I wish I had taken a photo with Kroyler for the review. If you are anywhere near Elkhart Indiana and you are a jiu-jitsu practitioner or just curious about jiu-jitsu go visit Kroyler. His curriculum is amazingly detailed, which I love. He is welcoming and kind. I cannot thank Kroyler enough for letting me visit his gym for a week while doing a class in Elkhart. I highly recommend going to Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

It’s been an amazing experience so far at Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. First of all, the people here are awesome — incredibly welcoming, supportive, and knowledgeable. The instruction is truly top tier. With that combination, I’ve seen my progress skyrocket. I’ve been training for about a month now, and my skill level doesn’t even compare to where I started. The variety of classes helps you get competitive in no time. Everyone genuinely wants to help, and it shows. You can trust the guidance you’re getting because it’s clear they were taught the right way themselves. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend.

My 5-year old has been attending Kroyler Gracie for a couple of months now and we have had a great experience so far. Kroyler has been fantastic with communication and regularly checks in on how my child is doing, which we really appreciate. The instructors are great with kids and provide excellent support and guidance during each session. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get involved in Jiu Jitsu.

I cannot say enough good things! My son went from couch potato, to going to about 4 classes a week. He enjoys every class. Works hard and loves this class. Mr Kroyler and his team work amazing with my son who has autism. Communication is perfect! They are a drive for us, but my son picked this place because of their amazing reputation and I wouldn’t want to go any place else. I am also an over protective mom, and I have no question that my son will be safe and taken care of. Really great program, amazing people!

It’s always intimidating to start a new sport as a woman-especially a male dominated one like bjj. I looked at so many different gyms in the area before choosing Kroyler’s. The culture is very welcoming for newbies. Everyone is willing to help each other. I’ve never felt unsafe or worried that I’ll be hurt. For the most part every class I’ve been to has had at least one other woman in it. Yes there are a lot of guys; but everyone is very chill and not macho, bro sciencey a-holes. The curriculum is structured, so you know exactly what you need to do to progress to the next belt. The trial period is very nice to get a full understanding of the schedule and to see how it fits with your lifestyle. I can’t shut up about this gym, give it a try if you’re curious!

*Update: Just over 4 1/2 yrs so far and my family and I stand behind my previous statement more than ever. By far the best decision we've made regarding extracurricular activities for our children. The instruction and camaraderie amongst students is absolutely wonderful. The instructors have the ability to instruct, demonstrate, and still keep the attention of young kids with what seems to be very little effort on their part. Regardless of the students level, I have seen nothing but positive instruction and encouragement through every situation. Which in turn seems to give my kids the confidence and eagerness to practice and train whenever they get a chance.

I tried the trial offered at this academy and I came in with some elementary background in BJJ, so I had an idea of what to expect. What I didn't expect and was pleasantly surprised by was the kind and welcoming atmosphere of the staff and Professor Kroyler. Since I started, they welcomed me like I was family despite it only being my first day and being the trial guy! It was a great nogi class, a nice spacious facility, and kind and patient instructors. We’ve only been attending Kroyler Gracie Jiu Jitsu for a few weeks now, but we have had the best experience so far. The instructors have all gone out their way to make my 4 year old son feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire class. He is very clearly the most inexperienced student in the class, but he has already learned so much in just the short amount of time we have been coming. The instructors somehow found a way to make the classes very educational— while still ensuring the kids are having fun. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. We are definitely excited to grow and progress with team at Kroyler Gracie!

I found Kroyler Gracie to be a great instructor and his instruction is easy to follow even if you don't have a lot of existing knowledge. There were plenty of adults around my size (145lbs). They were excellent partners. The location is great as well. Will roll here moving forward and would highly recommend Kroyler Gracie for anyone in the Michiana area.

