Great atmosphere, amazing coaches and friendly students. This place is huge and has everything you could want in a gym. State of the art equipment, clean and very helpful coaches. Jits, muay Thai and mma, what else could you ask for? Definitely recommend to all those in New Haven area......and all those who are looking for a great gym

Heavy bag conditioning class at BWMA is the best by far!!! I can’t recommend them enough. If you are looking for a killer kickbox class - look no further! Amazing coaches and atmosphere. They push you to be the best you can be and then some. Alberto, Ryan and Jamal are the best coaches ever!

Black Wolf is an incredible gym with the most welcoming, encouraging, and kind community. I've never done a contact/combat sport before and now, I've been training Muay Thai at Black Wolf for a year. I shopped a few different gyms before finding my home gym at Black Wolf and found that the variety of classes, balance of class structure, and the community were unmatched. The schedule is packed with high-quality classes like Muay Thai, lifting, Jiu Jitsu, heavy bag, and MMA with many different times available which makes it easy to get to any class, on any day. The classes are super engaging and balanced in design so you'll learn technical elements as well as get a great workout. The people at Black Wolf are really what make the gym special. My training partners support me on and off the mats, have encouraged me to really push myself, and grow with me. Alberto, the head coach and owner, is patient, knowledgable, friendly, and will push you to be and perform at the highest version of yourself. Taking one-on-one sessions with him has been the best investment I've made in myself physically and mentally.

I've been working out here for about 4 months now doing the strength and conditioning classes. Walking into Black Wolf feels like walking into a home away from home. There is a strong sense of community. Be ready to work when you show up. Alberto is a master at putting together workouts that can test your limits no matter what your fitness level is. I've been a gym rat on and off most of my adult life. This is by far my favorite gym.

I’ve been training Brazilian JiuJitsu since 2006. I moved to CT a few years ago and was so happy to find Alberto and my teammates at BlackWolf Martial Arts. It’s more than a training facility. It’s like a family! And everyone in welcome. Although we all come from different backgrounds, are different ages and have different lifestyles we all come together to train and make ourselves better human beings. Training is what you make it and with my brothers and sisters at BlackWolf, there’s no quit! If your brand new or a veteran fighter, stop in… you’ll see!

The environment is one that is welcoming, supportive, but also pushes you to be the best version of yourself. This balance can often be hard to nail down but at Black Wolf you can tell they're about building community and not just their roster. The variety of classes, schedule, knowledge and dedication of the staff are all top notch. With offerings such as striking sports, BJJ, strength and conditioning; there's something there for everyone and I do not hesitate recommending this place to anyone looking to grow.

I highly recommend coming to this gym to learn many forms of martial arts. Brazilian Jui-jitsu, Muay Thai, MMA, you name it. Not only is there multiple classes throughout the day, but as a full- time member you can use the weight room which has top notch Rogue equipment, weights, and every cardio machine you could think of. Alberto is a great guy - he is an amazing fighter and BJJ Black belt who wants to see all his members get better. Cares about the club and he is there for You. Jacob is another teacher who knows a ton about all forms of martial arts. You are in great hands here. Everybody is really cool. Great community. Look no further.

I love training at Black Wolf. Alberto is a patient teacher and the vibe in class is always very friendly and welcoming. Taking your first class can feel intimidating at any gym but the people at Black Wolf go above and beyond to make the classes fun, welcoming, informative, and not overwhelm you with too much at once. The more experienced people in the classes take their time to figure out where your experience and comfort level is and match it which is something I really appreciate being brand new to Muay Thai. Can't reccomend this place enough. Everyone is there to have fun learn and help each other. Amazing environment for learning and training.

I was planning to train at Black Wolf for one month and here we are three years later. I have nothing but great things to say. Alberto made the start to my martial arts experience comfortable and it’s obvious that he truly cares about everyone that walks in his gym…he will go out of his way to check in on you when you’re not around. I’ve learned many technical skills in Muay Thai, but I’ve also connected with an amazing group of people/coaches who are so welcoming and willing to help anyone at any level of training.

I’ve been coming to Black Wolf for almost a year now after leaving a typical “meat head” gym. Honestly it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I started off doing strength and conditioning and a little bit of Muay Thai and now I’m also doing the heavy bag classes (+ do yoga upstairs with Bobbi). Alberto the owner really pushes you to your fullest potential and always checks in to see how the training is going. Really grateful to find a gym that gives that teamwork vibe. Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic coaches, and a great atmosphere. I was nervous and uncomfortable to start training with no prior experience, and that disappeared after the first class. Being part of the team, feels like you are apart of a family. I can't reccomend a better gym to join.

After going to many gyms, I finally found a home at Black Wolf. The head coach Alberto is extremely knowledgeable and always is motivating his students to reach whatever goals they are aiming at. Great gym with a lot of training options. If you train jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, or want to get into mma this is the place. There is also a good strength condition program. It’s definitely worth the time and investment if you are serious about training. Great for amateurs/pros and anyone who wants to get into shape and have fun doing it.
