Zoo BJJ has an awesome atmosphere. Jen, the owner, is a very impressive competitor with clean technique who puts her all into this space. I've been training 10+ years, been to countless gyms, and I can't think of anything they could do better here. It is home to a lot of dedicated and welcoming practitioners! Highly recommend.
Posted 10 months agoEveryone at this gym is extremely friendly and welcoming. The staff are very knowledgeable and do a great job teaching each skill.
I was in town for work and dropped in to Zoo Jiu Jitsu. Jen was very welcoming! A quick tour of the gym and the high level instruction began. All training partners were highly skilled and friendly. There were several medals on the wall which are simply a reflection of the talent and skill housed at Zoo! Kudos to Jen and team for being such an awesome group. I will definitely be coming back and recommend Zoo for anyone looking for high level training.
Dropped in as an out-of-town guest and had a blast rolling with the crew. Super friendly and welcoming, excellent facility and a top notch experience. Next time I’m bringing my 6 year old mini-grappler with me!
Visiting the Missoula area and dropped in. Incredible people and super nice gym. If you’re looking to train in Montana this is the spot!
The coach is great here! It's a super welcoming environment and great place to train. I can't wait to go back!
I have been going to Zoo BJJ For over three years now. Everything is great from the knowledge, skill, and friendliness. Highly recommend
I brought both of my kids to train with Bob Brown as soon as each of them turned three years old. They have continued to flourish with Jen Schmill, Lauren Wolff, and Derrick Paulson. Gratitude and respect!
Check your ego at the door: if you have a problem with this gym, it just might be you! The environment and the people are incredibly welcoming and supportive. It is clear that everyone there wants to learn and improve AND help others to do the same. Bob, Jen, and all the instructors are competent, kind, and incredibly helpful. If you want to challenge yourself, learn some new things, improve your mindset and mental discipline, sweat a whole bunch, meet some incredible people, and leave a place better than you came to it, I’d recommend Zoo BJJ 100%!!
I've been to a few gyms around town but ZooBJJ is by far the BEST Missoula gym to train Brazilian Jiujitsu at for all levels. There’s a reason they are 5.0! It is the most welcoming, clean, zero-drama, and friendly environment I have ever been in. Everyone is focused on improving themselves, and there are many high-level belt ranks to get some great rolls with, along with fantastic and highly skilled coaches. You can tell they care about their students’ learning and are always focused on helping everyone improve. It is like a breath of fresh air compared to the local gym I used to train at before! I always recommend ZooBJJ to all of my clients and business associates. They are top tier.
Could not recommend this gym more, great training with even better people!
My brother and I look forward to every class. The instructor is very welcoming, dedicated to progressing the sport, and a well rounded grappler. I recommend Zoo BJJ to everyone interested in the Missoula area!
Iv'e been training here for 2 years now and I'm addicted. If your looking for a place to train Jiu Jitsu, definitely check out Zoo BJJ. Coach Bob has a pretty laid back style, but he will push you hard it your getting ready for a tournament or just wish to challenge yourself. All the regulars are very friendly and we always like having new people to train with.
Zoo BJJ is the perfect place to either start your BJJ journey as a beginner, or to take your game to the next level if you have experience. The people and atmosphere are very welcoming, and Bob has the experience, patience, and skill to make BJJ accessible to anyone at any level. Zoo BJJ classes are always fun, and provide excellent instruction for sport jiujitsu and self defense!
Bob (head coach) has created a very cool and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is extremely helpful and supportive, and it makes for an amazing place to train and learn!
Outstanding instruction, facility, and gym culture! Exactly what you want in a jiu jitsu gym
Zoo BJJ has something to offer everyone- whether you're looking for a great workout, a close knit community of friendly folks, competition training, or just want to learn how to choke people out. Bob's class is suited for anyone with a pulse and a willingness to learn and his style is relaxed and inviting to all belts who enter the gym. He leaves the rest wide open to you and how you want to pursue the sport and attain your own personal goals. Bob has fostered a community of people who are all too willing to help you along your way.
My experience with Zoo BJJ has been great! Bob brown the professor is excellent! Great with beginners and experts. I have been part of Zoo Bjj for almost three years now and have loved it since I started. I would highly recommend Zoo Bjj.
