This Jiu Jitsu Academy has provided our kids with confidence and discipline. These life long values were instilled by the professor and his team over the last four years. We were looking for a martial arts program and found it; but more importantly our kids found a community of mentors and friends. We are forever grateful for the impact that this Academy has had on our family's growth.

This is a great gym. My son has been coming to this gym for almost a year. He’s now 10 years old and a gray belt and competed in two different tournaments and absolutely loves the coaching staff and the team. It’s also great for making friends.

I’ve been taking my boys here for about 3 years. I watched my youngest start at age 3 (now 6) and I was skeptical of the sport initially, but watching him grow into the athlete that he is has been an amazing journey. His older brother watched him grow and also decided that this was the activity for him as well. So a parent’s dream come true to have a sport that my 6 and 13 year old can attend simultaneously. Professor Daniel Souza and his family have run this gym with an amazing amount of heart. My boys love coming when they can and there are plenty of class options to choose from. I hope this gym is around forever and I can’t wait to watch my boys grow with the rest of the gym. A great place for everyone.

The best. Family friendly, flexible, understanding of my many injuries and ailments. Given everything I've been through physically, there is no way I could pursue martial arts, but Professor Daniel and Coach Gabby have made my dreams possible. The highest recommendation on this business. I look forward to being a part of this team for many years to come.

Coyote BJJ is an exceptional martial arts school that has truly become a second home for my family and me. Under the guidance of Professor Daniel Souza, we have been training here for about 1.5 years, and the experience has been nothing short of transformative. The school offers a wide range of classes, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for both youth and adults, Muay Thai for all ages, and Judo. With multiple classes available six days a week, there's always an opportunity to train, no matter your schedule. The recent relocation to a larger facility has provided ample space and equipment, enhancing the training experience even further. What stands out most about Coyote BJJ is the family-oriented atmosphere. The instructors are not just teachers; they genuinely care about their students' growth and well-being. From the very first class, we felt welcomed and supported, which has fostered a strong sense of community among students and families. It's heartwarming to agree with other reviewers who describe the school as feeling like family. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced martial artist looking to expand your skills, I highly recommend Coyote BJJ. The exceptional instruction, supportive environment, and commitment to personal development make it an outstanding choice for anyone interested in martial arts.

This is by far the best jiu jitsu place ever! I recently became interested in jiu jitsu and have only been going for less then a year however I already see great improvement in many things such as my health and the very skill itself. The whole gym is like a family and everyone is so caring for one another. I have a younger brother who have been doing jiu jitsu for a couple years now and he has learned much more compared to the gym he used to go to. Love love love this place so much!!

This place is a great place to take your kids. If you are looking to make your kids tougher and stronger, this is the place for you. It is also a great family environment for all ages. The staff are extremely nice and will help you every way they can. The teaching is strict, but it teaches better character and makes you want to try harder.

Very positive and caring atmosphere. Professor Souza his family and the entire team are the best! My kids love this place and enjoy every class.Outstanding training for both children and adults. The entire Carlson Gracie team lead by Professor Souza, their patience and depth of knowledge is fantastic and encourages people to build an excellent foundation and work hard, whether you want to compete or not. Great workout,building/growning your jiu jitsu and Muay Thai skills and practical application of technique are standard fare. For the children's class, Professor is patient, friendly and an excellent example of a leader. The children look up to and respect him and have a great time while learning excellent skills. Highly recommend this JiuJitsu and Muay Thai academy to anyone out there wanting to train Brazilian jiu jitsu

The best experience anyone could have asked for! This place has given my daughter and i a family! She was a scared girl (toddler anger) and alone in many ways but after just 3 weeks my daughter is blooming in sonmany ways! Not only that but BOTH professors came to her birthday with their teen daughter to make a special appearance for her birthday! You want it all?! Go and become apart of this family and get it all! I have never been so full of love and happiness watching the success of my daughter and this amazing team!

Hands down the best Jiu Jitsu gym in town!! The Professor and all the coaches are amazing with the kids, teens and adults. In only 5 months our children have grown so much in the sport and have already competed in three competitions. It has not only been a great outlet but has improved their confidence, resilience, discipline, commitment, respect, good habits, socialization, and so much more. All the kids get along great and have really become a team. We have also met some really awesome people and the gym has been a very welcoming community. I highly recommend Carlson Gracie Eastside or WestSide BJJ Jiu Jitsu gyms. A big thanks to Professor Daniel Souza and Coach Gabriela Souza.

