Our son has been training with Valor for just over 2 years now. We absolutely love this place and would recommend it to anybody looking for a place to take their kids, or themselves, to train

The professors are extremely knowledgeable and they welcomed our son into the Valor family day one. It's a great group of kids and we look forward to watching them progress in their training!

Valor is wonderful! My son has been training for 4.5 years, my daughters almost 4 years and the older for 2 years. I also started training almost 10 months ago in the adult class and absolutely love it, and the people I train with 🥰

The best in the area for kids and adults. The kids program is top notch giving your children confidence and enabling their physical, mental and psychological growth both on the mat and off. I've seen many kids, including my own child, come in timid and grow into coordinated, strong, flexible, and well mannered kids that transfers over to the next stage of life. Don't wait....

My family and I were vacationing at Navarre Beach for the week. I train regularly and love stopping in and training at jiujitsu academy's while on vacation . My 7 yr old daughter did the kids class and I did the advanced Gi class that evening and No Gi class the following day. Jackie greeted us and took care of the waiver and was very friendly. The coaches were very friendly and all of the kids in the class were very inviting and friendly as well. Mat Cleanliness was very important which is always a good thing to see at a jiujitsu academy. My experience with Valor jiujitsu as an adult drop in was wonderful. Professor Tim and coach Tayden both showed great technique and all of the students in class made sure to introduce themselves and were all very nice. They made sure to really make you feel like part of the regular student body there. Overall, if you are in the area I would recommend stopping by to see them. They have a great program for adults and kids.

A great place for learning . Access to a multitude of well rounded and knowledgeable coaches. This school has classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu , Wrestling, Judo , and striking . My personal favorite is that the academy has ample opportunities to practice no gi bjj compared to other schools who emphasize most all gi classes . The place is clean and sanitary. No bad apples here ! I’ve trained at Valor for almost a year now . Five years at other places. I can honestly say I’ve trained at places that had bad apples…. That doesn’t happen here. Family oriented, kid friendly, safe place with world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training.

Great school with a respectful atmosphere focused on learning while reinforcing real-world defensive and offensive techniques. Prof Tim and family are very welcoming to students of all ages and experience levels. Here's to another year, Team Valor!!

My 2 sons and husband just started and I am absolutely EXCITED !!! I'm already impressed with the respect that is demanded ! Mr. Tim is direct and is teaching all of his students very important life lessons ! To say I'm happy we found Valor is an understatement and I cannot wait to continue this journey with them ! Mr.Tim is teaching his students respect and that is such an important lesson to be taught. He called my son out today in the class, he did NOT humiliate him. He redirected him, as he should. I want my boys to have respect and to earn and in today's world that is much needed. I just met Mr.Tim and I can feel how much he genuinely cares about his students and wants the best and expects the best, to learn their self worth and realize their potential!

My daughter started BJJ classes 1.5 years ago and my husband and I have since joined about 8 months ago. We absolutely love it! The lineage and skill of the owners and coaches shows in their instruction. They're also wonderful people who truly value the art and their students. Expectations are high and the classes are demanding; I expect no less from a true martial arts class. My daughter often struggles with attention and the instructors are firm and fair in redirection. Every achievement is earned through hard work. As a family, we've all learned so much and grown attached to our Valor family. Thank you, team Valor!

My son started at Valor the end of 2022. I was excited for my son ( he is 10) to start. He has never been super aggressive being an only child his whole life. When he started the gym he was so nervous! But Professor Tim and his wife Jackie were so accommodating and accepting. My son had a Medical issue and was unable to come for almost two months. When he was cleared to come back we were welcomed with open arms. Since then my son has improved so much not only in BJJ but also in school and his attitude. He has more confidence and has made friends here. The expectations are high at this gym and I’m Proud to be a parent of a kid that goes to Valor. My son has improved his manners and his listening skills, too. I can see the joy that being apart of this bjj family brings him. We love this gym, the family dynamic and what they stand for.

Both my kids (8 and 5 year old), and I are students at Valor BJJ. Fantastic gym. Professor Tim and the other coaches are all professional and effective teachers. With a big emphasis on respect, customs and courtesy, the instructors ensure that students develop their attitude and sportsmanship in a positive way in addition to the hard skills of BJJ. I especially like that the coaches ensure the students show respect with “yes sir, no sir” looking instructors in the eyes when spoken to and making sure everyone gives their best effort. Promotions are only given when properly earned and that is a refreshing change in the participation trophy age.

Brought my daughter to this school after an unfortunate incident so she could learn self defense. She's been thriving in the school and in life in general ever since. The progress she makes in the class increases her confidence and promotes a positive attitude that extends outside the school. Very grateful for this school and Team Valor.

