YOU FOUND THE RIGHT GYM. From the very beginning, the experience has been awesome. Before I started, I was optimistic but unsure with many unanswered questions. I called the main number and the owner, Jesse, was extremely informative and encouraging, telling me something that really stuck: “The hardest part is walking through the door.” He was absolutely right. Once I got started, I realized how welcoming and supportive this gym’s community is. All the higher belts go out of their way to help newer students like me learn the basics. They’re not just skilled rollers but also great teachers who genuinely enjoy seeing you improve. The vibe on the mats is one of camaraderie, growth, and respect. Jesse is an outstanding instructor who fosters an environment where everyone, regardless of experience level, feels comfortable and motivated to push themselves. If you’ve been thinking about trying Jiu-Jitsu, I can’t think of a better place to start your journey. Walking through the door really is the hardest part, but you’ll be glad you did.

The instructors are amazing. Great for all levels. You will learn a lot of technical moves in both stand-up and on the ground. The prices are affordable and it's a great environment to learn and have fun.

So I got to train at endure jiu-jitsu today, I can not say enough , about how great of an experience I had today. Professor Jessie was very inviting, very polite, very courteous, the gym was very clean, the men's locker room was great , honestly the coolest locker room I've seen, my own gym doesn't have a locker room. I was blessed enough to be there and professor even did promotions while I was there. It was great please go see them oss

I can't say enough good things about this Jiu Jitsu class! From the moment we enrolled our boys, we've been thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. The instructors, Joey and Jesse, are not only highly skilled but also incredibly patient and supportive. They, along with the other coaches, create a positive and encouraging atmosphere that makes learning Jiu Jitsu fun and rewarding. Our boys started when they were quite young, and it's been amazing to watch their progress. They've built a strong foundation in Jiu Jitsu, which has not only improved their physical fitness but also boosted their confidence and discipline. The class is well-structured, with a perfect balance between technique and practical application. I highly recommend this class to anyone, regardless of age or experience level. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this is the place to be. It's a great way to get exercise, learn self-defense, and be part of a supportive community. We couldn't be happier with our experience here!

Been training at Endure for a little over a month now. Great gym! Jesse, Matt, and team are great instructors and have a wealth of knowledge about both Gi and no-Gi JiuJitsu. Shoutout to the growing 7AM morning class-been loving it. Hard to find a place to train that has that early time slot. It’s been great.

Endure has a very welcoming atmosphere and Jesse and all of the instructors are fantastic. They will push and challenge everyone to learn the moves and all the details to be successful with them. There are folks from all skill levels and ages to train with. I found the vibe to be super friendly and helpful when I was a complete noob. The mats and the facility are kept very clean, which I also like.

My kids starting going here about two or three weeks ago and they loved it so much that I had to try! Jessie is so incredibly nice and knowledgeable, it's easy to just jump right in. I was definitely intimidated at first by the big looking guys, but everyone at Endure is friendly and helpful. I'm so excited that I started this journey with this awesome group!

I love training here. Great academy. Friendly and welcoming. I’ve never had a “bad” partner for class-there’s a solid gym culture that is patient and kind. Great for grapplers of all ages and ability. Jesse, the owner and instructor, is attentive and hands on during class. Great energy, great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Endure is a phenomenal group of people. The instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and patient. The community that they are building is first class! My 9 year old son and I (43 years old) both attend and could not be luckier to have access to this caliber of school in this small town. If you are looking for a group to train with in the area then look no further!

I started my Jui-Jitsu journey with Endure and it is a Family, one that welcomes everyone as they start their journey. Jesse and the team have built one of the most welcoming environments you will ever walk into. Each member of Endure takes their time to share their knowledge and journey with you. As you train and learn more other team members will keep pushing you to train and you will eventually start to pass what you have learned to the next generation of members. Do not hesitate, just visit and take that next step!

I am glad they accepted my son when he was still 4 and now turning 5. He is learning a valuable martial art and it has does great things for his focus and concentration. He enjoys it and they make the class fun and exciting for him. Some schools will not accept children his age, but here they are great with the kids.

