I went to this Bjj gym and all I can say it was the most welcoming gym I have ever been too.
And the instructor Carlos is a stand up guy he is the best at what he does! Highly recommend going there.
If you are looking for a gym with a supportive and positive culture you should really try United BJJ. Profesor Carlos is such a natural leader that is a great role model for kids and inspiring for the adults. He leads by example and encourages everyone to be their best. This truly is a team that supports each other and encourages members to work hard to be great. Highly recommend if you're looking for great jiujitsu and a great culture!

This is the best jujitsu gym in Pasadena! I have been training here for about a year now, and I have to say that I have never found a better combination of technical instruction and positive training environment anywhere else.
The coaches are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, and they are always willing to share their experience to help us improve. The training sessions are well structured and cater to both beginners and advanced students. Plus, the coaches always make sure we're learning the techniques and giving us feedback on our performance.
The facility is clean and well organized, with plenty of space to train. The equipment is top-notch, and everything is properly maintained to ensure it's safe to use.
The gym has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, which is essential when it comes to building confidence and enabling students to learn at their own pace. Everyone here is supportive, and we all encourage each other to train harder and achieve our goals.

Coming from my previous school, I joined the United Jiu-Jitsu Team a little over 6 months ago and I have been blown away by the experience. The instructors are top-notch and highly skilled, with years of experience both in practicing and teaching the art of Jiu-Jitsu. They take the time to work with each student individually, ensuring that we all understand the concepts and techniques and can apply them effectively.
The atmosphere at United is welcoming and supportive, and the community has been incredibly friendly and encouraging. Everyone is here to train hard, push one another and help each other improve. There’s a real sense of camaraderie in the gym.
The school is always clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space for training. The class schedule is flexible, with a wide range of kids and adult classes (both gi and nogi) offered throughout the week. They regularly cross-train with Pablo Silva Jiu-Jitsu, with whom they are a close affiliate.

Carlos Henriquez is an absolute professional; he's patient, kind, and great at conveying information. As far as coaching young children, Carlos is one of the top instructors in Houston. His adult students are also technical and talented, with many being decorated competitors.
United Jiu Jitsu fosters a culture of respect and responsibility; students from young too old are taught to be humble and helpful. Their classes are filled with people from all backgrounds and walks of life, and they are courteous & supportive of one another, while at the same time pushing each other to be their very best.

Best jiu-jitsu school in the Pasadena and surrounding areas. Prof. Carlos is an absolutely top level competitor and will train you like no other. There's competition classes on Wed. 6am classes if needed and weekend comp classes at Pablo Silva BJJ in Belair. Bring lots of water/Gatorade.

Adult and kid classes offered. There are different skill levels and weight classes. Everyone trains hard and learns good technique under Prof. Carlos. Belt ranks are earned not given. Classes are structured and focused. Our team has good sportsmanship. Facilities are clean and sanitized daily. Family friendly environment. Highly recommend.

Awesome school. Convenient location and easy to get to. Professor Carlos is very knowledgeable and actually leads by example, because he actively participates in each class he teaches. The students there are very friendly and welcoming. This school will help your BJJ game grow, regardless of your experience level. No one has an ego over here, which is common in other gyms. There’s a family like atmosphere. Also, this school is very Military Veteran friendly. I served in the Military. I have some anxiety from my service. The Professor and training partners do their best to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I am proud to call this my home gym. Highly Recommended. Osss.
My daughter and I trained with Carlos in his humble beginnings. We *loved* training under his excellent tutelage and with his amazing team. Sadly we had to leave when we moved out of state for work, but when we return to Houston we will be returning to Carlos to continue supporting what he's been building. I hope to have my younger kids start training with him some day too.

Professional, well mannered, and passionate. That’s how I would sum up the head instructor at United Jiujitsu in three words. Carlos goes above and beyond his role as a coach for his students. Always leading from the front as well not just directing. That’s what I would look for in a coach.

So I have been on the hunt for a good Jiu jitsu school for my kids a place that works them out and trains them. What I was running into with a lot of schools in the area, is that they employ a lot of gimmicks and to much time spent on entertaining kids instead of live training, and if you are like me that is not what you want your kids . My kids love it here and I could not be more happy with the people that run it.
Incredible training environment for both adults and kids. It can be intimidating the first time you go into a Jiu Jitsu academy, but the entire team here is so friendly and welcoming, they really make you feel comfortable and at home right away.
Carlos is an amazing instructor and a great leader. He goes out of his way to make everyone feel part of the team, which sets the tone for the entire academy. This applies not only with the adult class, but even more with the kids. Beyond Jiu Jitsu and a excellent workout, these kids are learning confidence, respect, and integrity that will benefit them the rest of their lives.
As friendly and welcoming as the people are, they are also serious about training. The classes are as intense as they are fun. You will no doubt burn more calories in one class than most people would spending an entire day at the gym. The instruction is also top notch. I had never trained jiu jitsu before and was nervous about trying it out, but Carlos and the team we extremely kind and welcoming. After a few classes I felt like a part of the family and fell in love with the sport. I would recommend this gym to any and everyone, I promise you won’t find a better place to train.
My kids have been attending United Jiu-Jitsu for more than a month already and I have seen the improvement they have made in such a short time. I really like the dedication and professionalism that coach Carlos and his team have with the kids. Great training facility, the coach if very knowledgeable and has a good way to teach the techniques with Gi and no Gi the kids program is well complemented with warm ups drills technique and rolling, adult class is very competitive, definitely recommended for anyone interested in learning jiujitsu!

We have been with Carlos for one year and we feel right at home. One of the biggest why's for my daughter to do Jiu Jitsu is for self defense but United jiu jitsu team has so much more to offer than just self defense. Amelia is also getting in shape, develop lifelong friendships, and have a lot of fun – and that’s only the beginning for her. She did her first competition with Carlos right on her corner and now she's hooked! "Don't look for a princess to save but a queen to fight by your side."

Highly recommend this Brazilian jiu-jitsu school. My goal is to train and improve on myself, but not compete at the moment. I also have several medical issues. However, these were not issues to the owner, Carlos. He is very patient and understanding, and pushes you just enough to do better during each class you attend. Practicing this art can be challenging, however, this coach's positive attitude influences me to believe in myself.