Hands-down this is the best training in the country. My daughter and I move around a lot and 100%. This has been the best experience. They definitely made a huge impact on not only my daughter but my family. We are now living in Florida and struggling to find a school even remotely close to the professionalism, dedication, and skill. I highly recommend this school to anybody in Albuquerque or traveling.

Professor Souza and his wife along with the other coaches are fantastic with the kids. Prices are extremely reasonable considering the smoking deal you get for all lessons available they have scheduled 6 days a week! Best investment we've ever had.

Myself, 40s, and two teens joined this academy a little over a year ago. For physical fitness, self defense, and competitive training this is an excellent choice! The professors are very knowledgeable, attentive and great motivators. The Jujitsuka training here are extremely friendly and focused to bringing up the skill of the academy as a whole. They will push you while you are rolling, then help correct your technique.

I was in town for the day and set out looking for a school I could drop in on. After looking at all the gyms in town this was the only one with a morning class. When I called Professor Souza he invited me in and made me feel very welcome. He taught a great bow and arrow sequence that worked great when I tried it at open mat back home. Great gym and he has forgotten more about BJJ than I will ever learn. I highly recommend this business.

My step-daughters to include their (3) younger cousins have been going to Coyote Jiu Jitsu for over a year. They have gained so much experience and self-confidence by the trainings and moves Mr. Souza has taught them. This is the best Jiu Jitsu academy in the state of New Mexico my kids been with Professor Daniel Souza since he came from Brazil he is not only our professor he is our brother he doesn’t only show my kids Jiu Jitsu he teaches them values morals and how to be a better person on and off the Matt my kids where not born champions but Taught how to be a champion how to act like a champion and how to fight like a champion. It is heart felt to see comments on hear about how our kids fight dirty in tournaments our professor don’t teach dirty he teaches our kids to obey by the rules and if you can’t fight clean then don’t fight at all there’s times at tournaments where our kids get sandbagged but fairness always wins we love our professor and stand by him 100% the Truth will always Conquer....🤙🏻🥋🥇🥇🥇

This is a place where excellence and discipline are demanded and expected. Most are not cut out for this type of training or the expectations that are required from champions however if being the best is what you seek then be ready to work and learn. Furthermore, quality training is not just physical. Professor Daniel will make sure you're mentally and emotionally ready to use all the physical tools he teaches efficiently. This is why this is a top rated team and this is why Professor Daniel is one of the best in the world. If you want to be a lion then come train with lions.

My experience in this gym so far has been wonderful, Profesor Daniel Souza shows care for his student's and I truly feel his intention to teach the art to be in good faith. The camaraderie is very family oriented which is not found often with commercial gyms. When it comes to practicing technique and sparring with my fellow comrades there is no ego involved at all. We take into consideration when someone is going through discomfort or when it's someone's very first day, week, and month training. Also, It is great to see Profesor work with the children specially the advanced colored belt kids that have been training with him for years. Shows he is well respected and if given the opportunity to teach, he doesn't disappoint. Give Profesor Souza gym a try you will not be disappointed.

I have known Daniel Aka- Coyote since 2016 and he is an exceptional BJJ professor. Everyone at the gym is there to train, have fun, and is welcoming to anyone who shows up. There is no ego in this gym nor does Daniel condone that attitude. I began jujitsu without any martial arts background. You do not have to be in "shape" to begin BJJ and you train at your pace. Highly recommend!!!!

*** update*** 28 Aug 22 They moved a few months ago to a different location in the mall. It was a good move for them and increased their capabilities. Biggest downside is that they are not able to effectively manage their customers. We tried to pause our tuition due to being gone over the summer. We tried 3 separate times and were still charged. The actual instruction is good, management should focus on getting the details to prevent customer frustration. Good place for your kids to train. I like that they instill discipline when teaching the kids. Super friendly staff and we are happy with the service

My kids enjoyed the team. The teaching style is different compared to other gyms around Albuquerque. In my opinion there needs to be more coaches helping the kids learn. During the year my kids were at this academy, it was usually just the head coach teaching the entire group of kids. I feel like my kids learned more techniques at home rather than in class because of the lack of coaches. The prices are fair for the amount of classes that are available. Overall a good academy to attend.