Endure is a stress free, clean, and nurturing environment to learn jiu jitsu. Whether it's your first time doing BJJ or you're an experienced grappler, you'll find the atmosphere welcoming and improving your skill set. Plenty of experienced belts training here but don't let that intimidate you if you're new because there are equally as many new white belts learning the gentle art. The hardest part of any sport is taking the first step so if you've ever thought about learning BJJ, you will not be disappointed at Endure.

I just finished my first jiu jitsu class and I have to tell you that if you have ever thought of doing this, this is the place to start. I didn’t know what to expect to be honest so here is what happened during my session: We started off with warm ups which is like ninja style fun between the high knees and shoulder rolls in the mat; then the professor demonstrated a series of moves for the class to partner up and practice doing. Being brand new, i was paired with an experienced peer who walked me through the basic moves and positions, and everyone is JUST. SO. HELPFUL. They are kind, careful, helpful, and they explain what they are doing and why. They make what can be a super uncomfortable experience, comfortable! For the last part of the class, the experienced peers were sparring on the mat using all of the tools and moves to try and subdue their partners; I was happy just to watch them and learn. I was SO intimidated but the instructor gets that- just get yourself through the door and onto the mat. You will thank yourself. Even just ONE class can help you if you are looking for some self defense moves. You can even just watch and not participate, but it’s oh so much more fun to participate. There are husbands and wives who do this together (so cute) and it’s awesome to watch the power and control that these people have over their own bodies. In addition to signing up myself, my 4.5 year old came to watch and he wants to sign up as well. So excited for this change in my lifestyle!

My son (10), daughter (12), and I train at Endure. In short, Professor Jesse Cerrone runs an exceptional BJJ school. The instruction is deliberate, and allows practitioners to build their practice towards their goals, while learning in a respectful and dynamic environment. Whatever your desire is to learn BJJ, overall fitness, competition, mental health, self defense, there is no reason to look any further. This is a school dedicated to the development of others. Everyone is working to improve their BJJ, and the team is always helping one another to improve. Come by, take a class, you will not regret it.

Starting Jiu-jitsu at Endure is not starting a sport, it is joining a family. Endure is just that. Professor Jesse is a consummate professional that takes time for each individual student. The gym is meticulously cleaned everyday and the setting is one that is perfect for beginner and advanced students alike. Helio Gracie explained Jiu-Jitsu this way: "Always assume that your opponent is going to be bigger, stronger and faster than you; you must rely on technique, timing and leverage rather than brute strength." At Endure I have learned this. Come and visit us.

The academy is neat and clean, very close to Shelton downtown and with plenty of parking space! The atmosphere is also great! Jesse is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor that made me feel comfortable and welcomed since my first class. All of the other students are also very respectful, patient and always available to help! One month in and this class has already changed my life, I love how now I feel much better physically and mentally! I can’t thank Jesse and everybody else at the academy enough! I am really happy and enjoying every single minute of the classes!

Endure has done wonders for my 6 year old son. In addition to learning Jiu-Jitsu from extremely knowledgeable professors, he's gained confidence, focus, discipline, commitment, and some great friends. Jesse and his staff are great with the kids and go above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience. They offer free trials so check them out for yourself! Highly recommend.

From the first day I walked in with my son I knew this was the place to train. I was greeted with all kindness and respect by Jesse himself. The environment in Endure is so friendly and family like, that I decided to start training a few weeks after my son started. I was afraid and clueless the first day of class, however jesse and the crew made me feel very comfortable, and treated me like I was always part of the group. My family and I highly recommend Endure Jiu-jitsu in Shelton.

I definitely recommend Endure jiu-jitsu to all. I've just recently started and can see these guys are some of the best I've known right beside the guys I deployed with while in the military. They are Humble, Kind,Honest and very family oriented. The short time I've been training very helpful in teaching me what I need to know. I'm getting in the best shape I've every been in so know this it will be a challenge but if you stick with it, it will make you a all around better person.

I started training at Endure BJJ a year ago after moving to the area from the west coast. I had not trained in many years and Prof Jesse as well as the rest of the students made me feel welcomed and like I was part of a family. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great workout and to meet some really great people.

