Training at this gym has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The atmosphere is welcoming, the environment is clean, and the energy is unmatched. Coach Tim is nothing short of phenomenal. His expertise in Jiu-Jitsu, coupled with his ability to break down techniques in a way that’s easy to understand, sets him apart as a coach. Coach Tim has an incredible ability to cater to practitioners of all levels, whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced competitor. He’s patient, motivating, and truly invested in the progress of each student. What stands out most about Tim is his attention to detail—he doesn’t just teach techniques, he ensures you understand the “why” behind them, which is critical for long-term growth in Jiu-Jitsu. The community here is also something special. The members are supportive and create a great vibe where everyone is encouraged to grow together. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills, get in shape, or just be part of a fantastic group of people, this is the place to be. If you’re considering trying Jiu-Jitsu or looking for a new gym, I couldn’t recommend this gym and Coach Tim enough. You won’t just learn Jiu-Jitsu—you’ll gain confidence, build resilience, and become part of a family. Rating: 5/5 stars.

Popped in to 10P while visiting Nashville and had an absolute blast. The team and the owner Tim were extremely welcoming and generous with their space and their knowledge. Along with being super friendly, all the athletes in the room were very skilled across all areas of BJJ. If you’re dropping by for a visit or looking for a gym to call home. This is THE place. Great work 10P team and Tim. Can’t say enough good about you guys!

I took a great fundamentals class going over submission sequences from closed guard, the teacher worked with me and was able to explain a ton of different options from where we were going and where we ended up. Stayed for the 10 round Tuesday after, tons of great rolls and felt my training partners keep me safe even when the intensity turned up! Tons of different sized folks and different games. I highly recommend this spot and am looking forward to coming back. Thanks! -Alejo

I just visited 10p Nashville and had an incredible experience. Whether it’s starting jiu jitsu for the first time or visiting a gym that’s not your own, showing up to a new place in combat sports can make you nervous. This gym was awesome. The head coach, Tim, gave clear and friendly instruction. Can’t wait to be back!

Great environment and culture. Don't be intimidated if you are wanting to start training jiu-jitsu, 10th Planet Nashville is an amazing learning environment where the coaches and students are eager to welcome new members. I put off training for years and my only regret is that I didn't start sooner.

I have been training under Tim Freeman of 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu for around 5 years. He's an excellent communicator and runs a great program. All of his instructors bring something great to share every class. The class environment is very welcoming and safe. Plus the gym is kept clean and the mats are comfortable. Enjoy!

I’ve trained at a few bjj schools but this one is by far the best. Professor Tim and his son teach very in depth classes, breaking down the concepts of techniques easily, and they have a wide range of bjj classes. They classes for beginners, intermediates, advanced and competitors! You also get the full 10th planet experience with techniques you just don’t get anywhere else.

This is a home for me. The coaches are phenomenal, the Jiu jitsu is fun, the classes are numerous and the community is the best. Owner/Head Coach Tim did the community a service by coming here and providing a space for people to progress themselves physically and mentally. Highly recommend to anyone whether they're beginning Jiu jitsu or they're already a grizzled mat veteran.

Joining 10P Nashville was the best decision I’ve made in my adult life. Coach Tim, Coach Noah, as well the other teammates at this academy, are the best athletes you could hope to teach you. You will be met with high levels of discipline and skill - but that experience is always coupled with a serious emphasis on respect, coaching, and safety. You couldn’t ask for a better room to train in. Coach Tim & 10P Nashville will undoubtedly make you a better and stronger version of yourself.

I absolutely love this gym! Professor Tim has been one of my favorite 10th planet instructors and I have been to multiple different locations! The all around vibes of the location and people are exactly what you hope for when joining a new gym. Not to mention Tim’s instruction makes complex moves easy to follow. I’ve struggled with bjj in the past because my simple wrestling mind can’t always keep up with the more intricate systems. But Tim coaches in a way that even I can get it!

I had a wonderful experience. I did a drop in at an open mat. I was easily able to contact coach Tim about doing a drop in. Andrew was very helpful at the front desk and super friendly. All the guys were awesome and welcoming. The facility was pristine. And well maintained. I really liked the plants. I am so happy that I stopped in. I will definitely come back when I am in town.

They have learned so much already and have a great time doing it. If you are looking for a place to grow this is it. If you are looking for a place for young children to be challenged and gain confidence in themselves this is the place. Come check out a class! Update - Still grinding. Drop in and check it out

I don't have a ton of experience with other gyms but I can't imagine anything else being close to this. It's super friendly to anyone new and folks coming from other gyms or visiting out of town. The kids program is even better and probably the best one in the area.

Here's some reasons you might want to give 10th Planet Nashville a try: 1) You want to get in amazing friggin shape. People don't understand that Jujutsu is full body workout and a better workout in less time than going to any of the nearest workout facilities . 2) You want to learn how to defend yourself and or your loved ones. 2) You want your children to learn how to defend themselves. 4) Jujutsu training helps build amazing confidence! 5) Lastly and most importantly great people own, run and operate this company!

Tim is super knowledgeable and open minded with the types of techniques he teaches. Unorthodox but extremely effective and fit my personal style well. I’ve trained at several bjj academies before where instructors and students all have big egos, but I walked in here and was immediately treated like family. I love this place. #10P4L

My visit was a great all-around experience. From the jump, there was plenty of parking. You also felt safe to and from the school. When I entered the school, I was are greeted warmly and assisted with any questions I had. Then, Coach Tim Freeman greeted me and helped me prepare for class. Once class started, Tim’s knowledge became apparent. He took a complicated movement and broke it down into a simplistic form, which we all could understand. Shortly thereafter, we all were successfully doing the new movement. Before you know it class was over. You left inspired and wanting to continue learning the 10th planet style. The cherry on top was the class environment. No Ego or gym bully, just people trying to better themselves. Wish I lived in Nashville, I would join in a heartbeat. If you do live anywhere near Nashville and want to learn Jiu-Jitsu go and try 10th Planet Nashville

Tim and Stella are amazing, friendly and welcoming people. The gym is clean, with a huge top of line mat space. Tim has a way of breaking down the techniques into chunks of retainable knowledge and rolling with him is a humbling experience. He will definitely help you level up your game if your an experienced practicioner or he will mold you into a solid grappler and help you build your game if your new. I had such a great time training at 10P Nashville and the fellow students were cool and great training partners. I've been to many 10th planet moons and this one is top notch. Thank you, hopefully I can come back soon 👇👌P4L

10th Planet Nashville is a great facility, hands down the best for Jiu Jitsu in the area. I have trained with head coach Tim Freeman for about 3 years and he is one of the best coaches in the industry! From entry level practitioners to high level competitors, Tim is very well rounded to suit all your Jiu Jitsu needs in both GI and No-GI. Tim has a great way of teaching that makes his training sessions fun but challenging at all levels, he does not hold back on what you need to work on and is willing to put in the effort to help you achieve your Jiu Jitsu goals as long as you are willing to put in the work! For a great Jiu Jitsu experience, come train at 10P Nashville!

Coach Tim is awesome and has tons of knowledge, he’s really been helping me step up my jiu jitsu game. The gym has a good atmosphere, and the best instruction I’ve found at a gym in Nashville, I’d give 10P Nashville 10 stars if I could, and highly recommend it to anyone interested in jiu jitsu whether it’s your first time, if you’ve got years of experience, if you’re doing jiu jitsu as a hobby, or looking to find that next level for competition, 10th Planet Nashville is for everyone!
