heel hooks and leg locks are legal, there is a 20-second shot clock, and officials have final say on penalties, DQs, and disputes.
Are refunds available?
There are no refunds for no-shows, missed weight, DQ, or inability to attend after registering. If the event is canceled, the $100 entry is refunded.
How much are spectator tickets and coach passes?
Spectator tickets are $10 for adults 18+ and $10 for ages 6–17; ages 5 and under are free. One coach pass is included per registered athlete, and extra coaches, teammates, or corners must buy a spectator ticket.
What does winning a division qualify an athlete for?
