Couldn’t say a bad thing about this gym. The culture is perfect for people wanting to learn the art in a sustainable way. It’s not just for hobbiest, and it’s not just for world champs — it’s for everyone. I train with both the women and men, and never imagined how safe and comfortable I’d feel rolling with people of different genders and skill sets. My daughter had started and loves it just as much as I do! I highly recommend this gym for all men, but definitely women wanting to get out of their comfort zone!

First, let me say this review is from me (a dad) looking from the sidelines. We have been coming to Cast Iron Brazilian Ju Jitsu since August 2023. My son (J) is 15 and he was invited by a close friend of his. Since the first class J has been hooked. We (his mom and I) see this as a Win-Win. He's getting exercise and building muscle all while learning a good skill. When J started attending, he was going 4 times a week. Three days in the teenage class and then the Saturday Open Mat. I love the Open Mat. J is able to lean something in class and then work on it more on Saturday. The Open Mat is mostly adults but kids do show up. I have to sing the praises of the adults. There isn't a bunch of egos that need to be fluffed up. Since J's first Saturday most everyone is more experienced than him. Frequently when J and an opponent are done "rolling" there is an impromptu teaching session. The more experienced adult (male and female) will show J how to do a move more effectively or how to get out of a hold. They all meet J at his level and let him learn at his speed. I don't worry about J getting hurt. A big thank you to Josh (the professor/coach) and all of the adults that work and have worked with J.

This place is awesome..it has the right level of competitiveness and a friendly atmosphere that allow kids to thrive. It has done wonders for my daughters confidence. It has made me realize that kids have their whole life to compete and sometimes its about the journey and learning to lose.

Great gym for all ages. Classes for kids are small and focused on skill and safety. Various adult options are also available. Highly recommend this gym for both new and experienced with BJJ.

A gym where the kids have their own class, the teens have their own class, and the adults have theirs. Where it respect comes naturally because the coaches see the potential and recognize it. This is a solid choice for all ages!

In November, I will be celebrating 15 years in my Jiu Jitsu journey… In my time, I have trained with some of the best Jiu Jitsu practitioners in the world and even competed along side some of them. Cast Iron Jiu Jitsu has limitless potential to create top tier competitors while offering a culture that appeals to the average hobbyist! This culture is safely guarded and maintained under the ever watchful eyes of Professor Josh Littleton, who in my opinion, does an incredible job preserving this balance. I HIGHLY recommend this Academy for literally anyone who is willing to stay out of drama, be humble, and focus on getting better at this complex puzzle we know as Jiu Jitsu. 5 star experience guaranteed, or you might actually be the one with the problem. I said what I said… 🤷🏻‍♂️🤓🤙🏻🥋🤼

Awesome experience. Came in traveling from out of town. Josh was super helpful and responsive when I reached out. Facility exceptionally clean and welcoming. Big props for Josh’s teaching which was efficient, effective, and laid back. Rolls were safe and fun. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to stop in while traveling.

Tried out multiple BJJ locations in the metro and been to many others throughout the country. Cast iron is my personal favorite. Classes are always very informative and run smoothly. Check it out, you'll love it! There isn't a workout you can do that Is more fun.

As a retired combat vet and former wrestler “I use to be in great shape.” Now married with 2 small boys, 3 back surgeries, and 10 years of no exercise I have let myself go to the waste-side. If you are like me and miss the interaction of like minded individuals who want to be a part of something special when it comes to elite class training, flexible schedule, no pressure tactics, and affordable rates. Look no further! I questioned myself why take a chance of potentially hurting myself? I have a pain stimulator inside my body. I thought maybe I would affect that in some way, but no it hasn’t. I can tell you first hand that no elite judgment standard is expected of you when you start out. It is at your pace at your own doing how fast or slow you want to achieve your personal goals. There is no throwing each other or any attempt to hurt one another. I have met and rolled with some skilled folks here, and they understand that this doesn’t pay the bills. Josh the owner and the instructor has a unique level of experience, personality, and leadership. For me, this is exactly what I needed. I have not felt so proud to be a part of something in a long time. I have only been to 4 practices, and yes the body is a bit sore, but I feel great and know that in the long run I will be better conditioned and have a stronger mind. I want to be a better example for my 2 young boys. Cast Iron BJJ will help me do that, and I know this gym will do that for you too!

