Top level instruction. World Champion Cadre of instructors. Welcoming atmosphere. My son started here four years ago, and was slow to warm up to the idea of Jiu Jitsu. The instructors are patient and encouraging, they keep the training fun. The growth in his confidence has been astounding. After he was well established in the routine, I decided it was time to start as well. As a 53 year old novice who’s overweight and slow, my modest goals in Jiu Jitsu are exercise and self improvement, I’ve enjoyed all my training and the support you get from this top tier group of instructors. Whatever your goals and aspirations for Jiu Jitsu may be, you can reach them with this academy. It boggles my mind to think this world class level of instruction is here in Toledo!

I am quite fortunate to train at a gym with the likes of world champion talent on a regular basis. Competitions aside, BJJ gave me some purpose in life at a time when it was needed roughly three years ago. Thanks for all you do!

I can’t say enough great things about Adamas! From the moment I walked through the doors, I was welcomed into a supportive and friendly environment. The instructors are top-notch, with an incredible depth of knowledge and a clear passion for teaching. They take the time to break down techniques in a way that is easy to understand and applicable, no matter your skill level. The training partners here are respectful and dedicated, making every session not just a workout but also a chance to learn and grow. The gym is always clean and well-maintained, and the variety of classes offered—from beginner fundamentals to advanced sparring—ensures there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to compete, learn self-defense, or simply get in shape, Adamas is the place to be. The community here is second to none, and I feel fortunate to be part of it. If you’re thinking about starting jiu-jitsu or finding a new gym, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Adamas is a 5 star fighting academy. Whatever kind of fighting someone is interested in whether it is Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Judo, Wrestling, Muay Thai, MMA, Adamas has it with the best coaching. Adams also offers times throughout the day to fit into a person’s schedule. I am beyond thankful for this academy. My children and I have been able to learn and improve our skills from attending.

This is my favorite place to train Brazilian jiu-jitsu because in Ohio I'm basically learning more effective Brazilian jiu jitsu than Florida I'm basically learning North America Brazilian jiu-jitsu in Ohio I was born in toledo Ohio and in Florida I was only learning South American Brazilian down in Bradenton Florida Gracie jiu-jitsu gyms are good but I like jiu-jitsu academy better than gyms for self defense and sport Ohio would whoop Florida in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

As an older athlete I was a little hesitant to jump into a martial art I knew very little about. I’ve now been training here for almost 3 years and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It doesn’t matter what age, level of athleticism or fitness, or if you’re a man or woman. Everyone is welcome here. You can train as much or as little as you want. The instructors are kind, patient and allow you to work at your own pace. The members are friendly and eager to help new students. It’s a clean, safe and friendly environment to meet some really great people and the instructors are world class. I guarantee you will make some really great friends, get in great shape and feel more confident. I’m really happy to be able to train here. It’s been a great experience.

A true Hidden Gem that most people aren't aware exists. Although this place is home to some of the absolute best Grapplers in the World, the culture of the gym is humble and accepting to all. Dante has done a Great job of creating environments for both hobbyists as well as Competitors. I've been training jiu jitsu for over 15 years and have trained at a lot of places and this place hands down has some of the highest skilled yet most down to earth people you will ever meet. If you're in the Toledo area or anywhere within an hour of this place, check them out.

I have been part of adamas for 3 years now and lucky this is the jiujitsu gym I chose. Nothing but a positive experience since day one. Literal world class instruction on a daily basis, ego-less environment and very friendly. A perfect place whether you just want to get in shape or enter competition. Instructors and high belts readily available for help. Kelly Hymore(owner) will go above and beyond if he believes he can help someone in any way. Highly recommend!

Adamas is by far the best gym I’ve been a part of. The amount of skill and knowledge in the room day in and day out is second to none, not only in this area, but in the country. On top of that, the atmosphere is very welcoming. There are no egos in the room, and that includes Dante. My skill level in the short time I have been here has drastically increased and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to switch to Adamas from my previous gym.

I took my first BJJ class here a few months ago, and I absolutely love it! It's been such a rewarding experience to learn a new sport, and everyone has been super kind, respectful, helpful, and supportive. The instructors are brilliant and welcoming, and I really enjoy getting to learn from them (literally the best in the world), as well as from other, more experienced students. The atmosphere is great, the facilities are always clean, and as a female athlete, I feel respected and empowered both on and off the mat. Highly recommend for anyone interested in trying a new challenge or looking to level up existing grappling skills!

I have been training for a few years here. Someone taking a crack at jiu jitsu in their late 30s, there was a lot of hesitation and concern . As soon as you start, you will find a culture that promotes growth with no ego. They keep the facilities clean. The instructors are world class both in skill and humility. Fast forward to today, my children are now learning and it’s something I look forward to sharing with them. It’s been a great place to belong to.

I’ve had the privilege of training at Adamas since moving back here in 2022. By far the best school I’ve attended. The instructors are actively competing, bringing techniques they use successfully on a competitive scale. There is also no pressure to compete, the classes are filled with people from all ages and walks of life. It brings a real unique experience to the mats. If you’re looking to make great friends and training partners then come try it out.

This is the best academy in Northwest Ohio! If you are looking at switching academies, trying to up your game, or want to start training in general, than I highly recommend joining GFTeam. This academy now has 2 facilities within 20 miles of each other (Perrysburg and Toledo) and they make champions! When you join GFTeam you not only are joining an incredible academy, but you’re taught by the best in the game and you’re backed by an incredible team! So if you’re contemplating starting BJJ then look no further and join this world class team! My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner!