My kids first expressed an interest in doing Brazilian Jiujitsu (boy/girl twins 7yrs old) so I looked around and found Endure. We went in for the free trial and they were immediately into it! The kids class is packed with exercise, instruction, training and fun. Jesse has a wealth of knowledge and is able to translate that into two different levels of kids classes that keeps things fun and structured. The staff that trains along side Jesse with the kids also train in the adult classes. They are amazing and interactive with the kids of all ages. My kids talk about and look forward to going to class each time. I feel they are getting incredible exercise and skills that will last with them as they grow. I told my kids that if they joined that I would join as well - so I did! The adult classes are full of amazing people of all shape, size and age both male and female. I feel like I have a second family here, everyone is respectful, friendly and always willing to help no matter your skill level. Since joining i've lost weight, gained muscle and love every minute of it. There are no egos here, and there is no shortage of instruction and help with drills and training. I love that as a beginner i'm able to train with higher belts and even Jesse himself. It really rounds out my understanding of various styles and techniques by physically feeling how others approach things. I look forward to each class and go three days a week! The location itself is clean and bright with seating for parents and relatives to sit and observe. I encourage you to go down and observe if you're interested in joining for yourself or your family. I've had many conversations with people interested in joining while my kids were training.

I brought my 6 year old (5 at the time)son down to Endure for a trial class at the recommendation of my friend Sean just to see what it was like. My son instantly fell in love with it so I signed him up. After taking him there for a couple of weeks I decided to give it a shot as well. That was in April and almost 10 months later we are both still going and enjoy it as much as we did the first day. That’s due to the friendly atmosphere provided Jesse and the other students that go. Egos are checked at the door and the higher belts are always willing to lend a hand without judgment. Easily one of the best decisions I’ve made. Highly recommend Endure.

I first met Jesse when I was 14 years old--my freshman year of high school. He was the first person I trained with on the mat and made me feel at home and comfortable. 10+ years later I still remember he taught me an escape that I thought was so cool because I was small and it utilized leverage to flip over bigger guys! As an instructor Jesse is patient, respected, and comprehensive. He has created a great community of good people who want the best for each other. Every time you walk into class you are met with friendly faces and smiles. I'd would wholeheartedly recommend Endure to anyone seeking to get in shape, develop confidence, or looking for an awesome social activity--for either you or your kids. Hope to see you on the mats! :)

My son is 7 years old and goes to Endure. This place is simply amazing! Professor Jesses patience with the kids and ability to get them to focus, engage and be hungry to learn more and more is beyond impressive. My sons confidence and strength have grown exponentially during his time training with Jesse at Endure. It is a welcoming and non-judgmental family-friendly environment which means the world to this mom of 3! The facility is sparkling clean at all times! THANK YOU Jesse and Endure for going beyond my very high standards!

I've been training at Endure for about 8 months, but it feels like I've known the other members for 8 years. Jesse has created a unique environment of respect that sets everyone up to challenge themselves to be the best they can be, all while having a blast. There are no egos and no bad attitudes here. I couldn't be happier with my decision to try out Jiu Jitsu at Endure.

I was new to CT and tried out a few schools from Rocky Hill to Wallingford. When I did the 7 day free trial here at Endure BJJ Academy I felt right at home. Professor Jesse is a very down to earth guy. He is a great leader and is determined on seeing his students thrive in BJJ. Even watching the kids classes is amazing, they work on techniques and play games that contribute to their practice of BJJ. The techniques we learn are very specific, we also work on some judo and wrestling to grasp every aspect of the sport. Honestly, I’ve never had more fun training than at Endure. We are a family and we love to have fun :)

Highly recommend this Jiu Jitsu school to kids and adults of all ages, shapes and sizes

I’ve been training with the men and women at Endure for almost 2 years now. Jesse is very knowledgeable and his skill set is unbelievable. He worked very hard for many years eventually earning his black belt from Renzo Gracie himself. Renzo is known to be one of the best in the sport, so to be able to learn from someone that trained directly with him is an honor and a privilege. Jesse prides himself on keeping a very close relationship with all of his students and really makes it feel like a family atmosphere. His attention to the details in explaining new moves to us is unbelievable. He will not rest untill he is sure we understand not only the move being taught but also the mechanics of it and the specifics as to why they must be done a certain way. You will never feel lost or out of place training with him. I couldn’t imagine ever training anywhere else.

I've been training here for about a year and a half, and I've never had a better time. The smaller classes allow more personal attention and Jesse is an amazing instructor. I've recommended it to many people and they've all stayed and train with us to this day. This is my new home away from home.
