Fight to Win HQ is a true testament to Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense. Aside from the amazing facility, the team of friends and family make FTW a very unique place. Coming from another academy, I was welcomed with open arms and respect. Whether you are seasoned or new to Jiu Jitsu, Fight to Win, along with Professor Steve Hall will make your Jiu Jitsu journey incredible.
I highly recommend Steve and any of his appointed team members. If you want your child to grow in character, this is the place to get him or her involved in.
Steve Hall and everyone at FTW have treated me like family since the day I walked through the door. I am truly grateful and feel lucky to be inundated by the knowledge that has been cultivated here and for the support and passion that everyone puts into their training as well as each other.
I was very excited after I checked this place out. Showed up during open business hours after contacting Steve and they were definitely open. Very professional.
I joined FTW less than a year ago because I wanted to try BJJ and had a Groupon. Best decision I’ve made! As a woman, I thought I’d be an outcast in a male-dominated sport, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The team is very welcoming and instruction is phenomenal!
I started training with Professor Steve Hall from the beginning. Early 2007 I was there when Steve started this journey and built FTW. I was a thorn in his side! However, Steve kept me around for some time and taught me about being a true martial artist. I took with me everything he taught me which is now my foundation I share with my students. I credit Steve with most of my accomplishments in Jiu Jitsu and I call him a friend. Even though he laughs at my Facebook pictures!
Great place. I have traveled all over the world and USA, training and giving seminars and this school is excellent.
Steve Maxwell Gracie Jiujitsu 6th degree black belt
I had been thinking about starting jiu jitsu a while before I actually started doing it. I was a little nervous to start not knowing what to expect, but after my first class with Prof. Steve Hall, all of that worry went away. Steve and everyone else in the Fight to Win family are always willing to help and pass on their knowledge. I highly encourage anyone who is thinking of starting jiu jitsu to come train at Fight to Win!
been training here for about a year and my kids for about 3 years. i could not recommend it more highly. the instructors are wonderful, patient, engaged, and talented. the instruction follows a plan so you actually develop in a structured way. the whole place is supportive of everyone that goes there. and Steve is great.
You’re not going to find a place with so many years of experience on the mats without paying much more for it. I have personally grown as a result of being at Fight to Win
My son has been attending here for over a year, the experience has been so incredibly great, my wife, 2 other sons & I have recently joined as well.
The instructors are world class knowledgeable and actually care about each student. Lead instructor Steve Hall is one of the top BJJ minds in the world & equally grounded and humble.
We are fortunate and grateful to have this BJJ studio as our local option and wouldn’t ever go elsewhere!
This is the absolute best place to learn Jiu-jitsu. Their program is top notch and every instructor is top notch as well. They make you feel like family. I would highly recommend Fight to Win.
This is without a doubt my absolute favorite place of all time to train. I make a 2 and a 1/2 hour drive once a week just to train with these guys and to learn from Professor Hall. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school to anyone interested in Jiu-Jitsu.
The Fight To Win team has become my second family. I love this school! We treat each other with care and respect, and the jiu jitsu training and instruction by Steve Hall and the other Royce Gracie black belts is second to none. If you’re looking for an amazing place to train jiu jitsu, learn and grow, look no further!
I feel homered to have Steve Hall and his staff in my life. My daughter has attended his children’s class for 4 years. I believe the class has instilled in her a sense of pride and a knowledge of how to defend herself. I am truly grateful for Steve.
If you are looking for a top-notch place to learn BJJ, then Fight to Win Charlotte is your place. Not only is Steve Hall a stellar instructor, the people who train there are fantastic individuals. It is a challenging and supportive environment where you will be pushed to become your best.
Absolutely love being apart of this gym great place to learn jui jistu and be a part of a community that treats and respects one another like family. I have never not enjoyed a training session here., Steve Hall is the man.
Steve Hall and his network of instructors under the FTW banner are some of the very best in the business. 1st class instruction from beginning to the expert covered. Safe place to train and family friendly. Steve Hall is consider one of the go to guys in BJJ (RGJJ), due to this his demand; stateside and international is high!!
