Dropped in when I was visiting and it felt like walking into a gym I had been training at for years, Papalegua was super nice and welcoming. If you live in the area or are just visiting, this is the place to train.

My 5 year old daughter and husband love Papalegua and Carmen. They’re very family oriented and they make you feel at home. Jiu Jitsu is teaching my baby to be the best version of herself while learning to defend herself and you can’t ask for more than that. While you’re there check out the candles…handmade with love (:

Excellent instructor and excellent facilities. This is a very traditional and technical BJJ academy I highly recommend this place everyone is friendly and welcoming. No judgments or egos.

Highly recommend this jiu jitsu training studio. I was a member of their San Diego studio for many years and I loved how they pushed me to my limits with every class. I was so sad to see them go! Texas is incredibly lucky to have them. The owners truly encompass the meaning of the 6 blades (foundations) needed to improve yourself from the inside out. #noregrets

I tried a few gyms before coming here and this gym was hands down my top pick because it was the only one that truly helped me start from zero. Professor Papalegua and Carmen created a friendly, competitive, and safe environment for both beginners and advanced students and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

This is an amazing gym! Sensei Papalegua is a great instructor who really knows how to work with his students of all levels to up their game. Whether you're looking to get back into Jiu Jitsu like I was or just starting out, I definitely recommend you check this place out. At minimum try out a few trial classes and see for yourself.

We love this place, our whole family has really enjoyed going to classes together. Papalegua is an excellent instructor and is very patient with kids (and slow learning adults like me 🙂).

This place is amazing! My daughter loves it and is learning so much. Papalegua and his family are so great and they have created a truly welcoming environment. If your kid is interested in learning self defense, please go here you will not regret it. Truly a great place and glad they have come to McKinney!

Very excited to see a Six Blades Academy coming to our side of Dallas! I have known Papalegua for many years and my son has been a student of his in the past. I train with him every chance I get. This will be some of the best instruction in Jiu Jitsu you can receive! Their kid's program is guaranteed to be great! This will be an amazing location!
