Starting coming to Centreville BJJ in October of 2022. This was the first step of my BJJ journey. From the moment I walked in, it felt like walking into a second home. Coach Scott being so welcoming and greeting you at the door with a smile and full of jokes and contagious humor. Coach Scott has been a real support for myself, and always working with his students and bringing light to their own hidden self belief and strengths. He takes his time, and has taught me so much more than just jiu jitsu. Coach scott, along with all my teammates at CVIILLE BJJ have made this an amazing training center. I recommend it to anyone who is in the area!

I started coming to Centreville Brazilian Jiu Jitsu over a year and half ago. I came from a different school that didn’t survive the pandemic. So, after searching the area for BJJ schools I decided to check out Centreville BJJ and it was the best decision I ever made! Coach Scott and the whole team was very welcoming! The school is very competitive but everybody is very nice and not trying to hurt you. I loved the school so much that I enrolled my daughters into kids program. Which they love and look forward to attending class. It is a very friendly environment for the kids and the school has kids nights. Which is very cool! I highly recommend Centreville BJJ for adult and kids classes!!

I started training at Centreville BJJ three months ago and I'm glad I did. I had been on the fence for a while and one day I decided to take the plunge. Coach Scott creates a great atmosphere for people to get outside their comfort zone and learn something new. The gym culture reflects this atmosphere as other students are more than happy to help new people along. If you have any interest in trying BJJ then Centreville BJJ is a great place to find out if it's for you.

I started my Jiu Jitsu journey here around 2 and a half years ago. I’ve fallen in love with the martial art and Coach Scott, Coach Robbie and everyone else I’ve met during my time here have been like my second family. I always look forward to class. Coach Scott is an amazing coach and mentor.

This past Saturday was all women's BJJ class organized by one of my meetup group leader and I had a blast attending it with my daughter #1 ☺️ Did you know that Jiu Jit-su in Japanese means 'gentle art'? I think my daughter enjoyed gentling folding me into submission, lol. The coaches and folks at @centrevillebrazilianjiujitsu honestly completely changed my perception on what I thought BJJ was, or how I thought it was going to be prior to joining. They are inclusive, warm, patient and most importantly, motivating without intimidating 😎. They are going to start offering all women's fundamental class like this regularly one starting in July 2023 (Monday evenings!) and I can't wait to meet other women on the mat! I've been practicing BJJ quietly about a month and I am truly fascinated by how engaging it is. It requires a lot of both mental and physical strength to be able to handle it all. I love how it's more about learning about yourself as much as it is about just the movements. It is no joke I've been stressed a lot since being here in NoVA on my own, and this new endeavor is re-invigorating me in a refreshing way.

We have moved a lot across the country and attended many martial arts centers. This is our favorite place so far- the studio is clean, conveniently located, has plenty of parking space. And, the most important thing is that the coaches are enthusiastic and supportive- they made my son love his classes! The owner- Scott is attentive and welcoming. He has a great sense of humor and is patient, kind but firm when he needs too, as an educator myself I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Amazing gym culture. Everyone is very respectful and kind while still being able to offer some tough rolls. Curriculum is also well balanced with great integration of takedowns alongside typical BJJ curriculum. Whether you're a beginner or 8 years in the game this gym is definitely worth checking out.

I spent a month at this gym, and am so glad I did. Coach Scott has set a wonderfully positive tone and sincerely takes a personal interest in every person. The fundamentals classes I took with Coaches Rob and Jack were detailed and on point, and every person I trained with was very welcoming. I have to add that the warm-ups & cool downs are the most rigorous workouts that I've experienced at any BJJ club (and I've visited a lot of clubs on my travels over the last year). Thanks Centreville BJJ for improving my game!

This is a great option as a gym and learning facility for anyone that is interested in knowing more about the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or anyone that already knows a little bit about it and would like to continue on this journey of improving yourself as a martial artist and acquiring more skills that can potentially even help you out in a self defence situation. Everyone at this gym is extremely welcoming and treats you like family. I have trained at most Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gyms in Northern Virginia area and can not recommend this gym anymore to anyone. You will find people of all skill levels and different body types for you to train with and expand your knowledge and awareness.

I highly recommend this bjj school. Coach Scott does an amazing job coaching kids, helping kids develop good discipline and respect to each other, and be physically and mentally prepared to do a competitive sport or exercise self defense. Honestly, I have been looking for such school for my son for a long time. My son did Taekwondo for 2 years in different schools and all these schools were like daycare or playground for kids rather than a martial arts school. It is so difficult to find a solid martial arts school these days, and I am glad that I finally found it.

Scott and Centreville BJJ are top notch. Excellent culture and welcoming environment. Higher ranks and belts are always willing to help and go over positions and technique . Growth over time is strongly emphasized. My 2 daughters have been doing the kids class and can’t stop talking about how much fun they have with Coach Scott and the other fun coaches. I truly look forward to every workout and recommend it to anyone who is thinking about trying out BJJ. Thanks Centreville BJJ!

What a great place to grow the mind, body & soul. I thought it was a "young mans game", but coach Scott has the wisdom to teach different levels of physical capability. Not only do I enjoy it but my 5 yr old loves the kids classes available here. My wife will be joining their ALL WOMEN'S class as well. Cannot say enough good things about this school. Whoever you are, get it in there & give it a go. You will not be disappointed at Centreville Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Scott and the staff at Centreville BJJ were so welcoming to my seventh grade daughter, my husband and myself as we embarked on our first Brazilian jujitsu class. It’s something we always wanted to try and Centerville BJJ was the perfect place to start. It was a great mix of adults (really helpful and encouraging!) and different aged kids & the class was definitely fun and challenging! I like how the instructor, Scott also incorporated great techniques for “verbal jujitsu” and avoiding conflict when necessary! I liked it so much I went back the next day for an all women’s jujitsu class that was just as wonderful! If you’re nervous or scared about trying your first Brazilian jujitsu class, don’t be at Centreville Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! The people, facility, and vibe are all fantastic!

Scott and his team graciously opened their studio to my Girl Scout troop to earn their self defense badge. We so appreciated how patient and helpful Scott and his team were to our troop. The girls came away with so much information and practical defense moves. They are asking already to go back. We highly recommend Scott and his team!

I started as a complete beginner at Centreville BJJ almost 6 weeks ago, looking to develop a new skill and I couldn't be happier. The format of the class is outstanding, and the environment provides a great learning experience to include both technique and live rolling, the best of both worlds. After doing some research into other local schools, I was most impressed by the intimate setting which is much more club-like, and allows for a lot of one on one instruction. I am hooked!

Centreville BJJ has been an amazing experience. Im lucky to call this place my home gym. Scott since day one has emphasized a family like environment that help each other grow as a team. It is truly humbling to see many new faces walk in the door and feel welcomed on their first day. Would recommend to everyone.

This school is great. I was brand new to jiu jitsu and martial arts and the coaches and students have been extremely welcoming. I've been to three sessions so far and can honestly say that this is a great place to train and learn.

Instructor Scott is an excellent coach, mentor, and role model. A typical class of his encompasses a strong warm up, solid technique, combined with live rolling towards the end. His classes are suitable for people of all ages and skill levels, which I think many people appreciate. Aside from his BJJ black belt under Leo Dalla, he is also a long-time Judo black belt, having studied in Japan in his earlier years. I recommend anyone living locally to check out Centreville BJJ .