Just try it! I was a little anxious to start a martial arts class at my age (44). The Professor and my classmates made me feel welcome from the first few minutes I was in the gym. The learning process can be slow but you can see improvement with each class. This sport is for absolutely everyone; big or small, no matter your gender or your physical abilities. It’s great for staying in shape, self defense, mental focus, and living your best life. See you on the mats!
Zoo Bjj is the best place around to train. Bob is a true black belt and he creates an awesome environment to train Jiu-Jitsu. He’s great with kids and he’s teaching my two young children how to be marshal artists. I feel lucky to have him and all the people training in our lives. Come check it out for yourself and join the family!
I’ve trained at a few different gyms but this one feels like home. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and helps provide a great environment for learning. Whether you wanna compete or just train, this is a wonderful place to be.
If you're looking to start training bjj in Missoula, Zoobjj is the spot. The instructor, Bob, is a great dude, highly trained blackbelt, and couldn't be a more humble, friendly person. Since I've started training I've lost over 20 lbs and feel more in shape than ever! The entire crew there is extremely welcoming and I've made some life-long friends. No ego, no BS. Thanks Zoobjj!!!
Since joining Bob and the crew at Zoo BJJ, I have lost 45 pounds. I cannot think of any higher praise than that. If you are looking for a place to get in shape, learn a skill, and make some new friends, there is not a better place to go than here!
A great family friendly club for people of all ages and backgrounds. The owner Bob Brown holds a black belt and is an outstanding head coach. His easy going style is reflected through his students.
Starting a new hobby (especially a martial art) can be intimidating. This gym couldn't be more welcoming to new/visiting students;e is very friendly and excited to help out. The quality of instruction is the best in the area--Bob is a great coach with a great game. If you've ever been interested in trying out Brazilian jiu jitsu, do yourself a favor and check out a class ASAP!
I’ve trained at several gyms over the years and this is by far the gym where I’ve felt most at home. Bob is a black belt with a thorough and accessible teaching style; he fosters a gym environment that is welcoming and relaxed, while also providing plenty of challenge for those seeking to push themselves. Great training partners and great training for all experience levels. If you’re looking to train jiu jitsu in Missoula, you should check out Zoo.
I've been training at ZooBjj for just under 2 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The environment is without judgement or ego, and everyone is equally welcoming to newcomers with no experience and to those with a lifetime of experience. Bob is a very down-to-earth human with an easygoing approach to teaching that makes training fun. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the most confidence-boosting and yet humbling sport I've ever participated in, and I'd recommend training with Bob and the rest of ZooBJJ to anyone. An easy 5 stars.
Group is great and the instructor is awesome. If you have a chance come check it out. Everyone is friendly, constantly learning.
I've been going to this gym for 6 months now and I absolutely love it. I can't recommend it more to anyone who wants to learn BJJ or continue training. Bob Brown is a great teacher and the community build around the class is everything you want in a Jiu-Jitsu school.
Bob is a great instructor. He walks through every maneuver and will provide the 1:1 support when practicing with fellow classmates. I had a superb experience the few times I was able to go!
Love it! I can'tell get enough of Jiu Jitsu now! Everyone is so kind and helpful. Bob is a patient, excellent teacher!
My wife and I both train at Zoobjj. We love it! Excellent instructor, great welcoming atmosphere, steady improvement can be seen in everyone attending. Highly recommend it.
I have only good things to say about this class and its teacher, I would recommend anybody to join
Head instructor, Bob, is an unreal guy. I was in town for a week on vacation and decided to try it out. Everyone was very welcoming. I will for sure come back for a roll if I'm ever in town again. Thanks Bob!!
My son goes here to learn Jiu Jitsu and he absolutely loves it. Bob is the best teacher and helps you learn at your own pace! Great place and great people!
I look forward to going to Zoo BJJ everyday. Everybody is great and very welcoming and we have a blast training together. I've been at Zoo BJJ for almost 6 months now and the fun that we have practicing jiu jitsu continues to increase. Practicing jiu jitsu has definitely made me healthier, got me back into martial arts training, and it has become one of my favorite hobbies. If you're ever interested in practicing BJJ or seeing what it is all about, I'd highly recommend going to Zoo BJJ. Bob has a wealth of knowledge in regards to BJJ but more importantly he is an excellent instructor. If you're interested in either martial arts, fitness, or just to try something new, then don't miss out!