I train here at the Charlotte location very often, it is the best jiu-Jitsu you can find in the area being run by an incredible staff lead by Steve Hall an incredibly skilled black belt
Highly recommended. One of the best decisions I've ever made was to join FTW BJJ. Time-tested, reliable system. Great people. If I was forced to post something critical, I would say that I only wish the facility were bigger, with more parking, more space to roll. It gets really busy, but that's just more proof that it's amazing.
If you want to learn how to protect yourself and your family you need jujitsu your life. If you live in Charlotte NC Right place to train at is Fight To Win Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Steve Hall is amazing coach . The whole atmosfere in this gym is really positive . Good training partners , super nice people. Incredible customer service. I am 3stripe brown belt, I know what I am talking about. Oss.
I had been looking for a Jiu Jitsu gym in the Charlotte area and heard great things about Steve Hall and Fight to Win. I started going here about 6 months ago and this place and the people have exceeded any and all of my expectations. I would recommend this gym to anyone interested in learning from a coach and individuals who care about your growth and are willing to go out of their way to help you out every single day. I cant think of a single bad thing to say about this gym, anyone looking to begin jiu jitsu or continue to learn - this your your place!!
I went to this gym having never practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and I absolutely fell in love with it thanks to the awesome learning conducive environment created by Steve Hall and the rest of the fight to win team. I've been training here for a year and a half, and I'm still hooked and have made many lasting friendships. The staff and Steve Hall are extremely friendly, professional, easy to work with, and accommodating. They allowed me to try a whole week for free, so I knew exactly what I was getting myself into, and they did not pressure me into any commitments! When I signed up, the membership details were straight forward, spelled out very clearly, and there were no surprises or fine print. The price was also very reasonable for the amount of training time available in the gym's schedule. Fight to win gets my highest recommendation to anyone at any skill level! You will have a great time, learn from the best, and be part of an awesome family!
Amazing place to train where you don’t just become a member of a gym, but part of a family. I have been training with Steve since 2010 and I have always felt like he was personally invested in improving every person who walks into the gym, on and off the mat.
Steve Hall is a great teacher, he is as professional as they come and a great mentor to his team, he has always been approachable and more than willing to answer any questions you have and goes out of the way to address any problems or concerns any one has.
I started training at Fight to Win in October and I was welcomed with open arms. Everyone is super nice. The training is great and the more experienced guys are always passing down advice. Steve Hall is a very technical instructor. Furthermore, he is a great role model to look up to.
I highly recommend Fight to Win for all of your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu needs. The group is very welcoming. I had no combat arts experience prior to attending FTW and that did not matter. I was accepted into the group and taught many skills that can possibly help save my life one day. I appreciate the dedication that Steve Hall and the rest of the FTW team put into the group, me, and the art.
It has been my pleasure to train with Steve Hall and the entire Fight to Win team for the past 9 years. They invest their time with each and every student. I highly recommend this team.
If you want an experience TO complain about, this is NOT the place to go. I've been a part of the FTW family for several years now, and that's exactly what it is...F A M I L Y. These people take you in and make you their own. I've belonged to several teams, and this is the by far the most unique, incredible experience I have been blessed enough to partake in. I HIGHLY suggest giving FTW a try, no matter what age you are. Time to start an awesome journey!!!
World class instruction. Very friendly atmosphere. The school has been a home for me on and off for the past 8 years. My experience has always been a positive one.
Proud to be part of the fight to win family. Steve is an amazing instructor and has a lot of talent following him. When you join the team you join a family. staff is very welcoming and always willing to help. Highly recommended!!!
If I could give this place 6 stars.....I WOULD! Great instruction, calls returned in a timely manor, and everyone is incredibly welcoming. Great price too! Steve Hall is a fantastic instructor. I was injured for 6 months and they allowed me to freeze my account and pick back up where I left off when I came back. Wouldn't want to train anywhere else!
I highly recommend Fight to Win Charlotte. I've been training with them and Fight to Win Denver for over a year. From the experienced jiujiteiros to the leadership of Professor Steve Hall, the bjj instruction and training is top-notch. If you're looking to get in shape or sharpen your self-defense skills, you should definitely try out Fight to Win Charlotte.
This place is more than just a team mentality; we are a family. I am honored to be a part of Steve Hall's Fight to Win family. If you're not a part of this, it's because you've never stepped foot into the building.