Josh has done a fantastic job creating a culture that offers something for EVERYONE. From white belts that just wanted to pick up a new hobby, to mixed martial artist dream chasers. But the high quality training and knowledge that I have gotten from Josh, and other quality rolling partners, is only part of the reason why I keep coming back. The environment in the room is amazing. The people in that room become your family, and your biggest supporters. Josh not only just coaches, but he tracks progression, and genuinely cares about how his team is progressing, and knows when we’ve gotten better, and knows where to coach us in. Cast Iron Bjj is the place you want to be.

I started training at Cast Iron over 4 years ago and I immediately fell in love with the workout, the training and the atmosphere....these people I train with are not only my training partners...they are my friends...they are my family...jiu jitsu not only strengthens the body...it strengthens the mind and heart as well.

Not only it is a gym it is a family, very detail oriented on things we should focus on. Josh the instructor is very observant of everyone in the gym and gives great feed back after rolls with him. Most important it’s a very family friendly atmosphere for both adults and kids, very respectful welcoming.

I’ve been training at Cast Iron Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for about a year and a half now, and it has truly had a positive impact on my life. I’ve lost a noticeable amount of weight, gained previously undiscovered confidence in myself, and made connections that will last a lifetime. While training, I’ve met people from all walks of life who have been brought together through the common interest of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and the community that has developed through it is incredible. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking to challenge yourself.

I consider this my "home gym" even though I live 3 hours away. We don't have a jiu jitsu gym in my town and after talking to Josh, the owner and instructor, he said I could train there whenever I could make it in. Josh does a great job of explaining techniques. He caters to all students, those that take it very seriously and want to compete as well as the ones that are just there for a good workout. Everyone here is very good-hearted and they respect one another. I very much enjoy training here!

It’s not a disciplined atmosphere when it come to children classes. When a demonstration is going on children are allowed to just get up walk away get drinks and cause a distraction whenever. The knowledge is definitely there BUT when it come to tournaments he will be late and miss your children’s matches due to “ he had to train himself “ it has nothing to do with loosing but natural a child of young age will be upset and go to her comfort which is parents then the parents get blamed for coaching over the the coach who can not make it on time. When the coach coaches durning a match he can be heard and he believes that the child should already know how to get out of uncomfortable situations so he will sit there go hmmm with a finger on his lip. Some kids may know how to do that but a child with high ADHD memory does not come as easy so coaching from side line is necessary at times. I didn’t want to write this honest review but when a post on FACEBOOK is directed at my daughter because she is being switched school due to his lack of showing up for 3 matches where a old coach from a different gym and her father who has no clue about jiu jitsu had to fill in so she wouldn’t be disqualified.. sad just sad. She is and was one of the better jiu jitsu practitioner for the children’s class out of just a few and he lost her.

After being recommended to this gym, I was excited to try it. After taking a few MMA classes about 5 years ago, I realized I loved the sport. I only made it to 2 classes, But I loved the gym and loved the few people I had met. However, when I messaged a couple weeks later to ask about bringing my kids and possibly their dad, I was asked to find a different gym. I was shocked. I had gone on one date to a Ju Jitsu match with a guy I met online that also trained at the gym. After I realized he was wanting to be serious immediately, I informed him we needed to slow down. I didn’t think there were issues. After reading the owners response, I feel very slighted. Evidently in this male dominated gym, I was not respected. I did nothing to warrant being asked to find a different gym. Very unprofessional.