I’ve been training at Valor for a little over two years now, and cannot say enough good things about Professor Tim and his wonderful family, Professor Corey, and all the other great people that attend. It truly is a family here. Traveling because of my job and experiencing other BJJ academies has made me appreciate the instruction methods and manner in which classes are conducted at Valor. Little things like ensuring that an upper belt is always paired with a lower belt and performing each drill five times on each side make this academy stand out above the rest. During the COVID shut down, the coaching team and staff from Valor provided online instruction and videos to help us all maintain proficiencies and continue learning. Fair pricing and thorough cleanliness add to the appeal of this place, including its convenient location. I highly recommend Valor Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for anyone wanting to start or continue learning this martial art and combat sport. On top of the excellent workout, it truly helps calm the body and soul, reducing anxiety and stress like in no other way.

Dropped in for a night while on vacation in Navarre. Professor Tim was super welcoming and he showed me a great de la Riva sweep to add to my game. Awesome family atmosphere, my wife and will be back next time we're down here on vacation. Thank you Professor Tim!

Our family has been at Valor for about two years now. They are excellent with kids and adults! It's a family-run business, and they are safety-focused and promote inclusivity and courtesy! We couldn't have found a better group to train and compete with!

Valor BJJ is one of the best BJJ academies that you can find in the area. The lineage is solid and the instruction is top notch. Family oriented and friendly and caters to your goals as far as self defense, hobby, or competition Jiu Jitsu. I came to the academy with prior training at another academy in another State and was welcomed with open arms and upped my game tremendously.

Valor BJJ is a wonderful family martial arts school. They offer everything from BJJ (beginning and advanced for adults, and a thriving kids BJJ program). My kids have been attending this school for more than 5 years now... and they love it. If you are looking to challenge yourself, try something new and exciting... then try Valor BJJ. If you are looking for something fun and challenging for your kids... look no further than the kids program at Valor BJJ.

The head coach and other coaches are great and very knowledgeable. The school is friendly and family orientate. I haven't been there very long but at 56 you can't ask for a better workout with a staff and students helping you at every step. I wasn't sure until I wasn't sure it was for me until I went and watched a class.

My son attended Valor for years and received top notch instruction from top notch instructors. After watching from the sidelines for years I decided to give it a shot myself and enjoyed every minute of it. I very highly recommend the gym to anyone from beginner to advanced Jiu-jitsu practioners, you will not be disappointed.

My daughter has been coming to Valor for over a year now and in that time, I've seen her grow into a strong, confident, and wonderful young lady. I'm so grateful that we have this in our community. With the training she has received, I have seen her thrive and learn how to protect herself as well as learn respect; respect for not only her teammates and coaches, but respect for herself which is huge! She has learned skills that will go with her into the future. In her short time here on this planet, she has known trauma, and this place has helped her channel her anger into something productive. I'm so proud that she continues to thrive and want to learn more. She has never quit and I couldn't be more thankful. Thank you to all of her coaches and mentors who have helped her progress and have always believed in her. Thank you, thank you so much.

Coach Tim is wonderfully patient with his students, and he cares deeply about his students' respective students. Through training with them, and working very closely with them on both technique and implementation. After over a year there I can confidently say that I thoroughly enjoy him, and the rest of his team. Coach sets an example for both honor, and integrity.

My experience with this school has been amazing. Professor Thurman is not only a master at his craft, he is very humble. I have been a member of the Valor family for close to 6 months now and I know that I made the right decision to join. The school is very family oriented with fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters attending Valor or even in the same class. After being here I have learned that the family that rolls together stays together. Followed by that is not the family to mess with. Professor Thurman's teaching ability is top notch and all of the members have pushed me to grow and improve. If your looking for a place that your whole family can attend, Valor. If you are looking to get into shape with self defense along the way, Valor. If you are looking for authentic BJJ, Valor. If you are looking to get into the competition circuit, Valor. See you on the mats, OSS.

Really enjoying training at Valor. Good curriculum and great teammates. Someone mentioned having an issue getting their contract so I asked for a copy of mine. They got it to me the next day no questions asked. Keep up the good work!

So I've trained here for two years and can't be happier. The instructions as well as my team mates are phenomenal. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. We are a family and welcome everyone from beginners to highly competitive competitors. No toxic egos whatsoever and professor Thurman strives to be as inclusive as possible to all students.

I came to this gym looking for a authentic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu experience. As soon as I walked into the dojo, you could literally feel the authenticity in the room! Tim is great and provides encouragement to everyone. The knowledge that I received in this one lesson will have me coming back for more!

Tim Thurman is a master at his craft...He challenges himself as much as his students, benching 600lb at 49 years of age! Great coach, hands on class with good discipline, and motivation! Highly recommend Valor bjj!!!

Completely humiliated my 8 year old in front of a large class (plus all the parents). He has ADHD and has a hard time focusing- when Tim realized that he basically had a target on his back. He stopped class- asked my son if he knew how to do whatever it was they were doing… my son nodded yes, embarrassed everyone was watching, then he goes okay do it for the class. My son attempted the move even though he really didn’t know it and he and the other instructors proceeded to let him struggle while snickering to themselves. The whole room was watching- it was actually kind of heartbreaking. I understand trying to prove a point, but humiliation is not the way to go. Maybe pull students to the side if they need extra help. We didn’t return after that night. This was a few years back but I just thought of it and the way they made my son feel.