I've had nothing but an amazing experience training with Steve and Fight to Win. Every experience I've had has been characterized by professionalism and a nurturing community that takes care of those that walk through the doors. Those are two of the many reasons I've continued to train as part of the team. I'd venture to say that maintaining this healthy culture has been emphasized at Fight to Win more than most other businesses/gyms.
Top quality instruction from one of the most knowledgeable and experienced Black Belts in North Carolina. Combine that with a large student population of friendly and skilled people and this is a phenomenal place to train.
I live 3 hours away in Fayetteville, NC and frequently make the drive because of the quality of training here.
I could go on and on about my experience at this place but it’s been beyond a blessing to me AND my three children. The knowledge and camaraderie you receive here is unmatched. And being a part of many different types of athletic communities personally I can say that with confidence. I promote and brag about these guys constantly and having an opportunity to share such a sport with my kids has created a unique blessing of its own that isn’t readily available in most athletic circles. I’m extremely grateful I came across this place!
Steve Hall and all of the instructors are amazing. The entire team has always been very welcoming and will spend time to help me better understand the techniques. I highly recommend Fight to Win to anyone wanting to learn Jiu-Jitsu and self defense!
Top notch instructors at this school. Steve Hall is an excellent instructor who spends time with every individual in need including traveling to affiliate schools to teach. I cannot recommend this school enough. I have been a part of the Fight to Win family for nearly two years and I cannot speak highly enough of Steve Hall, Jon Plyler, Brad Hannah, Ben Holder and Charles Nunley. They uphold the highest of standards and quality and it resonates throughout each student I have had the pleasure of training with and getting to know.
Steve Hall is one of the best around . Great instruction while surrounded by great people . Couldn’t ask for a better place to train . It feels good to be a part of the Fight to Win family !! Life is good !!
Outstanding school, outstanding instruction. Steve Hall is not only an amazing BJJ practitioner, he is one of those rare instructors that can break down what seems to be the most complex move into simple easy to understand concepts. I highly recommend Fight to Win and Steve Hall.
I've been training at Fight to Win for 8 years and everything is top notch. To immediately address the concern of the woman above who seems to have had a communication error, I have never had a problem with my billing or contract. Beyond that, Steve Hall is extremely well respected from a local to international level in the jiu-jitsu community, and all-around a great family man who holds himself to the highest of standards. This an academy for everybody - if you're looking for traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu or just looking to get in shape, fundamental classes are taught regularly. And, if you want to compete "there are no easy rolls" as the saying goes. Come meet us and give it a try for yourself, you will not be disappointed :)
Phenomenal instruction, great training at all levels, and family-friendly environment. I've trained at several other academies across the southeast and this is my favorite!
Was able to drop in and train here for two nights. Very welcoming group, with good turnouts on the nights I was here. I would say very formal but still friendly atmosphere. Coach Steve is super nice. If you're in Charlotte looking to try out Brazilian Jiu Jitsu you should definitely try out Fight to Win.
I was in town for a week and wanted to train somewhere; found Fight to Win. I wanted to train but when I arrived it was the children's class, so I just observed. When the adults class begin Frank made me feel the most welcome. With an open hand he invited me to the mats, provided a clean gi for me and sparred with me. It was a great experience. If you can go...GO!
Now for children... it depends on what you want... if its just physical activity than get them enrolled...if you want to develop a fighter you may want to weigh other options, but that's just my half-informed opinion; again I was only there once.
IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO STAR I WOULD - THIS BUSINESS IS TERRIBLE AND WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE SIGNING UP FOR MONTHLY PROGRAM. YOU CAN'T CANCEL IF YOU MOVE. NO ONE ANSWERS A PHONE OR EMAIL WHEN YOU CALL TO ASK QUESTIONS, NO ONE RESPONDS AT ALL, THEY JUST KEEP TAKING YOUR MONEY. NUMEROUS EMAILS AND CALLS WERE MADE TO CANCEL AND THEY JUST IGNORE YOU TO KEEP TAKING YOUR MONEY! FRANK DOGGATT AND STEVE HALL ARE DOING A LOUSY JOB IN RESPONSE TO A BUSINESS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD HIRE A PERSON WITH A BUSINESS DEGREE TO HANDLE THE BUSINESS END OF YOUR FACILITY INSTEAD OF A MUSCLE HEAD.
