  I just did an intro class here, I have been contemplating trying out BJJ for a couple of years. I'm a student of a different martial art, but Jiu-Jitsu is a whole different ball of wax. I came to observe a class recently at this school, and was very impressed. There's an excellent vibe here, competitive but friendly, all of the senior students and instructors are very helpful. Professor Mattos is very personable and good to his students. In other arts, I have been a student on and off for most of my life, and I can always tell when I see a good instructor. It's highly likely that I will start going here soon, the intro class was great. I worked with a very helpful student, and the whole experience was very positive. As with anything else, I suggest you shop around to find what is right for you, but don't be surprised if you end up back here. As an added bonus, the front desk dog Rio is great. I must remember to bring treats next time!

  Fantastic gym. Stopped in for a gi and no gi class. Instruction was 10/10 and culture of the gym was very welcoming. Highly recommend!

  Great BJJ gym just outside Carlisle Barracks. Professor Mattos is an outstanding instructor of Brazilian jiujitsu who cares deeply about his students. He and his team made me feel like part of the family during my short 3 month stay in the area. The gym also has a large number of skilled students who can help push advanced practitioners to the next level. I learned a lot in that limited amount of time. Given the welcoming environment and the emphasis on safe (but effective) learning, this would be a great place to start BJJ for those who have never tried it before. I highly recommend.

  Professor Marcelo Mattos is probably one the highest jiu-jitsu rank we had a pleasure to have as customer. If you want to advertise with us, we need to find out who you are first, like your business goals and legitimacy thru organization bodies who oversees the sport Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and professor Marcelo has ALL. I can say for sure that, if my friends and/or family are visiting the area, around Shark BJJ, I will definitely recommend them stop by to train. Nice facility, flexible class schedules and sizes to accommodate everyone (just check Shark BJJ Instagram, there are always class happening).   I have been attending this BJJ gym for just under a year and absolutely love it! I have attended BJJ gyms all over the country and this place does everything they can to meet the individual needs of each athlete! My son also attended here and developed increased skill and overall discipline! Strongly recommend!