Kroyler is the best instructor one could have for truly improving their jui jitsu in any aspect. The environment that Kroyler has built in his gym is positive and supportive, for me, it feels like home. Walking into a Jiu-Jitsu academy can be intimidating for anyone, especially for a woman, but not here! From the moment you enter everyone is welcoming and treats you like you are part of their family. Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has a variety of instructors who are all knowledgeable, patient and detailed in their teaching with the ability to break down even the most complicated technique so that it becomes easy to learn. Here your age, gender, or level of physical ability doesn’t matter, it’s a special place where everyone, regardless of belt color, helps each other to learn, challenges you in a good way, and offers support. You not only learn techniques, but you immediately put them to practice in a safe and supportive environment which helps you to develop and grow. They have a wide range of class offerings at a variety of times that can fit even the busiest of schedules, for kids to adults, including Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, Judo, and yoga! Whether you are a beginner or advanced seeking fundamentals to competition with Gi or No-Gi there is something here for you. Plus, it’s super clean! I genuinely can't say enough good things about Kroyler Gracie, his team of expert coaches, and the students from all walks of life at this excellent gym in Elkhart, IN. I've been a student of Kroyler's (one of the most unassuming, humble, yet infinitely knowledgeable educators you'll ever meet) for almost 2 years, and my two children joined me on the mats roughly six months ago. Jiu-jitsu has been a fun way for the three of us to challenge and encourage each other in a non-traditional manner. As someone with zero previous martial arts (or combat) experience, it's been a steep learning curve, but I've been encouraged and supported by Kroyler and his team every step along the way. They're always available by text or email and hold me accountable for my goals, which I greatly appreciate. The facilities are clean, the culture is welcoming and friendly, and Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a safe space for all races, creeds, and beliefs. Whether you're a hobbyist or looking to compete at the highest levels, Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the place for you.

His attention to detail and progressive, systematic approach to teaching Jiu Jitsu is, in my experience, unparalleled. The close knit community atmosphere at the academy is amazing as well! We’ve met people who were friends from the start and over time have become extended family to my wife, daughter and I. 100% would recommend for anyone of any age or fitness level.

Kroyler definitely makes being the new guy very easy in his gym. I walked in not knowing which way is up, what to do, how do it, or anything (I still don't but I'm learning). Everybody is very friendly and more than willing to help no questions asked. If you're looking to start some where, I highly recommend kroyler jujitsu. You'll never feel out of place or odd man out. It's almost as if the moment you step foot in the door they treat you as if you're family. Great place all the way around.

I had a great experience with my first class at Kroyler Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Everyone was nice and very helpful with explaining concepts and techniques since it was my first ever experience with jiu jitsu. Kroyler himself was very kind in answering any questions that I had. Overall, I would definitely recommend Kroyler Gracie Jiu Jitsu if you are looking to get into the martial art as a sport, a hobby, for fun, or just want another way to train.

As a complete newbie to Jiu Jitsu, it was incredible how welcoming and friendly everyone was when I walked into my first class. Kroyler has created an awesome environment that is both fun and competitive. I was instantly hooked after my first class! Awesome place to train!

Awesome place to train! I was visiting from Kentucky and they welcomed me with open arms. 3-4 people introduced themselves right off the bat. The instructor was knowledgeable, precise and helped me “feel” the technique in live rolling with him! Great experience! Will be back every time I’m in town!

If fear of intimidation or inexperience is keeping your from trying Jiu-Jitsu, get yourself to Kroyler Gracie's gym and sign up for a trial. Kroyler, his team, and even the other students are incredibly warm and welcoming and so are the other students. I was surprised at how inclusive and supportive the group is too, even with a first timer, and you can tell that over time many of the students have become friends outside the gym as well. This is a special place ... one visit and you'll understand. Highly recommended!

I just started BJJ 4 months ago, and was visiting some family in Elkhart during a break from College. I reached out to KGJJ and was immediately welcomed to classes for the week. Kroyler and the higher-belts all welcomed me with smiles and helpful tips. Coming from a smaller gym, getting a variety of viewpoints was exactly what I hoped for and it exceeded expectations! The facility is nice and well maintained. Keep it up!

If you live within a 100 mile radius of this gym, you should be here. Kroyler has an excellent teaching style that allows you to improve rapidly. He breaks down each movement slowly and methodically and will give you individual attention if needed. The gym culture is great as well. Everyone is very welcoming and always willing to help.

Great place to learn Jiu Jitsu. Staff is very helpful helpful and willing to teach. Considering you can go everyday, it is well worth the price each month. I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn BJJ.

The benefits of getting in shape and learning to defend yourself, as well as preparing you for potential competitions, are more than enough reason to check this place out and experience the family that is Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

Highly recommend this gym. Came "home" from out of town for the weekend and asked about a drop in visit. The owner made it super easy and super comfortable to talk to. He was very responsive to my emails and all the members were friendly. It felt like just another day at comp class, minus the push ups. I was smoked. Thanks for the killer workout, Doc. Thanks, Clive, for taking me under your wing for the day. I'll be returning, next time I visit Indiana.
