2026 ITF Warrior Cup — Event Overview
Step onto the mat at the 2026 ITF Warrior Cup! This will be a day built around skill, sportsmanship, and community.
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Warrior Code Taekwon-Do Academy (832 Malone Road, San Jose, CA 95125) hosts a well-organized ITF tournament for Little Warriors and Taekwon-Do students. Expect a friendly atmosphere, clear brackets, and staff who live our core values: kindness, integrity, courage, community, and development—one match at a time.
EVENTS BY AGE
Age-tailored divisions so every athlete gets the right challenge—and real reps.
Little Warriors (Ages 4 & 5 Years Old)
- Speed Front Snap Kick - quick feet, clean technique, big smiles
- Tail Sparring - grab your opponent's tail before they can get yours
- Obstacle Course - agility, focus, and listening skills under light pressure
Taekwon-Do (Ages 6 & up)
Open to all ITF members from White Belt (10th Kup) through 6th Degree.
- Patterns (Tuls): precision, balance, power, and rhythm
- Sparring (Matsogi): strategy, timing, and controlled contact under ITF rules
- Speed Turning Kick: explosiveness, control, and scoring accuracy in a short time

09:00 AM to 10:00 AM - UMPIRE TRAINING & VOLUNTEER MEETING
- Ring 2: Volunteer Meeting (with Ms. Ha Tang)
- Ring 1: Umpire Training & Meeting (with Master LeGrow)
10:00 AM to 10:30 AM – DOORS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
- Coaches Meeting in the Ring 3 (the small back corner ring) from 10:00 to 10:20 AM
- Competitor Check-in begins at the front desk
10:30 AM - 11:15 AM - LITTLE WARRIOR EVENTS (Ages 4 & 5 Years Old)
- Ring 3: Speed Kicking
- Ring 2: Tail Sparring
- Ring 1: Obstacle Course Challenge
11:00 AM to 1:30 PM - COLOR BELT COMPETITION (Ages 6 & up)
- Ring 3: Speed Turning Kick Competition
- Ring 2: Individual Pattern Competition
- Ring 1: Individual Sparring Competition
2:00–4:00 PM - BLACK BELT COMPETITION
- Ring 3: Speed Turning Kick Competition
- Ring 2: Individual Pattern Competition
- Ring 1: Individual Sparring Competition
4:30 PM - Competition closes for the day!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR UMPIRES!
Black Belts (age 12+), we need you. Help us deliver fair, fast, and inspiring matches.
- Who are we looking for? ITF Black Belts, 12 years and up (who really know their stuff)
- When: Umpire meeting & training from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Then you get a break from 10:00 to 10:30 AM and we go LIVE at 10:30 AM (with Little Warriors)
- Why: More qualified officials = smoother rings, better athlete experience
- Tournament Policy: 1 Free Coach per 5 students and 1 umpire registered. If you want things to be truly more fair and well balanced, each dojang should register at least 1 umpire (so the styles and outcomes are balanced)

REGISTATION AND FEES
Competitors
- $50 per competitor for 1 to 3 events (EARLY BIRD - by September 30)
- $65 per competitor for 1 to 3 events (LATE REGISTRATION - from October 1 to 18)(Registration closes on Sunday, October 18 at 11:59 PM - NO EXCEPTIONS)
Coaches
- Coaching passes are FREE (1 Free for each 5 competitors & 1 umpire registered)
- Limit up to 4 coaches per dojang
- Requirement: provide at least 1 umpire per coach pass
Registration Deadline
- No registrations accepted after Sunday, October 18, 2025 at 11:59 PM PDT (Los Angeles). No exceptions.
- All times Pacific. Entries must be paid in Smoothcomp to be confirmed
TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS
All divisions follow ITF rules and Warrior Code values—kindness, integrity, courage, community, development.
PATTERNS (Tuls)
- Format: Single Elimination Bracket for each division
- Each round two (2) competitors face off against each otherBlack Belts perform two (2) Patterns. The first pattern is an optional pattern & the second pattern is a designated patternColor Belts perform one (1) optional pattern each round
- Winners & Placing: Medals will be awarded for the competitors who place - 1st place / Gold Medal (one first place per division)- 2nd place / Silver Medal (one second place per division)- 3rd place / Bronze Medal (two third places per division)
SPARRING (Matsogi)
- Format: Single Elimination Bracket for each division
- Each round two (2) competitors face off against each other
- Bouts / Match Length: - Black Belts: 1 round of 3 min in the preliminary rounds / 2 rounds of 2 min in finals- Color Belts: 1 round of 2 min in the preliminary rounds / 1 rounds of 2 min in finals
- Scoring System used:+1 point for any punch (standing or jumping)+2 points for any kick to the body (standing or jumping)+3 points for any kick to the head (standing or jumping)
- Winners & Placing: Medals will be awarded for the competitors who place- 1st place / Gold Medal (one first place per division)- 2nd place / Silver Medal (one second place per division)- 3rd place / Bronze Medal (two third places per division)
PLEASE NOTE (FOR SPARRING):
- Contact will be controlled and excessive contact will NOT be allowed or tolerated
- Children under the age of 9 will not be permitted to punch directly to the face
SPEED KICKING (All Competitors)
- This division is included at no extra cost (all competitors are automatically entered)
- Format: Single Elimination Bracket for each division
- Scoring Validity: Only kicks belt height or above are counted
