An excellent place to learn and practice Jiu-Jitsu. The coach and his team are excellent, offering a safe place for everyone, including children and women. Kids will learn more than Jiu-Jitsu; they learn tips on living and handling life challenges. I definitely recommend it to anyone serious about learning self-defense.

No place like home. This gym has become a staple for our family and we can't imagine life without Professor Edgar and Professor Kimberly. My girls learn an enormous amount there, and have fun as well. The teaching, instructions and training is top notch. All the students there support each other, train hard, respect one another and grow as individuals and as a team.

Life changing. I began attending BJJ classes here at a low point in my life. Professor Edgar is one of the best people I have ever known. Everyone here is family and I look forward to going several times a week.

I was brought to my knees by little munchkins…one took my leg, another took my arm and all others compiled on my back but, I had a great time lol on another note my daughter thoroughly enjoys her time here and has learned so much. Edgar is a great coach, and is very good with kids!

Walking into GB Valencia is my far the best fitness decision I have ever made. Professor Edgar is absolutely amazing. The environment is awesome. Everybody has a high level of respect for one another no matter what color you belt is or how long you have been training. Anybody that are even thinking about doing BJJ, come to a trial class and see it for yourself.

I started training at Gracie barra Valencia under professor Edgar in august of 2022. In the last couple of months I’ve lost weight, gained new friends and started competing. I highly encourage anyone in the area to come join Gracie barra Valencia.

I dropped in for a fundamentals class while visiting the area from another state. I was very impressed with the quality of instruction, the training partners and how welcoming everyone was. Professor Edgar and the team will make sure that you are doing the techniques correctly and as effectively as possible. The more intimate setting made it easier to learn compared to the bigger Dojos. I was treated with utmost respect during my visit and encouraged to return. If I was from the area I wouldn't hesitate to train at Gracie Barra Valencia.

Definitely a great place to train whether your just trying to get in shape or learn quality jiu jitsu. Everyone has been very friendly since day one. No egos in this gym, just a group trying to learn and grow together as a team.

Gracie Barra Valencia is amazing! My my 8 yr old son has been training under Professor Edgar now for almost 3 years and I just started training earlier this year. He is a fantastic teacher. Patient, encouraging and funny, but if you or your kid need to learn discipline, he is not afraid of calling you/them out. His positivity and enthusiastic approach makes every class enjoyable. The gym is always clean and well lit, and has sufficient seating for parents who want to watch their kids train. If you’re looking for quality BJJ in the Santa Clarita Valley, this is your spot.

Coming in for my trial class was the best decision I have made in a very long time. It’s been several months now and I’m in better shape than I’ve been in over a decade and going to classes is the highlight of my week. Professor Edgar make the atmosphere really inviting and everyone is super supportive. If you are on the fence about trying this out, just go. My only regret is not starting earlier.

I can’t say enough good things about this gym. The quality of instruction is excellent, the quality of training partners is excellent, and the attitude/culture of the gym is excellent. I felt immediately welcomed from my first trial class and noticed professor edgar checking on each student individually during drilling. Very clean and professional place to learn some awesome self defense. Thank you Gracie Barra Valencia!

This place is so welcoming and friendly! It's always kept very clean, and the techniques that they show are worth every penny. The principles they teach transfer both on and off the mat. This place changed my life! You should let it change yours too!

I'm beyond stoked that a Gracie Barra academy opened up in Santa Clarita Valley!! Not only does this dojo have a great curriculum for learning self defense but their fundamental techniques for sport Jiu jitsu are second to none. This academy in particular is very well maintained by the owner, someone who is genuinely passionate about Jiu jitsu. He makes sure the mats are clean and the bathrooms always spotless. An important aspect for any Jiu jitsu academy is the professor/coaches and how they teach. At Gracie Barra Valencia the classes are taught in great detail and the professor/coaches make sure you're doing the techniques correctly. The environment and students are welcoming to all and encourage everyone to give Jiu jitsu a try. I highly recommend this academy to anyone that is thinking about learning some effective self defense techniques and looking to get a solid cardio workout in.

I joined Gracie Barra Valencia the day they opened (06/2017) and it is the best decision I have ever made. When I joined I was not in the most desirable shape and felt a bit intimidated, but Professor Robert, Coach Edgar, and Coach DK were excellent at guiding me through the process and making me feel like I was capable. 18 months later I have become the best version of myself and still continue to feel like I make improvements on a daily basis because I have Gracie Barra Valencia. I am so convinced this place is beneficial for both mind and soul that I also have both my daughters involved. They are about to complete their first year of consistent training and I also see the positive change in them. They have become more resilient and willing to deal with challenges, and there discipline level is more than I could have ever taught them on my own. Thank you, Gracie Barra Valencia.

Great coaching here, instructors are incredible and offer unique perspectives for different techniques. Great training partners, very respectful team of peers. The curriculum is based on the Gracie system and is very effective for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournaments or self defense. The mats and facility are very clean. I highly recommend training here!

The professor is a women hater who is incredibly inappropriate towards the female students. He makes very sexist comments constantly. He purposely sent me an extremely inappropriate video on IG which resulted in my husband getting involved and ultimately caused us to ask for my membership to be canceled. It’s not a family friendly establishment as he doesn’t allow the female students to bring their children to sit and watch while they train, but he makes exceptions for the male students with their children. He crosses every line, he’s very unprofessional, and I’ve heard that now he doesn’t even allow the women to train together. If you’re a female that wants to learn the sport, and feel comfortable doing so… this place is NOT for you.
