We’ve tried several gyms, and South Jordan Gracie with Coach Ryan has been by far the best experience. Every coach is patient, kind, and genuinely invested in the kids. The instruction is much safer, more structured, and more organized than what we’ve experienced at other gyms. My 6-year-old attends twice a week and is always excited to go, which says a lot. We’ve been incredibly impressed with the positive environment and quality of coaching. I’ve also taken the female only class and it was great! I highly recommend this gym for anyone, no matter your age!
This is an amazing gym. Leadership at the gym (Ryan, Trevor, Logan, etc.) cultivate a great environment without any ego. Classes are structured in a way that promotes learning at a reasonable pace. Safety is a priority as well so it’s a lovely place to walk on in without fear of injury.
I can’t say enough good things about this gym. I hope to keep coming until I can’t
Has made jujitsu one of my favorite things! The instructors are world class, and just so kind. Absolutely fantastic culture, and i always look forward to going. Such a blessing every time i’m there.
I was visiting from another gym and it was great to see the same attention to detail with chaining of techniques. Very good instruction and structure. The class size is perfect. You’ll get lots of individual attention from the instructors. Other classmates are there to learn with you.
I have been training for over a year now. I love the atmosphere at this gym. Ryan, Trevor, and Brandon are amazing teachers. They make class fun and provide detailed instructions. This gym is filled with like minded people who encourage and help one another.
Ryan and his team are warm and welcoming to the sport. Also, they teach you exactly what to do and give you space to make mistakes and learn from them. This is a great gym, and I highly recommend it for all.
These guys just got a new facility in a fantastic location by the Library. Great community, great instruction - just great folks all around. I'm taking my 4 year old here right now. As my kids continue to age, I hope to bring them all here!
Love this gym!
Ryan is a really good guy and a very proficient teacher. I chose this gym for its culture- Ryan and his students are helpful and safe. As a new student, you don't get smashed by the other guys.
If you're new to jiujitsu or out of shape, don't worry- the environment of the gym allows you to ease into things. As you progress you can go harder if you want to. New students get a warm welcome and good mentorship. Come swing by!
Our daughter has absolutely loved her experience with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. My daughter has built confidence, self-worth, discipline and has made some great friends. Her instructor Ryan is so patient and kind with all his students and you can tell he is very passionate about teaching his students life-long tools to help protect themselves. This class is so much more than we could have hoped for and we are grateful we found it.
Ryan is the most patient, best instructor that I’ve seen. Skilled and competent, I can’t say enough good about him and his classes. Ryan has a way to corral these kids in class.
If you are on the fence or anxious about starting, just do it. As someone that has anxiety with new places and people, Ryan has been very warm and welcoming. If you are new to jiu jitsu, you will not feel out of place. From day one, Ryan and the other students have been great. I knew after my first class that this was a place I could learn and grow.
Jen & Ryan are amazing instructors - kind, patient, and very welcoming to new students. It’s a great environment to learn without feeling intimidated or overwhelmed.
Excellent environment, excellent instruction. Curriculum is very logical and structured. The video library is great for reference. Ryan is really likeable, patient, and professional!
I've been taking Gracie Jiu Jitsu from Ryan for about 6 months. It's been a blast! I love learning the techniques and practicing them. One of the best things about Gracie JJ SJ is the culture. We are all there with similar goals and we work together each class to get better. I remember how nervous I was for my first class but time flew by because of how much fun it was. Now, I have learned a bunch of Jiu Jitsu, I got my first stripe on my white belt, and I have made countless new friends. The first class is always the hardest but it's well worth it!
My son and I started taking classes here and we love it. The instruction is professional, considerate, and fun. I've always wanted to do martial arts and feel like this school has the atmosphere I wanted: real about what it takes to actually defend myself without being macho.
