Walker Activity Dome is located on the east side of Newcastle and was previously known locally as “The Dome”. The centre has a long and positive history in the heart of Walker, dating all the back to November 1965 when it first opened. We are a family friendly centre that offers a range of activities for all ages and abilities both indoors and outdoors. You can choose from outdoor football on our all-weather 3G pitches, various indoor racket sports including squash, badminton, table tennis and pickle ball. We also have options for Sports Hall hire, Room Hire and access to the Walker library ran by Newcastle City Libraries. We also have a unique 2000 spectators event venue which is perfect for large scale events including boxing and wrestling!

We have been to the dome when the inflatable Planet is on a couple of times now. The amount of equipment out varies each time but there are large inflatable obstacle courses for the kids (and adults) to enjoy. It can be pricey unless you get a deal online and you have to wear their socks which you have to buy and is additional to the price already paid on tickets. It’s only £2 but you can use them for your next visit. We all had a great time and would go again. It’s more tiring than you’d think but a lot of fun !

The pitches are well maintained with clear markings. The only problem is booking for a seven aside match you get access to the 11 aside pitch divided into threes with little space in between the halves. If all the 7 aside pitches are booked, you get the annoying disturbance mid-game when balls just cross into your halves of the pitch.
