I dropped into the gym for a bunch of sessions while visiting Cairns and had an awesome time. Head coach Caleb is very welcoming, the gym has a great vibe and the instruction was excellent. Will definitely be back in future if I get the opportunity!

I’m a black belt from over seas Travelling and training in different spots in Australia and it was absolutely amazing here! Good vibes and very high level of jiu jitsu I would definitely recommend to everyone to come and train here Absolutely lovely

I was passing through Cairns for two days looking for a gym that allowed walk-in’s. Wow. I felt welcomed the moment I stepped foot in the gym doors. Kaleb came over straight away and shook my hand, and invited me to train on the spot over both days. Being a female, it was really nice that the other females found me within the first 5 minutes to sit and chat and introduce themselves. Loved the community vibe! I would recommend visiting this gym if you are competition focused, and less for those who are wanting an easy session with flow rolling. The rolls were challenging, the instructional coaching was great. I walked away with some great take aways. Thank you Grounded Mat Sports!

Spent 4 days in Cairns travelling for work and, after some research and seeing the solid reviews, decided to drop into a Monday Gi class and Wednesday No-Gi class.. Best decision ever! Caleb and the crew at Grounded were super welcoming, the classes were well structured, and everyone was more than happy to share their knowledge and get some good rolls in. Couldn't recommend it highly enough - I'll definitely be back next time I'm up this way. Cheers!

I had a great experience training here while visiting Cairns. Head Coach Caleb and everyone at the gym were incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. They kindly lent me a gi, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere is friendly, the instruction is excellent, and it's a fantastic place to train. If I come back to Cairns, I will definitely visit again for another training session. Thank you so much!

Such a good gym with a nice atmosphere and awesome coaches. As a new woman to the MMA community, it was difficult to get on the mats to begin with but the coaches and other members there made it easy to settle in. The gym is also very women friendly which is a bonus and is a clean environment to roll on. The classes are always well-structured and catered well to competitors when comps are around and this is explained in the class if you are not a competitor however is still relevant to all members. Shoutout to Caleb for the unreal gym, keep it up!

Amazing gym, great hospitality from the coach and all the students. Would highly recommend to anybody passing through. Coaching was great, and Caleb (head coach) was always willing to talk and break down any questions or query’s you may have. Mats were cleaned after every session and also were a good size space.
