ABJJC  Asia Open

* Gi & No Gi

* Round Robin - Kids, Juveniles (Max 6 Fights) 

* Kids with 8 or more in a bracket will be split into 2 Pools. This will still be a Round Robin. The winner of Pool A and the Winner of Pool B will fight for 1st place

   - Kids Under 9 Years - 2 mins

   - Kids 9 to 11 years - 2.5 mins

   - Kids 11 to Juvenile - 3 mins

   - Adults/ Masters - 5 mins

* Adults - Single Elimination

* Modified  IBJJF rules - www.ibjjf.com/rules  (Points and techniques)

* TROPHIES awarded For 1st, 2nd, 3rd Team

POINT SYSTEM

Competitors will be awarded points for each fight based on the outcome of the fight

- Win by Submission 3 Points

- Win by Points 2 Points

- Ref Decision / Walkover   1 Point

- Loss 0 Points

The competitor with the most number of points at the conclusion of each bracket will be awarded 1st Place, the second highest point scorer will be awarded 2nd Place and the 3rd highest point scorer will be awarded 3rd place.

In the event of a Draw the winner will be decided by:

*Most number of submissions (if this is tied then the fastest submission)

If by some chance the above is still a Draw... We will award 2 medals :)

WEIGH IN

There will be 2 weigh ins. One the night before the event and on the day.

Gi competitors are to weigh in with their Gi and No Gi competitors to weigh in with no gi attire. Male competitors are permitted to wear a rashie under their gi .

You can weigh in anytime before your fight

** WE WILL ALLOW UP TO 300 GRAMS OVER THE WEIGHT LIMIT. MORE THAN 300 GRAMS WILL RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION. PLEASE CHECK WEIGHT THE WEEK OF COMP AND AMEND REGISTRATION BEFORE REGISTRATIONS CLOSE**

DIVISIONS

ABJJC will endeavour to keep competitors in the division that they entered. Competitors will be merged fairly in order to create brackets. If a competitor must go up MORE than 1 weight class or  or 2 age levels, Coaches will be contacted if divisions need to be mixed or competitor needs to be placed in a higher weight or age division. If you do not wish to have your child placed in a different division please notify your coach.

Competitor Safety is the priority.

RULES FOR COMPETITORS

1) Mouthguards are Recommended

2) Must have finger and toenails cut ( will be checked at weigh in)

3) Must show Good Sportsmanship- Win, Lose or Draw ( Shake opponents hand)

4) ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!

What competition styles and formats are offered?
The event includes Gi and No Gi. Kids and Juveniles use Round Robin with a maximum of 6 fights, while Adults use Single Elimination.
How long are the matches?
Kids Under 9 Years matches are 2 mins, Kids 9 to 11 years are 2.5 mins, Kids 11 to Juvenile are 3 mins, and Adults/Masters are 5 mins.
How are Round Robin brackets scored?
